I wonder how off it actually is. Over that distance the slack in the tape measure could easily amounted to the difference. Would be interesting to see it marked on a hard surface of a known constant slope.

Funny thing. I really enjoyed it but by the time I got the swing of it we became very busy with the “meat and potatoes” of our business and I haven’t touched it in months. Now, we probably aren’t going to continue design work 🤷🏻‍♂️
Having said that, it was/is a very cool tool with tons of potential (I guess now even more with the next generation).

Shooting the inside would cause a shortage. The last shot looked like 6" in the video.
Do a test shooting the outside and the inside and compare the difference.

Would it not work more accurately if it were dragged along the floor not held vaguely at a similar but slightly undulating height as you walk?
So it would be like a digital trundlewheel...

it works best if you can hold it just above grade as steady as possible

How long work in cold?

It has very good battery life, I would say at least a few days in very cold temps. Doesn't take long to fully charge.
