  • before you change anything in game make sure you change the launcher to 64 bit, via the cog on the launcher.
    just a quick one, so you wanna make sure you cap your fps to 60hz/fps
    have engine speed on very high, make sure surface reflections is off or on high and make sure u have 60hz and v sync on at the bottom of advanced graphics.
    lord of the rings online is a very laggy game anyway so its impossible to reduce all the lag but i hope this helps for you it did for me.
    but lotro has so many settings its best to play around with them based on ur pc specs

    It has recently come to my attention that all the EU servers are EU only in name. The EU servers are still located in the US, which explains why I am rocking 115ms. I've been looking on forums expecting people to riot, but it seems LOTRO fans located outside of the states are perfectly ok with it.

    Just an update as of "December 2022", I have a new pc and even my own fixes don't fix some of my problems so disclaimer this video isn't a fix for all, it might help some as I can see from the comments and as it did on my old pc. but as we all know lotro is a **** when it comes to trying to remove lag or trying to improve fps
    so, all we can hope for is SSG graphical update sometime in the future fixes a lot more problems.

    Great video! I have a high end pc and the stuttering was driving me crazy. This helped a lot!

    I discovered from this video that I never looked into the Troubleshooting area in the options. My FPS slider in there was set to Max. I dropped it down to 60 as it should be. I did some walking around in Bree and its better there but still having 10 fps or so. In the overall World playing it seems to be better, as well as on Stablemaster rides from A to B. I feel like that FPS slider should be in the Advanced Graphics option screen. At the bottom with the Refresh Rate settings. For reference, I have a 2070 Super basically same CPU as you have. Old game engine not much you can do I guess. Thanks for your helpful video.
    Also... It actually locked my FPS to 58 but I have seen other games do this when using V-Sync and stuff. As long as you aren't getting any screen tearing, you're good.

    Now find a way to fix the server lag and you are golden. Multiple people in a group on different places and we freeze the same time. Interactions with NPCs and mining nodes can take up to 10s to proceed in random moments. And still the same baboons in chat blaming everything else besides the servers lol.

    Hi, thanks for the help :) I have a i7 8700 @ 3.20 GHz so I changed to 60 fps and turned up the textures but was wondering...but mine says x9 not 11 and its greyed out/ Update, after searching awhile i found a solution and fixed it so it gave the option to use 11 :)

    I see no difference between even the 32 and 64-bit client, nor the cache options in the launcher. The engine is just awful.

    who the fuck games at 60fps anymore?

    • @choonblaze
      @choonblaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I said when he said "this game can't handle anything more than 60 fps" xD
      I don't even remember what sub 144hz lotro felt like anymore

      @@choonblaze well I'd like to know how you don't dip. I'm running an 19 10850k and an rtx 3080ti and it's dipping down under 60 in towns! Once went to 40 for no reason in a small village wtf! You not running ultra?

    • @choonblaze
      @choonblaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mickeymouse7727 well it's the game engine's fuck ups mostly. You need to turn down some of the cpu eating settings from ultra to high like reflections, draw distance etc. Turn off stencil and blob shadows, they aren't needed, you got them better with dx10 dynamic shadows set to high. The small villages of the late lotro are awfully optimized because of the high amounts of npcs. I never dip below 100 fps. It's usually 120-144fps everywhere except festival areas with many people around lol. Even then at least 80 fps
