Sooo true! I don't think Shanice understands how blessed she is. It's so much harder to make genuine friends when you're older. You're lucky if you can make them during elementary/highschool. It sucks when you had depression and you self-sabotaged yourself and pushed away potential friendships. And now that you've thankfully overcame your depression, and when you to try to make friends it just turns into acquaintances sigh lol ..... I'm 28, if I were to get married, there's not ONE woman in my life I could even consider to be my bridesmaid.

I have one girlfriend that I’ve known since elementary that I still hang out with from time to time, but she’s not my true best friend as we really aren’t on the same wavelengths in regard to maturity. Then you add and subtract good friends that I’m no longer close with because they don’t know how to be a friend in return. Then I’m left with one very good friend from college, that I love and appreciate, but she lives in a different state. I’m 26 now, and I could scrape together some girls if I needed some bridesmaids, but it wouldn’t be genuine at all like what Shaniece has. I’m trying to join a grad chapter of a sorority to try to make some friends, and shoot; I’m thinking about going to grad school to try to meet some people there as well, lol. I’m also trying to figure out how to make friends via going to workout classes too, it’s so hard when you’re older. Their friendship is truly a blessing.

How funn 💕🤗 I know that feeling was unmatched!!! 😩 Lord I ask for an amazing supportive group of women like this to call friends/sisters !! 🙏🏽 🙌🏽 after I gave birth to my son my ex friend stopped being my friend while I was going through postpartum depression because she said I wasn’t giving her the energy she needed. Mind you, I barley had energy to give myself learning to be a first time mom 😂 Thank God that situation was deaded! There was a reason why I didn’t want her to see and hold my son besides it being during a pandemic.
