Sawano himself can be considered a genre of music due to how distinct and powerful his songs are. I'm sure you would enjoy other tracks done by him from animated titles like "Attack on Titan" such as "Vogel im Käfig" and "Apple Seed". Any ways, great work as always Marco!
Hell, Evangelion Rebuilds could work well too with how much orchesta and choirs they have. Same goes for that last abomination of Berserk anime. Animation sucked major donkey but the music was great(like "My Brother" song as an example) or earlier Berserk music by Susumu Hirasawa(or overall, all stuff by Susumu).
When a composer is so unique every piece he makes has a certain drop point named the "sawano drop" This man has no equal. He is in his own plain of existence. His ability to touch your emotions, to make you feel the struggle, the rise, the sadness, the glory of life. Sawano is able to touch an unexplainable feeling that can only be described as "the indomitable human spirit" in every track he's made, he is unparalleled.
Hiroyuki Sawano might be a very nuanced composer with his instrumentation, but I never shy away from saying he is without a doubt the Hans Zimmer of Japan. It's gotten to the point where I'm willing to watch any anime or play any game just because he made the soundtrack for it. No coincidence, since he is at the forefront of golden ones like Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kill la Kill, and many many other legendary projects
@@AdalHRivera it's a mobile game with a lot of gacha aspects BUT the story is freaking awesome. Once you get a hang of the game and a team that suits you, you can basically do anything plus everything is doable fully free to play.
86 is prob one of the best depictions of war and descriminations i've seen produced recently produced in an anime medium and Sawano's soundtracks make it all the better
This song actually has a vocal version Its called "The Way" check it out sometime Since xenoblade X was played by all 10 of us, not many people know this
Theme X is probably a better introduction to X's soundtrack coming from 1, 2 and 3, X rarely goes for these orchestral pieces so songs like Theme X or Sylvalum segue better from the numbered games into the more Sawano tracks like Wir Fliegen or Noctilum.
i hope you listen to some of his other works such as his work in attack on titan like Vogel im kafig, Zero eclipse or call of silence he is a fantastic composer
I AM SCREAMINNNNNNG INTERNALLY Xenoblade Chronicles X is one of the BEST soundtracks I have ever listened to. The game is insanely immersive, epic, and cool. Please, anyone who likes JRPG should play this masterpiece. Sawano of course hard carries the music, and 90% of the music are a bop to listen to. The planet is alien, and the music is original as an interesting mix of orchestra and electronic, fitting for the epic massive continent you're in. I need Xenoblade Chronicles X2. Glad you gave a listen to this. Ironically one of the problem with this game is that anytime your Skell flies, it interrupts the music. Also some music are really kind of weird, but you kind of grow to appreciate it (NLA themes and rap). If Theme X merits such reaction, I wonder what's yours on the overworld themes.
X has one of my favorite OST's in gaming, if not straightup my favorite. The songs are a bit questionable/weird sometimes, and frankly how it's actually put to use in cutscenes is often inadequate, but it really has its unique feeling. Sawano music sound a lot alike often, but X is probably the most unique things I have heard from him. I listened to a lot of the songs before the game even released and they alone got me so hyped up. I almost 100%'ed that game, I never put that much into open world games usually, especially not before that.
This song along with Sylvalum theme song are my favorites,i wish I could just forget about this game and play it once again, I still remember when I got to the shores of Sylvalum for the first time and I cried when it turned night after being with spores weather all the time
i also need to play it. im hoping for a switch port, but if that never comes out, i refuse to buy a wii u so ill probably just emulate it if it never gets a port
@@dasfaodfadsfanfklawe Trust me, play it on CEMU right now. I don't see a reason to wait 10 years. With a decent pc, the game runs smoothly without any trouble. The base game already looked amazing, just lacked of high res and high fps. I played it on 2K/60fps and I have a GTX 1060 GB.
XCX Has some of the best songs in the series, and I'm so glad you're listening to them, despite how different they are from the soundtracks of the other games!
Next to Shimomura, Sawano is easily my top favorite composer out of japan. I'm deep into the mecha scene which he composes a LOT for and I can easily say none of his tracks miss. Even the work he's done on non mecha stuff is absolutely beautiful.
If only it ever was realeased somewhere else than on Wii U, would've had such a good recognition. One of the most refreshing and inspiring Space Opera themes and storylines and artistic direction... So sad it got ingnored.
xenoblade x has this thing where if you like it you love it Like I know people who don't know it and people who dislike it outright But if it clicks with someone, it *clicks*
@@GregMeije i've started XBX last year on my WiiU again, and damn...the graphics are so amazing for such an old console. Didn't had it in my mind so good
Yesss this finally dropped! This is one of my all time favorite tracks from the game, there is something just so powerful about it. The perfect workout song.
