It's because at the time that was the only discovery protocol sounder base on the system. The default "alert tone" for the kentec was still alternating, and was unable to change without software.
Symphony is basically the higher pitched version of the XP95 and intelligent base sounder is the lower pitched version of the XP95 but all of the systems sound good C-tech also sounds really good I might get one but I won’t wire it
Interesting, I do seem to have quite a lot of isolators on the system as all the base sounders/bsdr b have isolators. I’ll look at the wiring but I’m pretty sure it would of pissed of the panel if it was a wiring fault, But I’ll see anyway.
isolators are to cut out sections of the network that are short circuited. they don't filter interference. if you get a section of cable between two isolators and short it out you will find the yellow LEDs come on, on both and the panel will report open loop along with missing devices on the shorted section of cable if any. apollo have designed their protocols to be quite robust against interference, they will take quite a bit before data becomes to fuzzy to decode, the interference can however be amplified by the sounders if it gets past the filter circuit designed to filter the power from the data on the two wire network. all FP200 cable is screened for data integrity that's that foil wrapping the pair, follow the manufactures instructions on where to connect this to in each device and most importantly at the panel where the screen is connected to earth.
@@testlogs9005 Yeah I had that with my intelligent call point and KAC call points isolator leds lighting up, but it was handy as I knew it was the wires going between the two that were shorting

when I was in year 1 of school a piece of the fire alarm system was struck by lightning at that time I didn't like loud noises and so every lets say 2-3 mins it would not do a evacuation tone like normal it would just randomly beep for 2-3 seconds then stop and so I was sitting with a teacher and we were right below a smoke detector but I thought it was a sounder so I said "we are under a fire alarm" cos I didn't know they were called sounders the teacher lied and said" its not a fire alarm its a smoke detector" and I believed it now I know smoke detectors so also make sound
Few things i've picked up on, i can't tell if it's just your video but your sounders sound really low (Needs to be 85db.) And FP would be noice, other than that, decent.
The system will be converted to FP200 eventually I just don’t have some at hand at the moment plus my parents don’t want me making large holes in the ceilings of bedrooms at the moment. I’ll do a check on the db levels and the volume of the sounder beacon base as it does seem quiet, I reckon it’s dip switch 8.
@@145-k1b the integrated base sounders seem to be on full volume, however I’m not sure about the sounder beacon base. But the intelligent does seem louder and take over the sounder beacon base.

also the reason the symphoni is crackling is because either you have wired the loop the wrong way into it or you don't have enough isolators.
