The biome cycling series you guys did was groundbreaking and I am grateful for all the effort you guys put in on behalf of the saltwater community, keep it up and much love.
Will we even get to see the results of the final stage of the Biome experiment??? I was really curious about the results of the ocean direct sand versus dry sand mixed with mud....
Love the series. Getting back into the hobby again and binge watched! So much info…Only thing I’m not clear on is if you use live rock, can you use the ammonium chloride and nitrifying bacteria method to cycle? Will this just kill off all the good stuff in the rock? My plan is using caribsea arag-alive sand and 50% live rock from an established reef tank from my LFS.
Quick question: How long did you wait between the end of the nitrogen cycle/adding fish, and adding copepods and turning the lights on? Were those done directly one after another or was it allowed to sit for a while in between?
omg right? I thought I must have missing something because the playlist just... ended before talking about the results of the last phase of the experiment? What the heck guys
Going to try and add Galaxy Pods after cycle which should be next week. How long after adding pods and phyto before adding first 2 fish? I have a RS G2+550
Ending 🎶 not bad.. just lol that once you make the connection to PBS kids segment closeout music... you can't undo it. 😮 My sympathies tho, I've created, copywritten, animated & editted digital broadcast content since 2001.. Annd.. The Royalty Free music struggle ...is REAL. 😂
Good video.. nice work. The only thing missing is 5 sec telling us Which Copepods eat Which. I get the decision not too, ("kiss"), just buy algae barns ecopods! , (kidding) you are making sure the point is diversity, and each plays a role, so we dont all go just buy which one's eat diatoms & dinos, however, i counterpoint with the fact that the Real main point is information, & what if we have copepods but have an obvious need for more that play a certain role? Your assumptious reasoning not too is still solid though, so a quick follow up video this leads into perhaps? Again, good work.. this is alot to cover in one video, esp for someone new, but you pulled ut off nicely and i think with a like & a couple extra viewss *hint* , this info will really stick. 😊

I love the ethical stocking idea. Really nice to see you pushing this as this is the future of reefing.
Love that series! Not just for beginners also…
Thanks for normal human speech without any music sounds in background. 💚👍
Did you add the live sand on day one, or only after the initial cycle?

Great video. I’m headed to algaebarn right now!

I'm gonna keep asking until you confirm if the Biome series is ever gonna be concluded or not

@KiaraPyrenei Was a great series, so interesting. Gutted they never did Phase 2 and concluded it.😢
If it is not selling products they are not going to finish it......
@DoYouEvenFishTank That would be such a shame but I fear you are correct 😔
What light is that? I’ve been digging on the channel and can’t find it mentioned anywhere

What IM Tank is that behind you, Matt?
Are Peacock Mantis Shrimp reef safe?
Nice video! Do you accept stickers from other fellow Reef TH-camrs?!

I think the editor forgot to add the effects and graphs lol
Very interesting 🤔
Always trying to sell something. Find ya an old school reef keeper, let them teach you without selling you on expensive shiz. Happy reefing!
LMFAO. BRS has been dead for quite some time and I think Matthew is no longer with the team.
If you are using a refugium, dump the pods in there. Also, use a fuge, don't be a stooge.
When you say you are going to do things right by only adding aquaculture fish are you implying if you have wild caught fish we are doing wrong?
And that simply skips over the huge environmental damage most aquaculture fish are causing.......
This dude is getting annoying
Or you don‘t cycle at all and start with loads of corals. They bring the bacteria and consume the phosphate and nitrate. Also no ugly phase.
to be fair, they DID test that method as part of their biome experiment
