Young lad talking about survival lol, his mum and dad definitely bought everything he's wearing and that bike and got his tea ready when he gets home 😂😂
The UK has always struggled with a significant alcohol problem. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to be addressed because drinking is so deeply ingrained and normalised in our culture.
its not a big problem compared to other problems we have such as immigration for example, but hey its easier to talk about booze than immigration so yea, we are all alcoholics i guess, yawn
I left 13 years ago. The riots in 2011 London were the last straw. Though I'm originally from Norwich. I made a recent trip over to see family and friends. I was shocked to the core at the decline. So many pubs gone where I grew up. I'll always remember them thriving back in the 90s when I was a young'un. Now all turn into bedsits/flats, convenience shops or just left empty. Rotting away.
@@MelissasArt A friend of mine moved overseas because he didn't like the way the UK was going. He left in 2005 and returned to see family around 2016/2017. He told me that he was screaming to get back overseas because of how dire things had become in the UK. I often send him footage of the area where he once used to reside. He can't believe how bad things have got over here. He'd never return back to the UK even if he was paid a couple of million pounds.
@vanessahenderson1850 It's the same old story all over, isn't it? I find it tragic. I always say the 90s were the last good decade for the UK. I was born in 85. So, I was lucky to have seen them. It would take a lot for me to move there. Family emergency or caring for elderly parents. Though they say they want to retire over here. I see a lot on here from these TH-camrs that go around recording. It really is saddening.
Wonderful to see my hometown on TH-cam, despite being brought up in one of the most deprived areas not far from Central Drive, I had a great childhood and upbringing. I’ve not lived there for 8 years, but everytime I go home to see my folks I love nothing more than driving down the promenade and visiting my old stomping ground. With all that said, all of the problems you’ve witnessed in Blackpool I firmly believe are the same in almost every seaside town across the UK. Big up yourself Wendall for bringing the issues in our society to light.
I'm only a few minutes in to the video, but the young lad on the very expensive E bike and jacket was 100% eyeing up snatching your camera. Just watch his approach ... If that was a phone - it would be gone and the fact you held it away from him during his epic "we have to survive out here" chat, means it's still in your possession. He's out thieving and robbing and he'll soon go back to his mums council paid flat, with food on the table and an Xbox99 under the Christmas tree.
Fagin from Bang&Olavson store had sent him out tbf I don't think he meant any harm. a lot of these kids are just board trying to survive the street on his five grand E bike 😅
I noticed that, too. But, I also noticed he was wearing a super expensive designer winter jacket - the most expensive kind you can buy in America. And, that E bike could not have been cheap. Seems like the kid's problem is that the kid's heros and role models are thieves and that's the path he sees to prosperity. Seems like the kid of probably a single mom with a good job that listens to too much gangsta rap music and doesn't get smacked by his mom enough.
You can't judge people like that. Yeah, it's possible, but he didn't. He's maybe just a streetwise kid. Tons of kids like that knocking about most places.
Wendel you’re a good soul. Thankyou for buying that man a drink. He would of got it somehow anyway. Don’t listen to any hate I back you 100% in everything you do! Love you chief ❤️
I agree. In my area which I'd say is pretty much on par with Blackpool due to years of decline, I often help the homeless. One day, I happened to see a couple of homeless guys sat on the floor near to one of the banks. I chatted to them and I bought them food, drinks and I gave them some money. They told me they'd not spend the money on alcohol or drugs. I said to them at the end of the day, it was none of my business or anyone else's what they chose to spend the money on that I'd given them. I told them within conversation that who the hell was I or any one for that matter to judge anyone. I then went on to say, that I was well aware as to how bad the system actually was/is. Basically, we have a couple of organisations that are supposedly there to help the less fortunate but all they offer is lip service nothing more. There was also another homeless guy who I used to help too. He was an ex veteran and was such a lovely guy. I found out after Christmas last year that he'd save enough money that people had given him so that he could get out of the area. I heard he went to London with the hope of eventually getting back on his feet due to no form of assistance in the area that I currently reside. We had many conversations and I said to him, this could be any single one of us that fall on hard times and end up living on the streets. I'd like to think that if ever I ended up in that situation that there would be some kind people out there that would help me. What really riles me is that so many people out there are so quick to judge the homeless. So many people automatically reach the conclusion that 'all' homeless people are all junkies and alcoholics. That simply isn't the case. It breaks my heart to see so many people without a roof over their head. This day and age, no one should be without the basic essentials in life. I really don't like the way the UK is heading. The Country is beginning to look like a third world Country. I just hope and pray that things improve. Even if they did, it's going to take a couple of decades to turn things around due to years of deliberate neglect. I used to go to Blackpool every bank holiday years ago. I always had a fab time over there and the people were so genuine, down to earth and welcoming. It's so sad to see how bad things have become over there.
