We as black people created a make believe world in our minds thinking that others love and respect us! I believe you because I know the truth about these people! I came out of the matrix years ago!
I have encountered so much racism/discrimination while RV'ing in Florida as a BW in the 55 plus RV Resorts (near the Tampa area), that it is ridiculous.
I am older (75) Native American, sad to be treated wrongly. I applaud your tenacity and spunk. You go girl, you will change the world in your little world and God knows it needs to be done. I love your channel , just found you today.
Hi! Thanks for being here and supporting me. Both of my great grandfathers were Cherokee Indian, but unfortunately I have very little information about them because they were both enslaved. One was enslaved in SC and the other in NC.
Hello! I just found your channel! Channels like yours are needed because we need people to be honest about their experience at these campsites, which is not always the case. We are from SC as well. We just got our RV a year ago, and I have been viewing TH-cam for other camper experiences. One campground we recently visited in SC was an SC beach resort that many of the channels I subscribe to had recommended. It was a nice resort park, and the ground staff was nice. We ran into an issue when we visited the store located on the campgrounds. The security guard entered the area where we were shopping and acted as if she was looking for something on the shelf. At first, I ignored it, but when we moved, she moved. I knew then that we were being watched. I noticed that unless the other customers who were racially "different" asked her something, she did not move with them. So, I decided to ask her how long she had been working with the campground. She said over two years, which told me that whatever she was pretending to look for, she should already know where it was in the store! So, we put back our items, left the store, and went offsite to shop. Now, I don't know what the legalities of sharing this type of information are for other channels, but as a black family, we certainly don't want to go where we are not welcome or will be racially profiled. If we can afford an RV, we should be able to afford $40 or $50 worth of groceries.
I am so sorry that happened to you, but I am glad you didn't STOP. And yes, we have to tell these stories AND stay in /at those places to let them know we will NOT be run away because we have the RIGHT to be there just like anyone else. Now, if you're in danger, get the Hammond Brown Jennings out of there, but make sure you document, document, document, and then file charges when possible. I had an instance at a Myrtle Beach campground, but it wasn't the staff; it was another camper parked across from me. I was minding my Black business and then he and a group of his Harley Davidson riding buddies decided to let me know that I wasn't welcome. His wife tried to tell me they were just playing and I cut her off real quick to let her know I knew what they were doing and she should be ashamed of trying to cover up for them because she's a part of the problem, too. Once I let them know that I would NOT be bothered and would put my foot on their throat if they messed with me, I didn't see or hear from them again...NOT NARE ONE OF THEM! And yes, I was traveling alone then in my 32' Class A RV. I'm only 5'2" but I will protect myself at all costs. I think the problem is for too long we've been too quiet and many of them got comfortable. Now that we're no longer being quiet they don't know what to do with themselves because they realize they can no longer control us, our stories and the changing narratives. Hang in there and trust me; you will get the TRUTH from my channel. If something pops off I am definitely speaking my truth. I pray that nothing does, but even the smallest bit of bias, othering, exclusion, discrimination, or prejudice needs to be exposed at these public and private campgrounds/resorts to ensure others know what to expect and can feel comfortable going, especially national, state, city & county parks! By the way, I'm from Spartanburg...Where are you all from?
@@LibertySerenity Hi Tracey, we are from Columbia. Although I am working on it, I haven't had time to look at all of your videos yet. But, as much as you can share, what do you do to stay safe and secure when traveling alone. If we leave, we put away anything of value or that may be popular. I want to get a camera system at some point. Getting a small dog has been suggested, but I don't want to deal with that. We do travel with a weapon locked away. Have you considered that another possibility you were refused a site was because of the age of your rig? Many campgrounds have a strict policy not to rent to rigs greater than ten yrs old.. I was really tripping about that thing in the water. Thanks so much for watching, beautiful!
Im infuriating listen to your story. It's always some BS with these clear people. And you got the black, they don't gatekeep nothing of ours. They welcome everybody and that sucks.
Thanks for being upset with me. It was quite frustrating as they tried to gaslight me into thinking I was reading more into it. I hate when they don't stand 10 toes down in their ish.
Have you considered that another possibility you were refused a site was because of the age of your rig? Many campgrounds have a strict policy not to rent to rigs greater than ten yrs old.. I just can’t believe that bigotry is still possible…kudos to you for handling this situation with grace…a case of “hot coals on their heads”😊❤️🙏
Wow...you are questioning my LIVED EXPERIENCE and the many other Black men & women who live this daily.
Karen, here's a lesson for you: BELIEVE BLACK PEOPLE and STOP UPHOLDING IT because you refuse to see it.
And only private campgrounds have that rule which doesn't apply if you have proof, aka pictures that your rug isn't unkempt & cared for.
Oh, really. You are definitely not African American. Can’t believe that is in your head and heart.
This is quite the journey.
It truly is and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
