- I stayed at Hakone Kowakien Mikawaya Ryokan, a hot spring inn in Hakone Kowakudani.
The main building is a tangible cultural property and is a long-established hot spring inn founded in 1883.
Accommodation options include the main building, an annex, and an outhouse. This time I stayed in the annex.
Within walking distance are Hakone Yunessun, Hakone Kowakien, Okada Museum of Art, and Houraien. If you take the bus, get off at Houraien and the inn will be right in front of you.
In addition to the large public bath, there is also a semi-open-air bath that can be reserved for free.
There is also a Meiji bath with a hostile architectural style, although it is currently only open for tours.
Some rooms have an open-air bath, so you can soak in the hot springs and relax.