He would have got it somewhere else anyway so that makes it okay then? Drug dealers are okay then because they’d only get it from someone else? What a way to think about things.. I struggle with alcohol myself and I tell you know it’s good for nothing absolutely nothing.

My Parents had a B&B in Blackpool (Withnell Road) from the early 90's. Summer months were really busy and I have fond memories of being there. Seems a shell of it's former self now.... must have been brilliant in the 50's and 60's.
Wendall you are an amazing creator, you give the people a platform to address the issues their communities have & you help others! Really amazing creator
NEOLIBERIALISM , the UK and the US were the laboratory for this new economic / political theory whereby the free markets will allocate resources better, govt should get out of the way , better to privatise everything and hand it to private equity . That was by design and started in the 80's . Worth reading bankruptcy bubbles and bailouts and the vassal state as these do a really good job of depicting how we got to where we are. The UK truly reflects the US with its juxtaposition of immense wealth and immense poverty
I'm noticing lot's of TH-camr's trying your style of Video making, But just wanted to give you your due's your the Best my friend and I really enjoy your content. Keep doing what your doing and ignore the haters👊🏿
As with all our big seaside towns , when everyone went on holiday in UK, the towns boomed but now it's ridiculously expensive to stay in our country. Caravans, Airbnb, hotels all expensive and when you go out for a meal, we are not far off Scandinavian prices but on a lot less wages. Hence we go abroad. Given, tourism was the main business on the seaside, when that goes ,nothing has replaced it and so we get these seaside ghettos
That last street all boarded up with the Tower in the background! Crazy! How close it is to the main "heart" of Blackpool! I have been going to Blackpool for 30 years nearly Must have been over 25 times and I have noticed the change massively. Late 90's it was buzzing.
It’s got the best beach around….thats why it’s big…once the southern Landlords have bought up all the streets, the area will be known as little Mayfair..
So sad to see, I used to go there on holidays with my mum and dad in the 60's I now live in Australia, Blackpool was a magical place back then, Golden mile, Stanley Park and the Tower, donkey rides on the sands........punch and Judy....great memories.
I too have magical memories of visiting Blackpool when I was a young kid in the early 80's. Waiting for Blackpool tower to appear on the horizon from the motorway, mistaking many pylons on the way :) The last time I was there was the early 90's and it was all starting to turn to shi t back then. It's shocking to see how much more it has decayed since then. So sad to see. I'm sure it was rough in the 80s too but you don't tend to notice such things as a young child. It was all about the joke shops, fish and chips, hot doughnuts and the Pleasure Beach.
Blackpool was my mum's birthplace, sadly she's no longer with us but we had her ashes scattered into the sea nearby as per her wishes. That was this summer just gone and whilst some parts of the town are rough it's been that way for years just like any other large town but Blackpool gets more attention for this because it's still a holiday resort. My brother actually moved there in 1995 for a couple of years, lived in a shared house and unbeknownst to him had an alcoholic and junkie already living there. Blackpool seems to attract "down and outs" from around the country. But if you steer clear of these parts there's plenty of things to do and nicer areas of the town, again like any other place. Plus there's all that fresh sea air too. Beats polluted Manchester where I am.
Same thing is happening in my country Australia . The kid on the bike at the beginning of your video says it all really . His speak was an imitation of migrant identity , close your eyes ... he didn't sound like an anglo local .
I'd like to see you go to Middlesbrough and the surrounding Teesside area such as Redcar (which was a popular seaside destination). Middlesbrough has the highest international migration percentage in the UK and it has inevitably changed the dynamic of the town. When you speak to the English natives you will likely get an honest answer about their thoughts.
what? stop typing rubbish and get carrying that cross mate, or you just looking for votes? excuse my cynicism but its 2024 and i dont believe anything i see on the internet anymore
I've lived in Blackpool for a while just of Bond Street in fact....the council only cares about the tourists, hence the bright lights of the prom and it's attractions.... but once you get off the strip then it's decay....
It's been happening for a long time now, unfortunately. The destruction of our Cities & towns all by design. Build back better. The Great Awakening began in early 2020. Once you see, you can't unsee. Who's with me? ❤
I'm with you too. Once you're awake, you can't go back to sleep, ever. Believe me I've tried to no avail. Sometimes I so wish I didn't know what I do, but on the other hand, I'm pleased I know what I do. It's helped to prepare me mentally the best way I can for what's to come. We've got some really tough times ahead that's for sure. 2020 was just the warm up. 2020 will look like a tea party in comparison to what's to come.

Our tourism industry's going to be wrecked. Seaside towns where we spent our holidays are becoming unrecognizable, and definitely no place to take the kids.