Hiroyuki Sawano's music were usually involved on anime OSTs [Aldnoah.Zero, Attack on Titan, Guilty Crown, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and Eighty-Six (86) to name some of his works] and sometimes in games too particularly Xenoblade Chronicles X. I'm looking forward for more Xenoblade Chronicles X related tracks.
Speaking of Xenoblade X, such an enjoyable experience, especially with the soundtrack. I remember spending so much time just in the character creator because of the insane bop introducing me to the game. Entering the city for the first time, hitting the field for the first time and the first boss battle were all so memorable almost entirely because of the music alone
The music in this game is so fascinating, from the fascinating names of the music (with hidden meanings) to the lyrics of the battle themes (ignoring the silly German in Wir Fliegen, it and the Flight theme are my favorites) . . I really missed out on this game by not having a Wii U, the exploration and giant monster battles look like they might be right up my alley... yeah, it's one of my favorite games that I've never actually played
Sawano is a wild composer. No matter how someone may feel about his individual music pieces, he is for sure one of a kind and never fails to surprise whenever he's brought onto a project. Xenoblade X gets a lot of flak in the community but I believe it has the most compelling world and some really cool music
If you're going to listen to ThemeX over and over definitely give the rest of Xeno X's soundtrack a go. Unfortunately most of the track titles are incredibly messy so it's hard to recommend specific ones. There is a vocal track that uses ThemeX as a basis for most of it, which is an interesting evolution of the theme, but the one everyone talks about is the sensibly -named "uncontrollable"
I wouldn't call Uncontrollable the best or most interesting track, even among the vocal ones. I think that one in particular stuck with a lot of people because those battles could actually last for a while giving you the chance to actually listen to it. That being said, I f-ing love Uncontrollable, it's great.
@@crazykim The reason Uncontrollable is so popular is that heavy rocking anime music isn't really used a lot in gaming, and aside from Theme X, it's really the first time you're hit with that kind of music, and during a big boss fight too. And like you say, those fights actually lasted a while. For example, even watching people play through the game, it's rare that a fight doesn't stop right as Black Tar's lyrics actually start. For me though some of the best ones are Wir Fliegen, Your Voice, The Key We've Lost, and my favorite is Sylvalum's day theme.
@@bellidrael7457 Well, it's not used a lot in big titles, not at the time at least. But I promise you there's plenty of that in more anime themed games. As far as vocal tracks goes, it's either The Key We've Lost or Melancholia for me that's my favorites (by a small margin). Melancholia really doesn't have the right to go as hard as it does. As for the others, it's kinda hard to pick favorites, but probably both Noctilum, both Oblivia. The Ganglion theme is also up there, CODENAMEZ as well... man I can't just pick a few... I think I personally like the Sylvalum night theme better if I remember correctly
Uncontrollable stands out because of how out left field it is. You fight a huge boss and you get hit with a rock ballad of all things. It's so weird in how it doesn't seem to match at all with the mood of the fight, but after you've done a couple tyrants you're almost feeling compelling to sing along
I never expected to see Hiroyuki Sawano here. I think He's one of the best composers of the decade. The famous ,,Sawano Drop" always hits hard, no matter what the song. He made music for many anime shows and also games including League of Legends, upcoming Blue Protocol, and as you heard, Xenoblade Chronciles X. But Attack on Titan is where He really shines. I think it's one of the best OST's to this date. PURE GREATNESS.
It's not the best anime but aldnoah zero personally was his best work in my opinion. If you haven't seen it give it a watch. There are moments when his music is basically its own character. If nothing else listen to mkaliez and no differences.
I personally believe Xenoblade X is his best work, it's when he was collaborating with vocalists that really fit his style, I dunno how I feel about the newer vocalists he brings on
Hiroyuki Sawano is like King Midas, everything he touches turns to gold. Can, and have, listened to his compositions for hours. Makes grocery shopping an interesting time for sure lol. After a while you notice very similar themes in a lot of his tracks so that part can get a bit repetitive but still very enjoyable listening.
This are the lyrics to the song. I feel lonely even in the crowd Every face, tired eyes It's not for me I wonder how does my life go on? Many chances I have seen before But no more Somebody knocked on my door I woke up feeling empty like a hall way And away The sweet days have past (sic) me by There's no storm it won't stop I better wait more ※ Just everything about you Can't stop my self Something's just begun Tell me why I will think about you Don't go away I will stay for you Frustration hit me hard, this morning It's the light of my heart, and only I can see How much I wanna wait for the moment No place for me had hope And now it's different Sometimes it's hard for me But everybody follows what they want Don't you know? All sweet days have past (sic) me by There's no storm, it won't stop Someone told me so ※ Repeat Another day Another time Another sky, We've seen before Believe your self Believe your words Believe your choices made you strong Remember me? Remember days That you're the only one who can live my life with smiles and hopes So I said everything about you Can't stop my self Something's just begun Tell me why I will think about you Don't go away I will wait for you
This sounds like a grand and hopeful adventure against some significant obstacles but there's no hint of doubt that you'll overcome it. You even have a subtle smile on your face but not overconfident bravado.
