I know a young man who was 18 and discovered after being arrested that his girlfriend was 13 and lied about being 15. The mother found out and he was arrested and charged under Penal Code 288, the same California law that currently puts him into the same category as the guy who is 40 who molests a 10-year-old. I have worked in law enforcement for over a decade. I believe the law really needs to change, or at least give judges and prosecutors more flexibility. He could have been charged with PC 261.5, a less severe penal code for "statutory rape", but because his girlfriend was just a few weeks shy of her 14th birthday, he will be required to register for 20 years instead of 10 years. Good thing he has family support, or he'd be at risk of homelessness when he paroles, which is when his registration period would have to begin.

The reason children become uncomfortable with openly talking about Sex is because the parents made it uncomfortable to begin with.

What about the people that are accused of such acts, but in actuality nothing took place, and the parent lied to just get even??? No evidence of a crime or a made up coerced story!!! And also what if you get to court and your lawyer states to you that they lost the element of the warrant???

Theres also kids who have an intimate relationship and are both charged. Or what about this? For years, I was groomed online. I sent nudes to this guy. It started when I was 9. It ended last January. FBI watched my every move for months because by law what I did was child pornography. This is not taking into consideration that I was taken advantage of. I'm autistic have a hard time making friends because I am not allowed to socialize in school. They're more focused on my IEP. I'm extremely lonely. These older men took advantage of my loneliness and desperation to talk to someone that they blackmailed me. They told me if I didn't send, they wouldn't be my friends. Eventually they dropped the case. I was a lucky one to not be charged with a felony.
Edit: for content, I'm a Trans male and didn't know what I was doing was wrong. I thought it was normal until it was pointed out to me. I have nightmares and go through trauma therapy. I'm only 16 now and so glad I'm one of the lucky ones.

Would you care to tell us more about your ideas in this petition?
We need to improve the world's view of intergenerational sex and even improve the laws and the criminal justice system, making it more, shall we say, "intelligent".
Sorry for my bad text. I don't speak English!

@@k_fuente2022 I who have never sexually abused an adult or child (and never will) have been calledby the police a sex offender never having done such a heinous act and am writing this petition to adress the concerns surrounding the current sex offender registration system wich i believe has become an inefficient and costly endeveour. The innefficiency mainly coming from using the same term for different crimes involved (wich has diluted its effectiveness). The current sex offender list fails to diferentiate between ages, sexes, and the individuals who have comitted violent sex crimes and those who have commited non violent sex crimes and children are on the list and when someone is guilty of breaking a sex law at themoment it dosent matter weather theyare a danger to society or not they just get put on the list without to much reason and no research into there past. The sensible reasons for being placed on that list are: . .1) Because you are a danger to society .2) Because you have shown that you will repeat what you have done .Labeling a person as a sex offender for any other reason is just taking away some of a persons freedom and is just done by somebody who wishes to show others that he has the power to do so. unfortunately for that person its a democratic society we live in now. Many people are trying to alter the system to give it better reform but already being labeled a sex offender (even though i am a non dangerous sex offender) gives me a different look at the laws. Should this law apply to a completely innocent young man who has unknowingly dated an underaged girl because she lied about her age???? .Ex murdererers and ex thieves enter and leave the country daily without problems - but people labeled as sex offenders who may just have done no more than look at indecent pictures or given indecent exposure have problems - justice??? .Could someone please give us good reason why the police are allowed to constantlly enter an ex - sex offenders house and take away some of his personal privacy when he has not shown he will repeat what he has done why do the police think the ex offender will repeat what they have done even if they have not shown that they will anyway? Whilst they are not allowed in an ex thieves house to look for stolen property on a regular basis. wether the theif has shownthey will repeat there crime or not ( the risks are the same for both people) .Should a person who has collected 10,000 indecent images have the same punish ment as one who has 6 (by perhaps catching the wrong button on his computer)

i who have never sexually abused an adult or a child (and never will) have been called by the police a sex offender despite never having commited such a heinous act i am writing this petition to explainthe concerns surounding the current sex offender registation laws that i have because i believe it has become an inneficient and costloy system, the ineficiency mainly coming from naming its many crimes undeer one name (which has diluted its effectiveness) The current sexoffeder laws do not allow for age, or to diferentiate between those involved in seriously violent sex, or those involved in ilegal but non violent sex and also children are on the list. so if any of the sex rules are broken the person is made to be a sex offender without to much research into there past but if someone were to use thelaws properly theywould be .1)if that person was a danger to society .2)if that personhas shown they will repeat what they have done.. .Labeling a person a sex offender for any other reason is just done by somebody who wants to show that they can - buut unfortunately for them its a democratic society we live in today. Many people are trying to alter the system to give it a better reform-- is it fair that an innocent man who unknowingly dates an underage girl(who lies about her age) the becomes a sex offender? .murderers and theives enter and leave the country without problem but non dangerous sex offenders who are no danger to the public have problems - justice??? ---(you put with my spelling ill put up with yours -the rest of my sysstems similar to this there are 100,000sex offends in the uk ive beenrunning my petitition7months now and have 1880 uk sex offs on it

Several of the NARSOL videos are from conferences several years ago. Are there videos of more recent speaker presentations. Which states have had new legislation that has made life as a RSO less restricted
Please cite studies by name, that prove that sex offenders are not the threat that the public and law makers fear.

Is consensual sex wrong? Why is it wrong? This idea was created and IMPOSED ON THE WORLD by radical feminists in the early 1980s through an anti-pornography movement started by these women in the United States. This group of women had the support of conservatives and the church. There is a study pointing out that in tribes where children have sexual self-determination, psychosexual problems are non-existent. After contact with Western white men, these tribes went through a process of decay and psychosexual illnesses became present (read you Tabuzone by Mark Norlik). Judith Levine's book provides an in-depth scientific study of how child sexual repression leads to serious social disorders. In addition, studies by psychologist Susan Clancy and psychologists Bauserman, Tormovitch and Rind prove that a child is not harmed by having had sexual relations with an adult. According to these and other scholars on the subject, it is social demands, lawsuits and police actions that are responsible for the psychological damage caused to children.
For all this, the fault does not lie with you, but with a sick Western society that has viewed children's sexuality as taboo for centuries. During the Victorian and Williamine eras, children were locked up in freezing cellars and starved for masturbating. Boys had their vas deferens removed because they masturbated. In Germany, children were beheaded or even burned at the stake because they masturbated. In all these atrocities, there was state and clerical power, standardizing and "guarding" children's sexuality under the hypocritical guise of protecting them (Norlik and Naudè). In reality, what was being protected was an ideology. Unfortunately, the West is still repeating the same mistakes of the past. We are still in the stone age when it comes to sexual science. I SEE HISTERY IN NORTH AMERICAN SOCIETY when it comes to intergenerational sex. What's even more frightening is that this HISTERY HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN THE UNITED STATES JUDICIARY. In this way, cases like that of teachers AMANDA NASSER (Virginia) and JESSICA LANGFORD (Ohio) denounce the EXTREME BRUTALITY with which the US justice system treats its citizens. In other words, the United States is a terrible example to the world. Laws should be more intelligent, relativizing and individualizing each case.
Pedophilia is one of the topics I've been looking into as a way of not letting myself be idiotized by the media (television, Google, magazines, newspapers, etc.). To this end, I have read dozens of scientific articles and books on this delicate subject. The books I have access to have not been written or translated into my language. Many are written in English, French, German, Spanish or Russian. This forces me to translate them. But I love doing it. It's fun for me.
I'm sorry for writing such a long text and I'm sorry for the bad writing. I don't speak English.
      Don't worry, be happy!
