Im a 20 year old who discovered oasis back in 2023.. since then ive been listening to them and the more I discover songs by noel and liam the more i feel I grateful for that day when i found them on a random side of the internet..
By far, for me, the best song of the XXI century... maybe it is because I am almost turning 40 but I feel like I truly do understand each line of this song on a deep personal way... or maybe I do not but I still dig it big time.
At 43 years old this hits me directly in the mouth... I wish Oasis and their solo efforts were more prevalent in the US market. So many are missing out on some of the best music ever made...
He's always looking like "fuck this, I don't wanna be here anymore" but it fits the lyrics^^ One of those songs like he did back in the days with Oasis, something everybody can relate to. Fuckin amazing!
The Dying Of The Light Noel Gallagher Play "The Dying Of The L…" Original Traducción Traducción automática vía AWS I keep on running but I can't get to the mountain Behind me lie the years that I've mis-spent And I've been sinking like a flower in the fountain When all the love I'm gonna need is heaven sent Gonna try my best to get there But I can't afford the bus fare And the storm that's rolling over Man, it makes me wanna cry And I was told The streets were paved with gold And that will be no time for getting old when we were young It's alright, if you dance with me tonight We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun PUBLICIDAD Woke up steepling on a train that was bound for nowhere The echoes that I could hear were all my own The world had turned and I'd become a stranger I'm tired of watching all the flowers turn to stone 'Cause I try my best to get there But I can't afford the bus fare And the storm that's rolling over Man, it makes me wanna cry And the cold against my shoulder When it comes on in the winter And it seems to last forever And it makes me wanna, makes me wanna cry I was told The streets were paved with gold And that will be no time for getting old when we were young It's alright, if you dance with me tonight We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun Gonna try my best to get there But I can't afford the bus fare And the storm that's rolling over Man, it makes me wanna cry And I was told The streets were paved with gold And that will be no time for getting old when we were young It's alright, if you dance with me tonight We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun And the cold against my shoulder When it comes on in the winter Man, it makes me wanna cry And the cold against my shoulder And it seems to last forever And it makes me wanna, makes me wanna cry
It is funny, almost ridiculous that Noel came in with such a masterpiece so "late" in his career. Now I will admit this is highly subjective as all opinions are... but that fact that this song landed as I turned 40 and I started contemplating my mortality and the last half of my life was just serendipity perfection. The lyrics the title, the feel... it all makes thinking about the dying of one's light... perfect...

Magic song and performance.. More and more closer to me such climates, full of subtlety and reflection .. Dying of the Light....
What a gorgeous tune
Wow..what a song!
Wot a song, brilliant
The backing vocals are so incredible as the Noel's voice. The guitar solo is simple but it is awesome, brings me a good sensation.
Brilliant beyond words!

I keep on running but I can't get to the mountain
Behind me lie the years that I've mis-spent
And I've been sinking like a flower in the fountain
When all the love I'm gonna need is heaven sent
Gonna try my best to get there
But I can't afford the bus fare
And the storm that's rolling over
Man, it makes me wanna cry
And I was told
The streets were paved with gold
And that will be no time for getting old when we were young
It's alright, if you dance with me tonight
We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun
PUBLICIDAD
Woke up steepling on a train that was bound for nowhere
The echoes that I could hear were all my own
The world had turned and I'd become a stranger
I'm tired of watching all the flowers turn to stone
'Cause I try my best to get there
But I can't afford the bus fare
And the storm that's rolling over
Man, it makes me wanna cry
And the cold against my shoulder
When it comes on in the winter
And it seems to last forever
And it makes me wanna, makes me wanna cry
I was told
The streets were paved with gold
And that will be no time for getting old when we were young
It's alright, if you dance with me tonight
We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun
Gonna try my best to get there
But I can't afford the bus fare
And the storm that's rolling over
Man, it makes me wanna cry
And I was told
The streets were paved with gold
And that will be no time for getting old when we were young
It's alright, if you dance with me tonight
We'll fight the dying of the light and we'll catch the sun
And the cold against my shoulder
When it comes on in the winter
Man, it makes me wanna cry
And the cold against my shoulder
And it seems to last forever
And it makes me wanna, makes me wanna cry