If you listen to more music from Xenoblade X, then take note of how Sawano uses leitmotifs. You heard at least one in this piece. He weaves them in so perfectly to the music, seriously one of the best modern composers.
Hiroyuki Sawano had to come up at some point, I knew it! lol Haven't heard this one yet myself, but they're an incredible musician overall, and I couldn't be more happy to see them on this channel
Oh, also, something you've probably already noticed if you've listened to a few of Hiroyuki Sawano's music (though i can't say for sure since I haven't joined you for a lot of livestreams, sorry!) are these little... I don't know what to call them, electronic squeaks(?) that make themselves known in a decent amount of his songs, particularly when the game/anime the song is in has futuristic or mechanical themes. Not really sure what they're there for, but they make for a pretty neat signature that tells you "oh, this is Hiroyuki Sawano, sweet!".
One of the things that I will always praise Sawano for is how he never, ever lets musical convention limit his music. Sure, he has a very definite grasp of conventional musical theory, but he spends nearly as much time subverting it as he does utilizing it, letting his grand orchestral suites carry the melody and beat while soulful guitar and biting electronic noises underpin it all the create something familiar, yet alien, bristling with beautiful harmonics and intricate rhythms. The man has a truly unique ability to bring fantastic and impossible worlds to life through his music, all while creating some of the most inspiring and heart-wrenching tracks you'll ever hear. Sawano doesn't belong to a genre; the man *is* a genre. Tracks like aLIEz are favorites of mine for much that reason.
I love how in most of your videos I've seen, you pause throughout to give some thoughts/explanation, but this one hits so hard it didn't stop til the end! Hiroyuki Sawano is a legend!
Well, I'd say you hit a nerve with a lot of people. This is proably the most anime you'll get on this channel. :D As many have said, while the instrumentals go hard, I'd say that his pieces with vocals have so much more oomph.
Also, Sawano's music has such a distinct style that as a casual listener many of his tracks sound so god damn similar. The have a very familiar structure and have vocals that are always, always more mumble/badly pronounced english or german and seldomly japanese.
You should absolutely do more reactions to X music now that we’re getting a definitive edition. MONOX, NO.EX01, Requiem, So nah so fern, CODENAMEZ, black tar, and The Key We’ve Lost all deserve to be heard.
Overall another great vid. Sawano is one of my favorite composers and X is one of his best albums imo. Also liked how you thought of lyrics for the main melody at around 3 minutes in, very close to the theme of the song's actual lyrics. If you want to look more into it, the song that this melody was made out of/for is called The Way. Pretty much in general though, this track specifically, as you have come to realize from your pinned comment, is pretty much just a brief summary and introduction to the different leitmotifs and themes surrounding the OST of Xenoblade X that Sawano made, hence the title the Theme [of] [Xenoblade] X, Theme X, with the X being read as "Cross". Suffice it to say, I hope you don't have too many issues with this going forward, especially if you plan to cover more Sawano tracks (be it from X, other games, or if you make the decision to include anime), there's lots of good music to appreciate, but Sony Music is very trigger happy on the claim button to music they own and Sawano is one of their most prominent signed composers on the JP side.
Xenoblade X has many bangers. The final boss theme, the major boss theme, Uncontrollable, Noctilum Night, Oblivia, Luxaar's theme, the title..... And then theres the NLA themes, which play a lot. And I don't know if they are just bad or awful on purpose.
You picking up in the artificial nature of the song vs natural handmade instruments is something I didn't think about. There's a later story revelation that makes this impactful.
I just found your channel today after looking for SSBB Theme, and now I see that you reacted to one of my favorite games music. It's great and your videos are great. I HIGHLY recommend you listen to the vocal version of this song. I feel like the lyrics might even throw your off, or maybe not. It's really great.
@@MarcoMeatball I think it's called "The Way" but the naming of the songs in Xenoblade Chronicles X can be confusing sometimes. Again, love the content so far
Very nice of you to react to this music! One of my personal fave and it has been on loop for me when I this game launched late 2015. I still feel nostalgic and emotional whenever I hear this song. Props to Sawano-san for a very good music!
Oni Musa here o/ Glad to see you react to Sawano. (: He has other amazing songs used in Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress as well. All of his stuff is great though, to be honest.
Sawano is a name that I see on anything, game or anime, and I will check it out for that reason alone. His soundtracks go SO hard. Really helpful for me as a writer too!
