This guy is brilliant! I've been watching Scanner Danner and others 4 about a yr. They're very good with even basic electronic tools but a Scope is another level! Wish I had 1!!!

This is really great detail but you didn't define where your probe(s) where. Secondary ignition can be anywhere from secondary coil to spark plug tip. From stating the resistance of the spark plug wires increases the voltage seen, you must be right on the secondary coil. Really great stuff, my only suggestion is to always start an o-scope video like by defining on what and where your probes are, it helps make more sense of what you are saying. Keep'em coming, thank you.

Great analysis of the spark I would like to see on a scope all the different cylinders one next to each other just like you have it but then you either have to save each channel pattern or have six different probes

What signal pickup is used here? Capacitive? Inductive? I bought Hantech HT-25 capacitive (Amazon, eBay) but its output does not look like yours no matter what vehicle with distributor I try.

    GREAT!!!...as usual...
I sure hope you can give me an approximate value of the proper secondary spike current, as well as the spark time current.
    THANKS MUCH!!

Worry less about the firing line spike and more about the burn line height and time and shape. A firing line spike height is always changing and relative to burn line.

at 5:46 the red/white text says:
"the left side of the spark is mostly effected by factors outside the cylinder"
    they you say...........
"the left side of the CYLINDER"
................ , Is it t the left side of the spark or the left side of the cylinder ?????????????

Can a Picoscope show raster seconday ignition waveform? like 8 cylinders all at same time? Does it have this feature?

If you haven't found out yet:
It can do so using an accessory called the mxmaster...

I can't understand eg near end where high Firing Line Voltage and No Spark indicates "bad coil" ... Coil is able to produce higher V that others that are producing a spark ... why is is a bad coil and not a bad plug that is failing to fire even with very high V??
