That’s incredible. It touched my heart. I live in Miami this just touched my heart very hard and I love the fact everybody's a family and it's a family business including the employees that are family that makes it business I wish we had one like that here in Miami
I've been to the Czech stop many times and I have no idea how much work went into making these delectable treats. There's a grave site that I go visit in West, Texas, And it has become a tradition to stop at this place wherever I go. This place is truly special, and as Texan as Texas gets.
This is a nice story but I do believe you should have off for Christmas no matter what. Its a special time of year for folks to just have that day off to be with family, their kids, and to sit back and enjoy their Christmas day. No one is going to complain they didnt get a kolache.
Suit: They fly this stuff in frozen and repackage it. Woman: (So polite that she doesn't even say a word to them but participates in a documentary that beautifully and delightfully destroys the Suit's lies.)
Is that a Texas pronunciation of Kolache? Both my Grandfather was from Czechoslovakia, and my Grandmother was a Czechoslovakian born in Cyclone, Texas. My mother always said kolache that sounded more Czechoslovakian. The way she says it here makes it sound Italian. My mother always pronounced it Ko-La-cha.
The word accent is on the first syllable - all Czech words have accent on the first syllable - but the A in the second syllable is long (like in "far"). I think that combination is what English-speaking people struggle with, and why the speaker here completely loses the O (which is wrong, yes). Also, the E is pronounced like E in, say, "set". So... it's dificult to write out / understand pronounciation in English because none of the vowels have a set value in English, but I think you're right and your mother did pronounce it more correctly. :-) (Plus, for me as a Czech to hear and see "kolaches" is weird, because koláče is already plural - 1 koláč, 2 koláče.)
See: Battle of San Jacinto and Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Santa Anna got caught with his pants down (literally) and the rest is history. See 'Yellow Rose of Texas'. I don't mean the song.
Why isn't this on Netflix? This is a great documentary of the Czech Stop. I always stop in whenever possible. The best kolaches ever!

It not flown in frozen! All kolochies are homemade.... I know I’ve made them and bake them!
The fruit jam goes down first and then the cream cheese filling?

well,.. right name would be kolace ... "c" has a little v above it... :) www.eatingpraguetours.com/blog/czech-kolace-recipe/
The right name is koláče in Czech and it sounds like ko-laa-che. Greetings from Czech.

I say it ko-laa-chee
“the traditional Czech pastry/cake known as koláče (ko-LAH-ch)!” They are pronouncing it wrong. www.eatingeurope.com/blog/czech-kolace-recipe/
AMAZING KOLACK COOKIE JAM FILLING 🌟WOW! BEAUTIFUL ❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME,
I love a good Czech Stop kolache, but I do not like that they don't allow their hard working employees days off for the holidays.
They take turns having days off. People coming in wanting food doesn't stop, so why should they close?
I just noticed only 1 or 2 employee was wearing gloves while prepping the food
17:07...’Woodies”, I suspect that she is referencing Bucce’es. Interesting she does not mention Sloveck’s on the South side of IH35.
West side of 35 as 35 runs North and South

Where are your roots from?
Also, your surname is Italian.
Texas used to be Mexican until it was stolen from them.
and who did they steal it from? Comanche? LIpan Apache? Karankawas? .........
It wasn’t stolen, it was WON
It wasn’t stolen, it was WON
Im glad it was taken from Mexico because I'm damn proud to be Texan! This place is absolutely amazing by the way.