It's been some time since I tried to understand why Sawano's music hits really different. Why there's no other music that can reach this level for me. When I listen to his pieces, it's usually like I'm being fully immersed or even transported to another universe. The emotions I feel and longing for feeling more of it are hard to describe. It's almost physically addictive... So, I freaked out when I saw your reaction on Sawano's music. Now I think that maybe you can help me understand... you're really good at explaining all the magical tricks that music use on our brains. For instance, there is particularly one song in Xenoblade X OST that puzzles me the most. It has some difficult convoluted name, but has the second title "Oblivia Night". It seems simple as hell - but every time I listen to it I feel my heart's strings being pulled. I can listen to it for hours like I'm under hypnosis. Would really appreciate if you ever give this piece a shot and tell about it's composition. My another favorites are Wir fliegen, So nah, so fern and Melancholia. Don't really expect you react to everything, just want to mention it for other people that will read my comment, or maybe even to myself because it took me some time to figure out my top 3 ha ha However, when I think about it... if you ever decide to do a whole stream dedicated to Sawano's music, I'm sure It'll be hella fun.
Oh, my GOD. If you like more of Hiroyuki Sawano and love MECHS? Check out any of his compositions from Aldnoah zero. Probably some of his most underrated work, but some of his BEST.
Aldnoah zero and Unicorn gundam are easily my top favorite soundtracks he has worked. I still get goosebumps from the unicorn transformation sequence with the iconic theme.
Damn, this is SO GOOD. It feels like a defiant boss theme, when we're fighting someone who's beaten us down again and again and we're not giving up because what lies beyond them is too important, we'll find a way through them, and we're doing it RIGHT NOW!
His compositions let his composers voice out a lot so if you listen to his tracks from other anime or games you can tell its him. Also his track naming scheme is very big brain. Great reaction marco. :D
I don't know much of anything about the IP connected to this song but I can envision an absolutely EPIC and inspiring and adventurous anime sequence to go with this song lol.
I am absolutely ecstatic that you are reviewing Hiyoruki Sawano's work, especially the underrated Xenoblade X OST. You MUST give his other works a listen, his contributions to Attack on Titan is magnificent!
Hey Marco! Xenoblade Chronicles X is my favorite VG OST of all time and the one that I've listened to the most, so I had to come watch this! Your reaction really made me smile. I really loved your analysis on this, it was amazing! I hope that you got a chance to listened to the whole thing. But if you don't have the time, I would suggest you check out Melancholia and Yakou Mori (This is the song that I showed to Bjorn during our first ever Hear Me Out episode :D).
Actually so happy to see Xenoblade X here. I love the game and the soundtrack so much. Please make more videos on the music from this game, there are so many incredible tracks from Sawano that go perfectly with the beautiful world that Monolith soft created. It is a genuine tragedy that more people didn't experience this masterpiece of a game.
Holy Cow, Marco reacting to one of my three favorite game soundtracks! I'm so glad Sawano resonated so much with him, this particular soundtrack has such great tracks. Here's hoping for Sylvalum!
Xenoblade X was def a trip! Coming out after 1 and before 2 was even announced. More science/tech than the other games. And the OST complements the game's premise. Humans fleeing an alien attack and having to colonize a brand new planet. Scavenging for resources, exploring the new territories, and fighting the local lifeforms and other humanoid factions. Also giant robots!
To this day Sawano meant just anime to me. But now... Yes, I am fascinated by this music and found another piece to add to my collection thanks to you Marco, again and again, but I'm not surprised. I mean, It is Sawano.
I have always wanted to meet someone else who gets this much into the beautiful little intricacies of music! It's so awesome to watch your face and body language as the song rolls over you. Thanks, man!
I know that you can't react anime music on TH-cam, but if you like this kind of melody from sawano, Gundam Unicorn ost is one of his best work along side with attack on Titan. RX-0, Unicorn, mobile suits and on your mark are very iconic track from him
I think I just found my soul mate's channel This man moves to music EXACTLY the same way I do, it was almost like I was watching my older self listen to this song for the first time. The surprised expression when the song doesn't go in the direction you thought it was going and then quickly adapting to the new pattern, the focussed eyebrows, snappy neck I'm gonna friggin ENJOY BEING HERE MAN
the name 'simply' means "track number 2, Main Theme for Xenoblade X". (Also, it's supposed to be "xenoblade cross" Also, there is a vocal version of this track, named "the way" (yes, some tracks have an actual, readable, title), and I really recommend listening to it, it's one of my favorite xenoblade tracks, all games considered.
oh my god i was literally listening to this today. it wasn't a good day so i just put some noise on, but it definitely hit all the right spots in all the right ways. Sawano delivers. Also, like, oh my goodness, YAY, XENOBLADE X IS BEING SEEN! There's so much more from Sawano & co. in this little dark corner of the Xenoblade universe - I can picture (and hear, i guess) you having an absolute blast with pretty much the whole album. Hecc, the whole game's a good'un. Mostly for the mechs. As always, absolutely adore seeing how much you get into the groove, as it were - I know I do the same. Thanks for the smiles, man
Thank you for giving XENOBLADE X some love. It’s the most underrated game in the series! It truly deserves a SWITCH RELEASE!! And yes, Sawano is a phenomenal composer!! BUT PLEASE, DO “UNCONTROLLABLE”!!! It’s my favorite song of the game!
