Yea I might intentionally book long layovers in big cities like this so I can get out and see some of it!

Sooooo many bikes. I would love to go back. I wish trains were more reliable and useful in the US.
@@redromina Instead of the "fietsflat" next to the station there is now a huge place under the water to store your bike which can hold 7000 bikes! (and another one under water at the other side of the central station for 5000 bikes! 🤯

the van Gogh museum was one of my favorite things in Amsterdam.. that along with getting cheese!

I loved Amsterdam and had about the same time there. I flew out in the morning and flew back at night, from the U.K.

12 hours isn't enough. My parents said Amsterdam is very bike friendly.

I was going to Germany by bus (this was 1990's and it took me almost 3 years to make it home again)
and we had five hours layover which we stretched (for £7quid IIRC) to be the weekend.
I intend to do this in September enroute from Florence to Kuala Lumpur. Thanks for the tip re the day pass. Wasn't there enough time to visit Ann Frank's House?
I didn’t really stop to rest. This is nonstop going from place to place. For me, it was not possible to do AFs house.

Thanks for watchin! I look up the stuff there is to do in a place. Sometimes I’ll read other blogs or watch videos about it. Other times big cities and popular places have official tourism websites so I check those out too.

If anyone has travelled recently; how many hours before departure should we come back if we have a long latover
I always get to the airport at least 3 hours before departure. I’d rather get thru security and wait at the airport than be stressed and rushed.