@GeorgeCrapper Sad but true & all by design, unfortunately. Our Governments & local Councils are not interested. They have all sold out for Agenda 2030.
Another great but very worrying video. I haven't lived in the uk since 2008. I find it very disturbing how much the uk has declined. I still have family living in the uk, and it's a worry how it's all going to end. Like you, I have many happy childhood memories of the places you visit. Something has to change before life for those still in the uk slips to the point of no return. It's a mess.
Ahhhh Blackpool, so sad, I have so many fond memories of visiting here with my grandparents. So sad to see it in decline, but unfortunately if the council don't put any money into it the place it will only get worse. I'm taking my grandchildren after Christmas for a few days, definitely going to avoid certain streets 😢😢😢
The young lad at the beginning is one of the reasons this country has gone down hill, they can’t even communicate properly and have to talk like a wannabe gangster!
I grew up on central drive in Blackpool, it was bad then but its beyond worse now. Such a shame what happened to a once great family resort which is now overrun with poverty and homelessness. Ive moved away but always go back to visit friends.
This video makes me feel depressed and also very lucky. I’ve been to Blackpool a few times and it has a lot going for it, but could and should have a lot more. Don’t really feel any desire to go back any time soon.
Whilst I do think ‘wokeism’ has had somewhat negative effect on the overall political spectrum in the west, I don’t see how it’s affected Blackpool or deprived areas in general. ‘Seaside towns’ in particular suffer largely from cheaper holidays abroad, it’s far too expensive to holiday in the country unfortunately as the UK has many destinations to be proud of. I’d also argue stagnant wage growth in the country has had a huge effect too.
I say keep doing what you're doing, as in my opinion you're the best content producer of this type. Its a really important subject, and I agree it doesn't really achieve much to show the wealthy areas.

My Parents had a B&B in Blackpool (Withnell Road) from the early 90's. Summer months were really busy and I have fond memories of being there. Seems a shell of it's former self now.... must have been brilliant in the 50's and 60's.
LITERALLY JUST BACK FROM BLACKPOOL YESTERDAY AND IT DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER, SPENT MOST OF MY TIME IN FLEETWOOD.
Wendall you are an amazing creator, you give the people a platform to address the issues their communities have & you help others! Really amazing creator
Appreciate the kind words
Wendelll, the best of the best. Keep going. Best wishes to you and your family
🙏
Wendall I love your channel. Keep showing the reality of England 2024. - signed your American friend.
That kid at the beginning of the video, little gangster growing and trying desperately to talk like black gangsters.
Exactly what i thought
He will grow out of it, fingers crossed 🤞
you feel me blud 😂
Working class kid. Say no more
Old way sort him out
Stay true to yourself Wendall and film whatever you want, the UK is on a downward spiral and no amount of ignoring that is going to stop it.
Look forward to your videos Wendall keep it up bro 👊🏼
I'm noticing lot's of TH-camr's trying your style of Video making, But just wanted to give you your due's your the Best my friend and I really enjoy your content. Keep doing what your doing and ignore the haters👊🏿
Very dark place just behind the lights well we acknowledge this
As with all our big seaside towns , when everyone went on holiday in UK, the towns boomed but now it's ridiculously expensive to stay in our country.
I must say it has changed a lot since I went to Blackpool back in 1985! I wish it was for the better.
That lad saying to many police think hes fed up of being chased on his surron but wants police for knife crime 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yh but jnufe crime abit mire seruius tĥn sme1 is riding round on a disputed over e,bike or wthr it a e motor bike lolc😂😂😂

All seaside towns are on there ass now!
Wendall. Your a genuine guy who never fails to show some humility. If only more people were like you.!
That last street all boarded up with the Tower in the background! Crazy! How close it is to the main "heart" of Blackpool!
I have been going to Blackpool for 30 years nearly Must have been over 25 times and I have noticed the change massively. Late 90's it was buzzing.
That is due to be flattern for the multiversity... the sooner the better as well
Yer man, it is what it is...
Great stuff Wendall.
It is what it is
@@WendallExplores😂😂😂😂
God bless you Wendell, for being so sweet with Joe ❤️
Ya keep doing it the way you are mate it gets people to see whats going on ok
It’s got the best beach around….thats why it’s big…once the southern Landlords have bought up all the streets, the area will be known as little Mayfair..
What do they do in the Council meetings ? Bingo ?
Probably 🤣
So sad to see, I used to go there on holidays with my mum and dad in the 60's I now live in Australia, Blackpool was a magical place back then, Golden mile, Stanley Park and the Tower, donkey rides on the sands........punch and Judy....great memories.
It's still a great place, this video rightly highlights the lesser areas, but there's a lot of investment in other areas.