Yep although much of the content relies on internet connectivity and with events that had an extreme boss that relied on the entirety of those who owned X to chip down its health makes the game extremely hard to enjoy right now as it's been 8 years since it's release on the Wii U in 2015 as not many play the game anymore. They'd have to to remaster Xenoblade Chronicles X as well as the main gimmick was the real-time map function that the Gamepad was used for wouldn't work on the Switch as you don't have the ability to use the TV *AND* have it in Handheld mode. so yeah unless Nintendo can find a workaround, a remaster for the Switch is *HIGHLY* unlikely. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for X to be rereleased but realistically it's not going to happen.
I love your analysis of this song being about the strength of the human spirit refusing to be held back or held down in the face of adversity. Xenoblade X is a story about what little remains of humanity stranded and struggling to thrive on a strange new world, while a hostile force actively hunts humanity to extinction. You have a way of hitting the nail on the head very well with your analysis.
Why is your live video listening to all the xenoblade x songs 2 hours gone? Though I really like it and I always hear your videos when I want to sleep as my lullaby
Omg I've been wanting you to react to Xenoblade Chronicles X songs for a long time, this is one of the best themes ever, and this game is so underrated! Thank you so much! I mean it, you give my heart so much joy rn! ❤️
SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING The artificial vs biological part is interesting because you learn about 1/3 in that your character remotely controls a mecanical body, as are every human you meet, the real bodies sleeping in a spaceship.
I laughed so hard without even watching the vid yet, because I saw Hiroyuki Sawano and thought "WE GOT 'IM BOI'S!" I know Marco doesn't do Anime but who knows with how he liked this one mayhap he can be convinced to check out some other Sawano works. Less on the basis of what they feature in but in more as to get Marco to listen to more Sawano works. Maybe Ironic or just coincidence that Sawano just dropped his fifth studio album "V" on Wednesday. HS is definitely the Zimmer of Japan the man is composing on another level. For those who are fans of his work you just know how he sounds. I profoundly hope if Marco reads this that even if he doesn't record it that he check out more Sawano tracks. He's a great composer to have in your personal library. I have a HS playlist just for my lift days and the sounds just have you pumped. Like get your guys, or gals, together and its time to get SHIT done sort of vibes. Anyhow, thanks for doing this one and to Marco and anyone else reading this have a Kickass Friday and an awesome weekend.
MARCO HOW ARE YOU ALWAYS SO ON POINT! GOSH DARN. Your analyses are so good. Like the whole courage thing, the whole rising above the top and succeeding aspect. It's so well guessed. Not spoiling, it's actually the whole premise of the game. But your character and others have fled their home planet to bring population to another one. So your adventure is actually defending your new land and your new civilisation, on the planet Mira. You're courageous, the planet is grandiose, the monsters are huge and everywhere... And in spite of it all, you're there, defending what's important to you. So yeah, I loved that game if you didn't really get it yet haha. Seeing you get so excited over this theme, which helped me get through dark times myself, I swear I almost cried from joy. Keep up the good work, you're awesome.
"The monsters are huge." is putting it lightly. Many of the creatures dwarf your character from being as large as houses to small mountans especially the Tyrants such as Telethia, The End-Bringer and Go-Rha, the Guardian Deity.
Sawano has done some amazing work on the Gundam series as well. Given the touchy nature of it being anime music, I doubt it'd get a reaction on this channel, but at least in your spare time I highly recommend checking out "Mobile Suit," "Unicorn," and "MAD-NUG" from Gundam Unicorn, and "Xi" from Gundam Hathaway. Also "Symphonic Suite UC2012: 1st Movement - Banshee" These are some of my personal favorites of his work on the series.
Hiroyuki Sawano is such a unique composer in its own good/flawed way. He might lack finesse at times but I'm still impressed by the confidence in his music and ability too. Must composers nowadays think going loud is enough for something to sound epic and Sawano at least is aware that's it's not all that's needed. I have mixed feelings for his music but I can't deny it's uniqueness. If you were impressed by "THEMEX" you need to hear "CODENAMEZ" from the same soundtrack too. That track is INSANE!!!
