Driving to Chilliwack using Backroads. North Parallel Road, and RV Camp, etc

Today I drive from Abbotsford to Chilliwack using the parallel roads. What used to be a park and ride parking lot has now turned into an RV camp ground for the less fortunate, which is a very sad scene if you ask me. It wasn't always like this. People are struggling to live in Canada with the high cost of living and lack of housing. Thoughts?
