  • History, culture, and natural beauty perhaps best
describe the essence of vacationing in Germany.
From half-timbered medieval towns to cosmopolitan cities, Germany offers a thoroughly engaging mix of tradition and modernity.
With its historic cities and small towns, along with an abundance of forests and mountains, visitors are spoiled for choice.
Located in the heart of Europe, Germany maintains the continent’s most powerful economy.
Best known for its famous Oktoberfest and World War II history, Germany is also home to some of Europa’s
most beautiful scenery, fairytale castles, important historic sites and lively party scenes.
Even though Germany is one of the largest countries in Europe by both area and population and
home to such incredible diversity, many travellers only manage to visit one or two cities on their travels.
Here at Misk Travel Guide we’ve put together a list of the top 10 German cities you should consider adding to your itinerary
to encourage you to see more that this country has to offer.

We Japanese love Germany and Germans very much.Germany and Germans are the best in the world. God bless Germany and Germans.Japan's national anthem Kimigayo was made by Hayashi Hiromori and German Franz Eckert. We Japanese sent 9,000 cherry blossom trees to Germany in 1990. It is said that the money of this cherry blossom trees is gathered by the donation of the Japanese and bought a cherry blossom trees . Almost all Japanese people participated in donations. The Japanese always cooperate with Germany. This cherry blossom tree is still in Berlin. All surplus money was donated to Germany. We Japanese love Germany and Germans very much. Japan imports many German products to support Germany.God bless Germany and Germans.
Japan made the constitution, medicine, the army in by reference to Germany during the Meiji era. Japan succeeded in modernizing thanks to Germany. Japan learned a lot from Germany. There are two Germans statues at the University of Tokyo in Japan. There are many other German statues in Japan. Germany is a Japanese teacher.I always pray to God for the eternal happiness and peace of Germany. The most imported cars in Japan are German cars. Most of the cars that run in my town are German cars. This is a story that Japanese people helped Germans in japanese Okinawa Miyakojima, Japan. In 1873, the German Merchant shipRobertoson was hit by a typhoon. The ship was aground off Miyakojima Miyakokuni.
At that time, the islander rescues the crew. There were many Germans, but all were successfully rescued. And the Japanese treated all Germans wounds.
And the Japanese made the Germans eat delicious food. They gave Germans a place to sleep. The Japanese entertained the Germans with songs and dances. The islanders repaired the German ship. The days were 34 days. And the islanders put a lot of food and water on the ship and sent the Germans to Germany safely. There are still monuments sent from Germany in Okinawa.Japan will always help Germans from now on.There are other stories of Japanese helping Germans. There are so many that I cannot write.
After the war, the German city was destroyed and many Germans were killed. We Japanese are very sad about that. I pray to God that Germany will never be unhappy again. There is a tower in my town praying for the Germans soul to be saved. It is a story in the Bando camp.About 100 years ago, there were many German prisoners of war in Japan.Japan did not treat German POWs awfully. The Japanese treated German POWs as friends. Japan respected German POW freedom.Japan did not force German POWs to work. Germans were respected in Japan. They spread German culture and history,German music and art, beer and sausages, Baumkuchen,German food culture, etc to Japan.Germans also spread European culture, art and music to Japan. The German bridge created by German prisoners of war is still well preserved in Japan.Japan did not want a war with Germany. At that time, Britain and Japan were allies. There was a request from the United Kingdom, and it became a battle with Germany. There are many exercise facilities in Bando Camp, and Germans enjoyed sports every day. There were restaurants and shops, and Germans could use it freely.
Japan allowed German POWs to do sports and cultural activities. The Japanese donated a lot of money for the German POWs. We donated a lot of donated items, daily necessities and sweets.Exchanges between villagers and Germans were also popular. It is more correct to say that the camp where the Germans were located is a German village than a camp.German POWs performed a concert a few days before parting. When the performance was over, the highest German thanked the Japanese. The Germans gave the Japanese a cane that he cherished. The German said, “To my beloved friend.”

@@Celtjak7 you could also add Munich and Düsseldorf to this list. Since Munich is the city in Germany with the highest number of DAX entries in Germany and has lots of companies here like BMW for instance. And Düsseldorf is the capital of the most populated German state of NRW and also plays an important role. But when it comes to the real financial capital, the place belongs to Frankfurt.

There is a heavy emphasis on the major cities in this video. One problem with them is that they were more or less devastated at the end of the war. I prefer the slightly smaller cities that retain their historic look and feel.
E.g. Bamberg (one of the very few major cities not bombed in the war), Celle, Ratzeburg, Hameln, Trier, Goslar, Quedlinburg, Rothenburg o.d.Tauber (lots of tourists though), Dinkelsbuhl (nearly as pretty and not a tourist in sight), Einbeck and probably many, many more that I have not visited myself. There is a lot to discover in Germany!

Been to Munich, Köln, Hameln, Dusseldorf and Hannover. Loved them. And the more industrial towns of Munchengladbach and Bochum. All for football with Rangers and Sunderland. Will be back some time and would love to spend some time for a holiday, without football being involved.

I like Lübeck, too. My home city is Aachen by the way. There are so much more cities in Germany deserve to be mentioned: Trier, Würzburg, Kassel, Mülheim, Hannover, Schwerin etc.

besides, the Brandeburg Gate has nothing to do with the 3rd Reich or the Nazis. It has been build in 1788 -91 as an entrance towards the Prussia Palace.
9:09 Hamburg also has the biggest Freight Railway Station in Europe, very important to move goods quickly onwards to its destinations.