Sawano Hiroyuki is one of my favorite modern composers. His compositions for the anime Eighty-Six bears mention and features some very powerful scenes that goes with his music. One of my favorites, though, is aLIEz from Aldonoah.Zero, specifically the live version from The First Take. I wouldn't mind if you go on a series of deep dives into more Sawano works. lol

"theme x" lol. oops. SAWANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i hope you listen to some of his other works such as his work in attack on titan like Vogel im kafig, Zero eclipse or call of silence he is a fantastic composer
Hope to see more of X in the future keep it up, Uncontrollable and Wir fliegen are some of my fav i'd recommend. :D
i would reccomend Yuki Kajura once you are done with sawano ;3
If you like this, you may also enjoy Sawano's 'Xi'.
Hiroyuki Sawano is a legend. I think he is Hans Zimmer of Asia =)
I AM SCREAMINNNNNNG INTERNALLY
Xenoblade Chronicles X is one of the BEST soundtracks I have ever listened to.
Xbcx is my fave game hands down!
This song along with Sylvalum theme song are my favorites,i wish I could just forget about this game and play it once again, I still remember when I got to the shores of Sylvalum for the first time and I cried when it turned night after being with spores weather all the time
@@aya8475 The Sylvalum Day theme gave me chills the first time I heard it there!
Minus the daytime city theme, maybe.
I'm convinced that Hiroyuki Sawano just walks down the street and music actually composes itself around him like a damn musical
Sawano is just a master of this kind of tracks, this and liking the German language create some really incredible themes.
The universe has a way of reminding me constantly that I need to play Xenoblade X
Pls play it!
i also need to play it. im hoping for a switch port, but if that never comes out, i refuse to buy a wii u so ill probably just emulate it if it never gets a port
@@dasfaodfadsfanfklawe Trust me, play it on CEMU right now. I don't see a reason to wait 10 years. With a decent pc, the game runs smoothly without any trouble. The base game already looked amazing, just lacked of high res and high fps. I played it on 2K/60fps and I have a GTX 1060 GB.
finally beat it yesterday. pretty cool game.
Yeah they have to port that game eventually like come on. I have a Wii U but my gamepad is fucked lmao
Xenoblade X is by far my favorite rpg, the ost is so unique. Cauldros Day, and Sylvalum night are my favorite overworld tracks
If only it ever was realeased somewhere else than on Wii U, would've had such a good recognition. One of the most refreshing and inspiring Space Opera themes and storylines and artistic direction...
So sad it got ingnored.
xenoblade x has this thing where if you like it you love it
Like I know people who don't know it and people who dislike it outright
But if it clicks with someone, it *clicks*
@@GregMeije i've started XBX last year on my WiiU again, and damn...the graphics are so amazing for such an old console. Didn't had it in my mind so good
Yesss this finally dropped! This is one of my all time favorite tracks from the game, there is something just so powerful about it. The perfect workout song.
Please more Sawano. Easily one of my favorites composers!
Maybe, who knows might even get marco to break the "No Anime" rule to hear more Sawano golden tracks.
@@HungryPunkr oh am pretty sure he will break that rule now that he's a foot inside with Hiroyuki
Yes pls! Also react if you can to another Xenoblade Chronicles X song, Sylvalum night
The music in this game is so fascinating, from the fascinating names of the music (with hidden meanings) to the lyrics of the battle themes (ignoring the silly German in Wir Fliegen, it and the Flight theme are my favorites)
.
.
I really missed out on this game by not having a Wii U, the exploration and giant monster battles look like they might be right up my alley... yeah, it's one of my favorite games that I've never actually played
Man i wish they brought it to Switch. With 3 main Xenoblade titles, it would sell for sure.
Eh, Sawano loves his silly German, "bios" from Guilty Crown being the absolute best example.
If you liked the Xenoblade 1 fight system, its really similar with the addition of melee/ranged weapon swaps
@@askalon4558 I COME FROM THE FUTURE WITH WONDERFUL NEWS
Bro you like the flight theme holy
I don't have enough words to describe Sawano, he is just a genius.
Sawano is a wild composer. No matter how someone may feel about his individual music pieces, he is for sure one of a kind and never fails to surprise whenever he's brought onto a project. Xenoblade X gets a lot of flak in the community but I believe it has the most compelling world and some really cool music
“Hello, Based Department, you’re never gonna believe this……XBX:DE is a go in a few months.”
@@bellidrael7457 Sylvalum night theme is better
I also like his other war shows 86 and gundam unicorn
It's not the best anime but aldnoah zero personally was his best work in my opinion. If you haven't seen it give it a watch. There are moments when his music is basically its own character. If nothing else listen to mkaliez and no differences.
@@walkthebrokenpath0 Yeah. Mkaliez fits perfectly that nuke scene
I personally believe Xenoblade X is his best work, it's when he was collaborating with vocalists that really fit his style, I dunno how I feel about the newer vocalists he brings on
I think the best example for this famous drop is in The Key Weve Lost, the final boss version.
