The female singer is Sadhana Sargam not Alka Yagnik. And Rick is spot on regarding the sync of the lyrics and the slowmo. This song was a love anthem in 90s and still is for a lot of us. The movie is great too. 😍
After all these years, I only realised it today that it was a comple slow motion song... I had never noticed it consciously that way... and that they must have, in reality, shot the song's video with the music playing much faster and then later matched the pace... It seems even more fantastic now!
7:24 They explained this technique in the making of the video, the actors had to Lip sync in double the speed, so that when it was slowmo'd it was perfectly in sync. Nice observation Rick.
Actually that's not camera work ...Aamir Khan told this in one of his Interviews that the choreography was like that ... that slow Mo is not camera work ... they did that physically and that's how lips syn with the song
People used to invite their neighbors in their homes on Sundays for lunch, To wait for a call in front of a telephone not mobile, Keep calling 100 on that telephone and doing pranks without thinking about consequences, Play in the park, Watching Shaktimaan, Captain Vyom and other Sunday stuff.. This is the most romantic song about first love ever made in Bollywood. FYI, "Sikandar" is the Asian name for Alexander the great. "Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar" literally means he who wins becomes Alexander i.e. he conqueres all.
The worst thing about prison was the... was the Dementors. They... were flying all over the place, and they were scary. And they'd come down, and they'd suck the soul out of your body, and it hurt!
I have been requesting this for ages.. please watch this movie...it's classic. I have lost the count how many times I have watched it. But the climax of movie still gives me adrenaline rush. It might not have an official trailer. But directly watch this movie. It's a must watch.
Lyricist of this song poet Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote his first film song for a 1945 film "Shahjahan" for the first super star of Hindi Cinema K.L.Sehgal.
There is a classic iconic song from the 70s without really being cheesy called "Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas"...translated "second to second my hearts always with you"...Simple and beautifully picturised.. Someone needs to sub and send it to you..
The filming technique is something like lip syncing to the song in real time while filming with a very sped up version of the song, so that when the video is slowed down it matches the track of the song. The same technique was used while filming the slow motion song (SRK & Deepika) called 'Titli' from the film Chennai Express. They show the behind the scenes of SRK & Deepika shooting clips of the song as its played out loud in a hilarious sped up version, so the slo-mo shots of the song match the track pace. As usual, great observation Rick!! actually Amir had mentioned in an interview that they had to shoot and lip sync it in double the speed so that in slo-mo it looks real time!!
You are a genius Rick.. u got it spot on. The song was picturized in real time with the song playing at a faster rate. In 90s this was a sort of innovation!!!
Aamir khan is the first crush of every girl who was a teen in the 90’s. And this song was the anthem of most youngsters back then! We wud be lying if we all haven’t tried doing the SLO-Mo falling on a bunch of clothes or swaying with a sweater at home at least once! Makes one so nostalgic! Been humming the song whole day today! Thanks for this👌
Rick got it absolutely correct. The actors are lipsinking to a fast played audio track of this beautiful song. The hero (Aamir Khan) and his on-screen brother both had their love interests but only Aamir and Ayesha are filmed in slo mo.
This song made every boy girl Romeo Juliet in old days😅😅 and today also people love this song which feels new every time u hear when u fall in love😅😅😅😅😅😁😁😁
I love that when Rick opened the pack, I immediately thought Kobrin was gonna be mad at Rick for eating during the filming, instead he just asked, "Can I have some?" like a little kid. That made me really happy.
It's technically not slow motion. It's called high-speed filming or shooting. Normal filming speed in India is 24 frames per second (fps). But in high speed, the song would be played in 2x speed while shooting, to which actors play in normal speed and is film-recorded in high-speed at 48 fps. Later when the film is played in normal speed (ie. at 24 fps), it gives an illusion of slow motion. But technically it's called high-speed filming. This beautiful technique was first adapted by Director Maniratnam in a Telugu movie called Geetanjali (in a beautiful music video: 'Jallanta Kavvinta', must watch and react, if you haven't) in 1989.
