    UPDATE:
    Due to the wishes of Riprow and Lee McCormack, there will be no plans or further build videos on this project. For those who were curious about the usefulness of the Riprow, it certainly has the capacity to assist in pattern development, however, my experience has been that time on the bike will always be more beneficial. If you want to work on patterning, intentional practice, on the bike, in situ, will always be more impactful. If strength development is your primary concern, Deadlifts, squats, bent over rows and bench press will yield better results. Its a very cool idea that I'm glad I explored, but my best results come on the bike and in the gym. The Riprow has no place in my training plan and I suspect that you may find the same to be true, given enough time. Cheers

      Tell me about it, you always hear about how kind the mtb community is but it's hard to imagine it being true outside of your own neighborhood. It is becoming increasingly obvious to me that the claims are 100% true, and both Alex and Lee n particular are true ambassadors and just unreal guys! Thanks for watching!

      @@casestudymtb You are very welcome. I look forward to more of your videos. I also wholeheartedly agree with your opinion about the MTB community. I just wish I could find more people to ride with. I'm 50 and most of my friends don't have the drive. :) Best of luck moving forward.

    Im curious if you have the spec sheets for those dampers. Im trying to figure out a alternative/better implementation, but trying to figure out what the ones on there are spec'd to.

    Great video.... were you involved in helping design the official v2?
    Will we ever get a build/plans?

    • @casestudymtb
      @casestudymtb  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I wasn't involved in the design of the V2, though it's entirely possible that the work we did here inspired that project as a way to make the riprow more accessible to the masses.
      As for build plans, no plans will ever be release. Unfortunately Lee did not allow me to move forward with the release of the plans and, as per his wishes, I won't be releasing a build video either (likely due to concerns over splitting the audience with the V2 and an official DIY version, and likely finding it more profitable to keep it in house).
      In all honesty, after building the thing, I'd rather spend the money on a gym membership. I honestly never really used it as much as I'd hoped, I'd rather be doing standing barbell rows, squats and deadlifts among other more traditional exercises just for the variety. I spend a lot of time on the bike (both a turbo and on the trail) already so diversity matters. It is a good training tool but ultimately it left me wanting.

      unfortunately, due to threatened legal action by the Riprow patent holders I am unable to provide any plans.

    I’m desperate for one of these but don’t have $1200-1500 to drop on it. Are you willing to share any info on it? Just got to use one while doing a lesson with them and it was huge benefit. More than I ever thought it would be.

  • @escay
    @escay 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cool they allowed you to copy the design. I considered ordering the dampers from riprow myself, before I would start my wooden build. The dampers are mandatory because they have configurable settings. It would be very cool if you could share your designs 👍

    Beautifully built, but you forgot the key design feature of any popular exercise machine: making it small enough to fit under the bed…forever.

      With a few carefully stacked cut offs and some acceptance of your bed being 6" taller, she'd go.

    • @casestudymtb
      @casestudymtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they were definitely mistakes, as it should be. Haha
      "Mistake" shouldn't be a dirty word, you only gain valuable experience from making them and recognizing them for what they truely are, a mistake. With out them we'd all be way worse at literally everything we did.
      They were mistakes, and as I said, I'm damn proud of every single one of them!

    Who has an idea of what to use as a hydralic damper, preferably one with a spherical rod ends.

      rip row's official site sells the ones that come with the riprow as replacement parts