"this is a song without lyrics" that's because it's foreshadowing the melodies from actual lyrics-ed songs later in the game (like "The Way")!
coming back after the trailer is such a "MUSIC MAN, FUCK!" feel and I. AM. HERE for it.
“MUSIC MAN, FUCK” accurately describes my feelings towards the entire XCX ost tbh
This are the lyrics to the song.
I feel lonely even in the crowd
Every face, tired eyes
It's not for me
I wonder how does my life go on?
Many chances I have seen before
But no more
Somebody knocked on my door
I woke up feeling empty like a hall way
And away
The sweet days have past (sic) me by
There's no storm it won't stop
I better wait more

Just everything about you
Can't stop my self
Something's just begun
Tell me why
I will think about you
Don't go away
I will stay for you
Frustration hit me hard, this morning
It's the light of my heart, and only I can see
How much I wanna wait for the moment
No place for me had hope
And now it's different
Sometimes it's hard for me
But everybody follows what they want
Don't you know?
All sweet days have past (sic) me by
There's no storm, it won't stop
Someone told me so

Another day
Another time
Another sky, We've seen before
Believe your self
Believe your words
Believe your choices made you strong
Remember me?
Remember days
That you're the only one who can live my life with smiles and hopes
So I said everything about you
Can't stop my self
Something's just begun
Tell me why
I will think about you
Don't go away
I will wait for you
I checked this out yesterday and then a day later xcx de is announced, what are the odds 😂
I heard about the announcement in another reaction video and now I’m binging all the XCX reactions I can find lmao
This sounds like a grand and hopeful adventure against some significant obstacles but there's no hint of doubt that you'll overcome it. You even have a subtle smile on your face but not overconfident bravado.
Sawano is without a doubt one of my favorite compositer ever
If you listen to more music from Xenoblade X, then take note of how Sawano uses leitmotifs. You heard at least one in this piece. He weaves them in so perfectly to the music, seriously one of the best modern composers.
YES! More Xenoblade X love!
The day theme for Noctilum is an absolute masterpiece. You are not ready.
"In the forest" from Xenoblade X as well is a great boss theme. There are two versions, one with lyrics if you prefer it.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is so underrated.
One of my favourite games ever.
Extremely fun and really cool Story.

Hiroyuki Sawano had to come up at some point, I knew it! lol
Haven't heard this one yet myself, but they're an incredible musician overall, and I couldn't be more happy to see them on this channel
Hiroyuki Sawano's music is simply amazing, any project he's attached to has my attention immediately.
so glad to see you reacting to Hiroyuki Sawano my favourite composer
YES MORE XENOBLADE MUSIC xenoblade has some of the best music ive ever heard and im glad that you are reacting to it its such an amazing franchise
They just announced Xenoblade Chronicles X for the switch. May i recommend this track called sylvalum. I think youll like it alot :)
Another great vid! So glad I found the channel, and congrats on the genshin VA!
thanks!
Xenoblade Chronicles X getting announced for the Switch led me here
Well, I'd say you hit a nerve with a lot of people. This is proably the most anime you'll get on this channel. :D
As many have said, while the instrumentals go hard, I'd say that his pieces with vocals have so much more oomph.
Also, Sawano's music has such a distinct style that as a casual listener many of his tracks sound so god damn similar. The have a very familiar structure and have vocals that are always, always more mumble/badly pronounced english or german and seldomly japanese.
This track literally feels like you're planting a flag in a new world with an entire fleet of ships landing behind you.
You should absolutely do more reactions to X music now that we’re getting a definitive edition. MONOX, NO.EX01, Requiem, So nah so fern, CODENAMEZ, black tar, and The Key We’ve Lost all deserve to be heard.
YEEES
I love Sawano's work on anime and games so much 😭❤
Hope you do more of his work!
Oh uhhhhh
Xenoblade X has many bangers. The final boss theme, the major boss theme, Uncontrollable, Noctilum Night, Oblivia, Luxaar's theme, the title.....
And then theres the NLA themes, which play a lot. And I don't know if they are just bad or awful on purpose.
I've got the same reaction as you when I discovered this song! This piece is such a journey of emotions and adventure ^^
You picking up in the artificial nature of the song vs natural handmade instruments is something I didn't think about. There's a later story revelation that makes this impactful.
holy fucking shit Sawano delivered
I just found your channel today after looking for SSBB Theme, and now I see that you reacted to one of my favorite games music. It's great and your videos are great.
I HIGHLY recommend you listen to the vocal version of this song. I feel like the lyrics might even throw your off, or maybe not. It's really great.
