I worked at a club in Philadelphia for awhile call the Trocadero(some of the really good performances on Killadelphia by Lamb of God were recorded in this club).I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of different people in a lot of different bands. Some were ignorant assholes. Some were in different and just ignored other people. But sometimes a band would come in,early in the day doing their soundcheck and stuff like that. And they were friendly with the staff, they didn't have a "Rock Star Complex".Kirk Windstein is definitely one of those people. I had a short conversation with him he was very cordial and nice. Being the big crowbar fan that I am and knowing that they were going to be playing,I brought every single Crowbar album ever made with me.Kirk took the time to sign every single CD that I brought(and if you look at Crowbar's catalog, that's a lot of discs). From working in the music industry for such a long time I really don't get"starstruck"anymore. When I first started doing behavior ND the scenes work in the music industry,I had moments where I was starstruck.Philip Anselmo,Dimebag,Lynn Strait from"Snot"(R.I.P.Brother)Max and Igor Cavalera.Kerry king,Tom Araya,Jeff Hanneman, Dave Lombardo. They were a few of the people where I had a hard time keeping my composure,And not freaking out and acting like"super-fan",but I just treated them like they were another human being and they treated me the same way. After going through that a couple times I learned that these guys are just people.Remove the stardom & they're just regular dudes with a really cool job. To be honest they respect you more when you treat them that way.Pepper Keenan told me that to my face.He doesn't like it when people fall all over him.I miss working there, but I moved so far away it's just too far of a trip to go to work there.occasionally I will drive the distance to go to a show cuz I know I will get treated very well by the staff.Long live the Trocadero in Philadelphia Pennsylvania!!!!!!!!..... And much love for "Chinatown"

Loved reading this, dude! And yes, you are 100% correct on that. Kirk and the whole band AND crew are super cool! I’ve hung out with the guys at literally every Crowbar show I went to and shot the shit, had some drinks, hit up that jazz cabbage😆 As a HUGE Crowbar fan, it was amazing, honestly. The guys from Mastodon, Machine Head and Black Label Society we’re all just as you describe. Devin Townsend and John 5 really stand out as reeeeally cool, down to earth guys. Hell, when I hung out with Devin before the show we didn’t even talk about music at all.😆 AMAZING show too!

Do you set up your own guitars? Ive finally been learning how to file nuts. I just need a few more sets of files for heavier gauges. Ive bought too many affordable used korean guitars that i cant just take to luthiers to spend hundreds on nuts, and frets. lol i'm getting some fret levelling beams, next. I also have a fret crowning tool on standby, and micromesh pads coming in the mail. Just need a few more things to do the levelling job. I bought 2 samick LPs, and im worried that one of them wont be fixable. Whoever altered the nut, did something to the nut cavity by the truss rod. Seems theyve filed off the part that hold the nut in place, instead of just filing and shaping the nut to fit the cavity. Smh. And the truss rod had a hex bolt, and needs a wrench instead of a hex key, and i dont think that's original for this guitar. And there's a crack along the neck joint to the body, i'm hoping it's just a finish crack. Smh. So all in all, i have 2 korean epiphone sg's, 1 korean Samick LP, and 2 korean Squier Pro Tones. I've become a collector of korean made guitars. My other samick LP is indonesian. And I have a chinese made sg that I hate.
