If it’s clotted cream, cream first but if it’s whipped cream jam first and a dollop of the whipped cream on top, as the whipped cream is too soft to spread the jam on! 😂😂😂
To make clotted cream it is baked slowly in the oven and that is when you get the yellowish crust on the top of the cream . It's the bit that most people like the best. Jam and then cream for me. They say you should aways break your scone rather than cut it .

When i was a kid, and living in Cornwall we had soooo many Cream Teas! Did you know your option of cream first and jam on top is Devonian and jam then cream (clotted of course) on the top layer is a Cornish tradition?
In regard to the tea/coffee and dehydration, while it's true that both coffee and tea technically have a dehydrating effect on you, it's completely negated by the liquid you're consuming when drinking the tea/coffee. So in other words, the liquid the caffeine makes you lose by drinking a cup, is less than the liquid you gain from drinking a cup.
I actually did myself a little cream tea as a treat the other day and when I came to do my scone (sounds like cone), I couldn't even remember which way around I usually do the cream and jam lol. Some people say you put the cream first because it takes the place of butter but I say as it all goes down the same way it really doesn't matter does it? Black tea no sugar, I say scone, jam then cream, no butter, but if a fruit scone no jam or cream, just butter. Mum taught us no butter before jam on a scone or on white bread, too much dairy. £25 is good for afternoon tea, some hotels and restaurants charge almost £100 for 2 people. Even here in Australia they charge up to $100 for 2,and that's without the bubbly.👋💕🇦🇺

Gaby thanks for taking us along to your Tea Date, it was lovely. Your fingernails are gorgeous, that color--do you mind sharing the name of the polish if you know it?
I’m not sure what it is I had them done at the salon x
Love the tea cups! Everything looks amazing, Cream then Jam, Gabby love your video.
Thanks so much! 😊
