Nice review, I'm also a fan of Squiggly Frog, extremely nice developer. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Adventures which released this year.
Great video. I had been thinking about getting an IGB. I’m actually concerned about the aging hardware and the on board memory. Do you know is A1Up is selling original specs. I have heard it can be leggy. What is your opinion. Tks!
The Touchscreen on the 32inch is fine for playing board games. Cause u don't need face past finger action for those. For a few games they have like air hockey, it def is a little baggy and doesn't keep up with ur exact finger on the Touchscreen which makes those games hard to play. I usually don't play those on here and play the board games apps instead.
The 32inch table has had a hardware revision (or 2?) since it's release. The latest table that's been out for a while is more powerful than previous versions. We've had ours for over a year now and any lag noticed seems to be more on the app than the device itself. Some of the arcade games we play are very smooth with zero lag but a few of the board games seem to be a bit laggy but you really don't notice it when playing board games or online with other people.
@DaveMunsie i don't think that's true or every been confirmed that any table has better hardware then the original. As far as I've always been told, hardware has stayed the same.
“Us board gamers” don’t tend to play board games on a giant touch screen like this though. I’ve got like 500 board games at least, I play those to be with other people and I enjoy the ritual of reading the instructions, using the physical pieces and components, etc. I don’t know anyone else in the hobby that is interested in this. What they SHOULD do is get the Megatouch license and make those games on a bartop or something. I’d love that.
Maybe thats true for you, but as someone whose owned over 500 board games as well, they both have a place. Nothing will ever beat the physical board game and its pieces etc, but when a game is done right digitally, it can be a fun experience to play with others with unique things only digital can provide. The whole point of this table is to play locally around it with others, thats the reason i liked it so much for a while. The reason most people arent interested in this that also play board games, is because there arent big board game licenses on it minus a few, and the heavy price tag. Lower the price, and release big board games on here and more would be interested. Doesnt mean all board gamers would be, but def would be more. I know plenty of people who buy one if it had board games they knew.
@ I believe this thing is for a very niche market, I still question who this is for. It’s not just me, I know tons of board gamers and no one in the hobby is talking about this. Nor do the board game media channels. It looks like alot of games for children and stuff you can already play on your iPad, so the market for this is so tight. Probably why there’s not much going on with development (and even when there was, there wasn’t enough or any must-have titles to justify the price). I mean, one person was in that lobby. How often do you actually use that? I know you aren’t playing Candyland or something right? Codenames is kinda neat but again, most people want to play that with other people at a table.
@TheRetroMachineTV it's like I said...most aren't talking about it because there's not much to talk about...hardly anything has released and no big name games for a long time...so even I have not much to talk about either. Hence why only a couple of videos I made on this throughout the year. But there are a handful of good games to play around the table with friends locally that lend itself well digitally. Just not enough of them or consistent enough
I wouldn't even consider playing a real board game digitally. Not the same and defeats the whole purpose... It's like they are deliberately trying to stop people from socializing. but hey, you do you Also in case you didn't know... Megatouch was finally cracked a couple months ago. There's a version out there that plays the games up to 2006.
I had to bring mine back when I got it. The damn thing would never connect to the internet 2.4 or 5 GHz no matter what it did Best buy. Couldn't even get it to run properly. $1,000 for a game board that doesn't even have any games on board. That's pretty stupid. In my opinion, if they going to offer you free games they should be already installed. Would have saved me a lot of trouble and aggravation and disappointment for my wife

@ I have had some versions on my mame cab, but I’d love to have a more complete collection. Wish they’d do the iPad versions again.
