- Here you will see 21 consecutive Los Angeles Police Department units responding to an officer needs help call involving fireworks being thrown at officers on Hobart Boulevard near Century Boulevard.

I call 911, and it takes them 30+ minutes to show up…

good on LAPD for keeping that badass Ford Crown Vic and it's great 4.6 liter V8 in their fleet. the crown vic is the best sounding cop car of all time.
And there is nothing so SWEET as the sound of the officer driving STEPPIN on the gas, then the sound of the the unit winding up
Working on the 4th is no joke. People get out of control and when one wants to fight the police the entire block comes out basically a mini riot it feels like. I worked the 4th this year as well and we had a similar call, small disturbance turned into the entire neighborhood wanting to fight us. We had every car in the city respond to that.
We had a similar incident in Minneapolis on the 4th. Every year our city had it's own fireworks display every 4th and not getting political but our Dem mayor cancelled it past 2 yrs and they did a laser light show for 2023 and it got so out of control cause everyone shot their own fireworks off and mass responses was called all over the city for juveniles out of control shooting fireworks at apts, balconies, officers, cars, etc. can't wait to see how bad it'll be this year

Poor dispatcher is like, "um....i have other calls. anyone out there?"
That's literally how it was like. Many units from other divisions were handling calls lol
There was an assistance call put out years ago here in Maryland for Six Flags. First a few non patrol cars went. Then dispatch requested additional units, then it got to the point when so many county units had to respond over there that the smaller city departments were taking 911 calls outside their jurisdiction until county PD came back.

I use to see responses like this growing up as a kid here in New York, when there was a gun call with multiple people shot. Its So RARE to catch this on video, because I never had my camera out in time to capture it. But Yeah Bro Great Job and Its in HD Great Video Man!!!

So, quick question. Are the slicktops just regular patrol cars now or are they specific units? I think they were CRASH back in the day but I don't know if that unit is still around in some form or another.
The slicktops are usually used for gang units

Those are called hybrid units, which are mainly used by gang enforcement units. It's sort like half undercover

From about 0:10 on, some quite good warning array designs: symmetrical and synchronized. They'd be better in symmetrical color too (all red, then all blue, etc.), but, much better than random scattered flashing.

Its called an All Points because Now Someone's Using The Firecrackers as a Weapon, and It is considered Lethal Force which is the appropriate response Police should have. The roman candle video earlier this month isn't so bad because there's no big explosive after hit hits the target but someone using the ones that blow up that can kill someone let alone seriously injure someone hence now its no longer irritating play someone's really trying to cause harm.

Smart sirens are really the best and make the difference in alerting traffic. But even though sirens blaring… people are still retarded and do not abide by the law of approaching emergency vehicles. The law is that you are to PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE of the road and stop…. Not stop dead center of the street. One day you are going to get struck by one of these emergency vehicles, and or cause a major accident. I do think that all persons who are applying for a California drivers license need to be required to take a traffic safety course as well as drive test before being handed a license.

That is the way I always see LA police they must be after one speeder .
Unfortunately, if the public calls for help you’re lucky if you get through to 911 or get one car to respond. They take care of their own though, that’s for sure.

Doesn’t seem like they were really gunning it…big response but didn’t seem incredibly urgent where they’re flying to help.
They need to be very careful and reasonable while driving code 3, if they crash they wouldn't help anyone
lots of traffic, if they are going high speed and some moron cuts infront of them by accident cause of the other responding units then they cannot slow down in time therefore causing a crash.
All that for fireworks.
You would think that there was an officer down or shots fired.
It was probably one firework or two in front of the cruiser or under. Officers panicked.
I think it's mostly about potencial crown control
Fireworks were being thrown at officers which put them at risk of burns or losing fingers. That night it happened to a civilian where he lost 3 fingers lighting a fireworks, it could have happened in this scenario
