Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Trains in Southern California - 2023

- The Pacific Surfliner is one of the busiest as well as most scenic Amtrak routes in the United States. It's always a great route to photograph because of the many picturesque locations complemented by the classy blue and silver trains. The spring is an especially nice time of year to watch the trains, as you can frequently see fields of yellow wild flowers next to the tracks. In this video, we will take a look at Pacific Surfliner trains that I filmed in the spring of 2023. Most of these scenes were filmed in San Diego County, but some were filmed in other areas including Santa Ana and Simi Valley.

I rode on the Surfliner from San Diego to LA and back to San Diego. It was so pretty and it is my second favorite train trip so far which so far is the California Zephyr.

I honestly miss the F59PHI that runs around the line. If they still have one in storage, I would kill to take a ticket and ride on it for one last time
If you want to ride behind a Surfliner F59, go to Metra. Metra bought the Surfliner and Cascade units when the chargers came.

CA had never looked so good as this spring... There was a massive solid yellow field of mustard for 3 months adjacent to the ROW in Ventura that was amazing.
