Thomas Mars has a really rhythmic and interesting flow. He sings like a drummer (which he is). I'm mesmerized as Phoenix continues to write incredible positive and punchy teenage songs, even though they are all approaching 50. Some of United's songs sound like fresh and current electronic / R&B from today. There are several Phoenix eras on Alpha Zulu - All eyes on Me (United) Identical (Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix) etc... and mentioning that it's the same band line up from the beginning. Great respect on their whole discography.

that story isn't untrue - the band said the song was composed while thomas was in the US. they sent him the music and he created the vocals. they then recorded the whole album together in paris.