❤️🫡❤️
@@MarcoMeatball I think it's called "The Way" but the naming of the songs in Xenoblade Chronicles X can be confusing sometimes. Again, love the content so far
Very nice of you to react to this music! One of my personal fave and it has been on loop for me when I this game launched late 2015. I still feel nostalgic and emotional whenever I hear this song. Props to Sawano-san for a very good music!
Oni Musa here o/
Glad to see you react to Sawano.
Don't really expect you react to everything, just want to mention it for other people that will read my comment, or maybe even to myself because it took me some time to figure out my top 3 ha ha
However, when I think about it... if you ever decide to do a whole stream dedicated to Sawano's music, I'm sure It'll be hella fun.
Why don’t I do that and we can talk about it in the moment
I don't know much of anything about the IP connected to this song but I can envision an absolutely EPIC and inspiring and adventurous anime sequence to go with this song lol.
thanks for giving this gem the attention it deserves!
I love this game so much!! SUCH AN AMAZING OST ! Thanks you Marco for reviewing it and for everything you do !
yes.
I love Hiroyuki Sawano's work on attack on titan.
If you ever want to react to another track from Xenoblade Chronicles X, "Uncontrollable" would be a good choice. It has vocals!
Did you know the melody is the same played in reverse?
Hiroyuki Sawano music makes me happy. Not video games, but his work on various Anime shows (Like Gundam Unicorn) are amazing!
I have always wanted to meet someone else who gets this much into the beautiful little intricacies of music! It's so awesome to watch your face and body language as the song rolls over you. Thanks, man!
Dude! This is a banger song from one of my favorite games ever! I'm so happy you listened!
It's "theme X" lmao
But that aside I am so happy to hear you do something from xenoblade X. Its soundtrack is severely underrated.
LOL
there's some great track in xeno X, but also a lot of awful ones, lol
Sawano's track naming tends to be VERY idiosyncratic
WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK
He's finally found Hiroyuki Sawano. Joy.
I know that you can't react anime music on TH-cam, but if you like this kind of melody from sawano, Gundam Unicorn ost is one of his best work along side with attack on Titan. RX-0, Unicorn, mobile suits and on your mark are very iconic track from him
I think I just found my soul mate's channel
This man moves to music EXACTLY the same way I do, it was almost like I was watching my older self listen to this song for the first time. The surprised expression when the song doesn't go in the direction you thought it was going and then quickly adapting to the new pattern, the focussed eyebrows, snappy neck I'm gonna friggin ENJOY BEING HERE MAN
Sawano is a legend. Maybe one of my top five composers. His work on Gundam Unicorn with Aimer lives rent free in my head.
You did not lie about not-clickbait. I have never played Xenoblade but I'm off to find a Spotify playlist after listening to this masterwork
I love Sawano Hiroyuki so much.
the name 'simply' means "track number 2, Main Theme for Xenoblade X". (Also, it's supposed to be "xenoblade cross"
Also, there is a vocal version of this track, named "the way" (yes, some tracks have an actual, readable, title), and I really recommend listening to it, it's one of my favorite xenoblade tracks, all games considered.
oh my god i was literally listening to this today.
it wasn't a good day so i just put some noise on, but it definitely hit all the right spots in all the right ways.
I think he should cover Sylvalum night first
Yep although much of the content relies on internet connectivity and with events that had an extreme boss that relied on the entirety of those who owned X to chip down its health makes the game extremely hard to enjoy right now as it's been 8 years since it's release on the Wii U in 2015 as not many play the game anymore.
I remember playing a game and on my offscreen watching 1 hours and 30 minutes of just in game cinematics.
I finally found someone else noticing this! Also it was probably taken down for copyright.
Omg I've been wanting you to react to Xenoblade Chronicles X songs for a long time, this is one of the best themes ever, and this game is so underrated! Thank you so much! I mean it, you give my heart so much joy rn! ❤️
SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING
The artificial vs biological part is interesting because you learn about 1/3 in that your character remotely controls a mecanical body, as are every human you meet, the real bodies sleeping in a spaceship.
I laughed so hard without even watching the vid yet, because I saw Hiroyuki Sawano and thought "WE GOT 'IM BOI'S!"
I know Marco doesn't do Anime but who knows with how he liked this one mayhap he can be convinced to check out some other Sawano works.
Anyhow, thanks for doing this one and to Marco and anyone else reading this have a Kickass Friday and an awesome weekend.
holy crap xenoblade chronicles x reactions in 2023??? one of my fave games ever, so underrated! excited as hell to see Sawano's music
Yesssssssss hiroyuki is a legend i can't wait for you to see more of his work!
I wouldn't mind if you go on a series of deep dives into more Sawano works. lol
There is a version of the song with Lyrics called 'The Way'
sawano can convince me to play or watch anything

The entirety of Xenoblade X is so underrated, I hope you can find the time to react to other songs from the game (no3=NO.EX01 is a very good one!)
