Excellent. Haven't watched it all yet but THIS is exactly what I have just found. Only mine (haha) says on it RR 189/40. Im assuming that the 40 is year of manufacture. Does the other number have anything to do with load trigger weight do you think? So pleased I found your site.
It might be the year. But I think they are lot numbers. I never really got into the different German codes so I can't be sure. There are alot of people that study that on collector websites though who may have the answer.
The only explosive that you may have in it if the item looks like mine is a primer. the rest is just springs and metal. If you have a blasting cap hanging off the bottom of it, then that is dangerous enough to take off a few fingers if it explodes. If there is no blasting cap connected to it, it is safe to open as long as you don't stick anything over the hole in the bottom, just incase the primer goes off while unscrewing it.
Yup, Same mechanism Just beefed up for Anti-vehicle use. The DZ 35's, ZUZZ 35, zz35, and S mi z 35 all used the same principle, although as you will see in the zz 35 vid I will make, pins were used instead of ball bearings for some models. Even the T. Mi z 35 has the internal striker and spring but uses a shear pin instead of a spring/collar retainer. As the war progressed mine fuze design, got simpler for the most part.
madsexymanofthenight Yes, along with the fact that each has to be made by a machinist. every machining step eliminated saves material and time, also you can use more unskilled laborers to assemble the fuzes and work the machinery. They are one time use, seems wasteful putting so much energy and materials into it when you don't have much to begin with.
madsexymanofthenight Yes they definitely did unfortunately for them it was part of their downfall. But they did make very interesting weapons and vehicles that were ahead of their time.
From now on Stray03 along with Hickok45 are my favorite You tube channels. The Law video, the Pancerfaust and now these fuses, seriously man, good job.Probably you already know but I want to point you, to this site.In the cutaway section you can find a gold mine of information and cutaways about land mines and other stuff. www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/forums/27-Cutaways?s=d49ef6d7ab82cc9ae6d7dd2a315a5e33 Also this guy have a very good videos of artillery shells: th-cam.com/users/Bubbagump9325 Thanks Stray and I hope other fuses are coming , and yeah I hope you will try harder to put your hands on a AT4 tube or on some m141 .
BOCN is a great place to find info, so is wk2ammo, and wehrmacht-awards. Thanks for the kind words, I am trying to get some fuzes, my next fuze video will be on the zz35, since I have one, and hopefully more in the near future. I find it important to put up info on these because even though there are people who have much more knowledge on the subject, I never see videos on the mechanics of them. Since I have time I make the videos.
Stray03 Yeah, I new about wk2ammo{pretty much the same people are there},didn't know about wehrmacht-awards.I learned a lot of things from the cutaway section of the bocn forum but is much better to see how something works on a video than to try to understand how something works from a picture.I don't know why the guys from the bocn who have so many cutaways in possesion don't make a You Tube channel. That would be great.
Stray03 It's really a waste if they don't make a review on You Tube of all that ordnance and cutaways.I will open a thread on BOCN and wk2ammo and suggest this to them.Let's hope I can convince someone to buy a camera.
Found one of these without the pin & that top part in the trenches yesterday, it only has a ''dbk'' marking on it
You are lucky that you can dig them up. Must be fun.
@@Stray03 Fun until you dig up an UXO :D
Lol then it is exciting.

didn't the designed change do to supply and demand of metal during the war ?

i must say though they took pride in what they did. look how long they have lasted .

Catching Fire I've asked myself why also. Probably because most collectors are older and less likely to know how or want to make videos.

Catching Fire Good luck it would be nice to see some of the rare ones, but unfortunately I think you will probably get resistance.