That hooded youth looks like he's heading straight to jail :0(
Good video Wendall so glad you tell it how it is and don't sugar coat things so sad to see the decline of the UK
3:21 'It is what it is innit' someone's been watching Danny at Honest Places 😂😂😂😂
Biggest fan

"this place is hangin"
Thats so sad 😢, i remember Blackpool as a vibrant seaside holiday place to go. 🇬🇧⚘️🇬🇧
Your a top man Wendall, thanks for the video, such a shame about Blackpool..
Thanks for watching 👊
Great content as always Wendall. Appreciate your content. Keep up the good work 🙏
Makes me feel so sad for so many of our seaside towns.

Wendell good on you “ make the right choices mate “ ❤
The story of the window cleaner is heartbreaking, but he needs to stop telling people he sleeps in public toilets they might get the wrong idea 💡
Same thing is happening in my country Australia . The kid on the bike at the beginning of your video says it all really . His speak was an imitation of migrant identity , close your eyes ... he didn't sound like an anglo local .
Exactly what I thought too. I'm from Lancashire originally and I could barely detect a Lancashire accent from this kid.
@@kw8757 👍
He's just trying to sound gangsta, innit?
My thoughts too. Little road man gangsta mentality. @@jimbobalob2491
And failing miserably @@jimbobalob2491
I'd like to see you go to Middlesbrough and the surrounding Teesside area such as Redcar (which was a popular seaside destination). Middlesbrough has the highest international migration percentage in the UK and it has inevitably changed the dynamic of the town. When you speak to the English natives you will likely get an honest answer about their thoughts.
Don't know if he will get a patty like he did in Brownsville though
Yes it breaks my heart to see what has happened to our country .
I have lung cancer , i’d like to have just cross just one cross a wooden cross, to give to my son
what? stop typing rubbish and get carrying that cross mate, or you just looking for votes? excuse my cynicism but its 2024 and i dont believe anything i see on the internet anymore
Why is that kid on the bike at the beginning trying to talk like a Jamaican gangster, I bet he's a prefect at school 😂
I've lived in Blackpool for a while just of Bond Street in fact....the council only cares about the tourists, hence the bright lights of the prom and it's attractions.... but once you get off the strip then it's decay....
Nice to see you back up 🔝
Government keep reducing the alcohol content in those tins. Tizer is stronger.
street drinkers should switch to water, since the alcohol will soon be at the same level anyway
Those sunglasses almost made me want to buy one of those bottles 😅
"Woke'ism is eroding our British culture"?
WOW Wendall. This is a serious break from the Wendall we all knew.
Good on ya fella...I'm the Danish shop...Bond Street...
All my memories of Blackpool are glowing and positive (80s, 90s), this is just horrifying...
@vanessahenderson1850 It's nice to interact with a kindred spirit, thankyou. I know what you are saying & I have been prepping & preparing since early 2020 to the best of my abilities. On a positive note there are more people waking up everyday. Please stay strong, courageous, positive & focused 🙏 ✨️ & I hope that our paths will cross again 🙏 ❤️
Fair play for treating Joe he sounded like a top lad in a bad place. Love if you kept in contact with these kinda people and give us some updates.
That Chippy you passed by in the very beginning with the pink/red signs; I believe Gordon Ramsay did a Kitchen Nightmares episode there.
So what do u think should happen to change this decline? Is there an answer
Parents not parenting
I grew up on central drive in Blackpool, it was bad then but its beyond worse now. Such a shame what happened to a once great family resort which is now overrun with poverty and homelessness. Ive moved away but always go back to visit friends.
Keep doing exactly what you are doing mate.
The pleasure beach seems to be suffering too...sad
It's Grim in Blackpool! I've just been staying there between there & Wirral 😭
Famous saying goes “best thing about Blackpool is the way out “
Where I currently live, we say, last one out turn off the lights.
We don't want u
Joe's stories are hilarious sounds like something out of a carry on movie
This video makes me feel depressed and also very lucky. I’ve been to Blackpool a few times and it has a lot going for it, but could and should have a lot more. Don’t really feel any desire to go back any time soon.
I remember Blackpool as a kid. I'm 43. Was boss. Now it's a pig stye 😂😂😂
I would be interested to see you go to Clacton in a year and see if their saviour Farage has made any difference.
Yeh blame woke for complex social and economic problems. Hah.
I say keep doing what you're doing, as in my opinion you're the best content producer of this type. Its a really important subject, and I agree it doesn't really achieve much to show the wealthy areas.
Its not difficult to see England is in a state and bordering on the third world.
Just look at the state of the roads and nhs then prove to me it isnt.
Yeah, it's shocking. I never thought we'd be witnessing all that we are in our lifetime or any lifetime for that matter.
