  • In this video I do an overview of the 5.11 Rush 24 2.0, compare it to the previous version (albeit Rush 12) and give a size comparison to the Goruck GR1 26L. This is an epic do it all bag that I wasn’t expecting to like but really fell for in the end!
    As always, if you have any questions feel from to ask in the comments, on Instagram, or via email!

    "I'm positive this bag is no good for hiking, long distances; it's not gonna be comfortable for that, that's just not what this bag is made for or intended for.."
    You sounded super confident when you said this and you didn't elaborate on it at all.
    It's designed for soldiers and has an entire compartment for a hydration bladder, can you at least try to explain why it's not good for merely hiking?

      He’s probably referring to the lack of structure support. I’m sure if this pack isn’t super bogged down with weight, it’ll hold up just find on a hike

      That's awesome. I don't have much use for this one at the moment but haven't had the heart to sell it. I probably would have been better off with the 12 v2.

      @@jtinseoul7041 I have the 72 as well but only take that on vacation cause it’s too big to take to work every week. (I’m a airline pilot). The 12 might be my next pack but the 24 has been perfect. I really want to try a goruck or recycled firefighter but it’s hard to deny my 511 as it’s been just bulletproof. The front pockets on the 511are awesome as all 3 zippered pockets have specific use that’s also hard to stray from.

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! The 72 has been on my mind as like a giant camera bag kinda thing haha. I think that both the Goruck and RF would feel a little "simple" for you if you're super used to the design of the 5.11. Another I would recommend in the small pack size would be the Direct Action Dust. I had it in my most recent video and it's a great bag in that ilk. Another really nice one is the Evergoods CPL 24. Designer of Goruck but the recent one has some good organization in the front that reminds me a bit of the 5.11 bags.
      One 5.11 that disappointed me was the Tac Essential. I bought it thinking it would be a great daily carry but they completely cheaped out on the liner (compared to the Rush series). Super disappointed.

      Own both 24 and goruck gr1. In my opinion 24 is better because of the plenty internal organizations inside. while the gr1 is sleek and better if you prefer put it all in the basket approach. I do use gr1 as my daily office bag thou. It is not that"tactical" obvious, sleek enough to be used as office bag, and comfy enough to be wear on motobike.

    Great review! I owned the Rush
    bags for years, then sold them all for more expensive, more “professional” style gear-Bellroy, Pakt, AER…Yesterday, I re-ordered the Rush 12 2.0 and can’t wait to add all my day to day gear in it once again. The layout, ease of use and quality can’t be beat. The bag stands on its own better than any others I have found. After trying a LOT of top brands, this bag just works for me. And, yeah it’s tactical, but i find its like wearing hats, its attitude that pulls it off. Wear it like you don’t care, and you look cool doing it.

    Own one gen 1 rush 24 since 2012. This bag is built like a tank. Has been carrying this bag everywhere in different condition from winter adventure to jungle Trekking, and it holds up. Kudos to 5.11 for making such a study baggo.

    Thanks for the review. I have the old 12 and i can confirm that the yoke straps is comfy for a whole days worth of walking fully packed out. The MR 2day is better though. But if you like the organization on this one, check out Vanquest. Their bags are super organized and very comfortable. Cheers and God bless!

      Hi! Thanks for the comment. I really like the both the 24 and 12. Both have been comfortable for me as well. Vanquest bags do look cool but aren't that easy to get here in Korea. I use a Hazard4 as my camera bag which also fits into this vibe pretty well. Love that bag too.

      Yeah, I saw the tac essential but it's definitely smaller and loses a lot of of the features of this pack. Basically I want the exact same bag with the same amount of molle as there is on the tac essential ;) With the same build quality as the Rush series.

    I carry my first gen in the bush regularly. It usually has about 20 to 30 pounds of gear in it and it's perfectly fine for such uses. Takes a real beating. It's fallen out of trees, been in water for long periods of time and has fallen out of the truck on the highway. It's beat up but it'll last for many more years. If you're using it for around town or for school, it'll last forever.

      Mine is like over 12 years old and still pretty solid. As said earlier in the post I carry it hard every week, and my zipper pulls on the main compartment finally fell off. I’m really torn between the gr2 and another rush 24. The organization of the rush is pretty awesome and I have a use for pretty much every pocket. My bag hangs on my roller bag and drags on the ground a lot when I stand my roller board upright. Like seriously have no idea this bag has lasted this long. I feel after 12 plus years the bag is just broke in.

    Interesting that you’re “positive” that a bag developed by a strictly law enforcement/military goods company is NOT comfortable to carry for miles at a time. No shade, just found that comment interesting. 5.11, in my experience, is a more budget friendly Goruck. Super tough bags designed to be worn, abused and stuffed while doing tough guy shit lol. But alas, I’m like you…carrying laptops and cameras around while I shoot and edit videos. I’m going to go check out the Tungsten model at my local 5.11 store and see what’s up

      Not a chance. You would need the larger Rush 72 pack for that. On the Rush 24 you can fit an ordinary half a litre soda bottle.

    • @videogazer801
      @videogazer801 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those two side pockets will cut into the main storage when you put stuff in them. And no, all you can fit tightly is maybe a skinny bottle 12oz Red Bull type, which is NOT ideal.
      If you want to carry a 32pz bottle on each side, buy two mille attachments expandable sacks

    • @maybejae
      @maybejae 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maybejae While I think the zippers is a possibility I don't think the removal of the grommets has anything to do with cost cutting. More likely it was an attempt to make the bag more suitable for urban environments as with the addition of the laptop sleeve. Also fairly certain the amount of pattern pieces needed for the laptop sleeve would be higher than the previous stuff pocket so I would say it wouldn't be a sizable difference. I would also venture to guess that part of the reason for going with the laptop sleeve was that the cord in the older versions broke so easily. All conjecture in any event.

    • @maybejae
      @maybejae 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jtinseoul7041 good point on the laptop sleeve adding to the cost, I had completely overlooked that. They probably took a few cost-saving measures to make up for the additional cost of the sleeve.
