Ferguson a great striker. Feel like we should buy a injury prone striker. We buy ones with a great injury record as soon as they come to West Ham they get injured. We should break the curse and buy one who is injured it may just stop the Strikers curse we have.

This is where I guess we all hoped the pearl diving would work.
They up the price due to glimpses and the fact he has a lot of potential if that’s the case they should be starting him they are taking the pi*s the fact he’s a bench player he should be no more than 40m even that is a lot for someone who didn’t start .
It took me 90mins on google to put together a massive list of high potential and/or in form players under 30 who have performed for 2 or more consecutive seasons and i deleted over half the list to make the original comment smaller.

There is tons of talent playing for high to mid table teams in other leagues, all of these teams have 2 or 3 star players and all of these players are attainable and affordable.
We have been in Europes top 20 rich list for over a decade and we need to start acting like it!

Ferguson is too much of a risk. I'd rather sign Brobbey tbh but I don't know why it's out of these two. There's a plethora of good strikers out there.
I trust Graham Potter, if hopefully allowed, to get us sorted out. Love it to be Duran, but highly unlikely now? Delap would be my second choice. I’d be interested to see how Todibo or Aguerd, if he wanted to return to a happier set up, would fit in alongside Kilman.

Hard for me to say but i would rather get Silva till the end of the season than get Ferguson on a panic buy as BHA know we are desperate. Save the money for summer, 40M-50M should get us a more prolific and less injury prone striker. Get Silva in for rotation after half time as Bowen, Kudus or Paqueta are fine playing the false 9 role. lets be honest this season is about getting Potters system working and next season we go for European places

The irony is the example you gave of Villa’s striker (Watkins) wasn’t a striker either. He was also a winger when he was at Brentford. Liverpool don’t really play with out and out strikers either, and look what they achieved ever since Klopp came in, let alone how they are getting on under Slot. If you can find a good striker, great. But it’s really not the be all and end all as long as you can create a good front 3, which we did for 3 of the last 4 seasons before this one.

I can see why Brighton are asking for 50m. Should we pay it probably not. Pre-injury when he burst on the scene they were talking he was a 80m striker with Man U interested. I would pay an extra 10m in premier league tax as he is proven to score goals in the premier league. I don't want another Haller or Scammaca who doesnt fit playing in this league. I would say loan with an option at 40m I would be happy with as he is very young, Potter knows him and has bags of potential but the injury worries me. I don't think we have a chance with Delap. I think he is either going back to Man City or another champions league team.

Angel Gomez is bang average he doesn't start in Lille strongest starting 11, is he better than Rodriguez, probably just because of age and mobility but that's all. Free doesn't always mean bargain. Much better midfielders available, no not all free but you're basing Gomez on 1 England appearance in a nothing game without knowing anything about him, he's 24 and been anonymous in french football until this season and Lille aren't exactly pulling up trees to extend his contract considering he can leave for nothing in summer, I'd be looking for better long term tbh. And Ferguson has done nothing since his debut season really except pick up injury after injury, yes he showed promise but he hasn't developed anymore since those early games 2+ years ago. 4th choice for Brighton when he is occasionally available. 50m isn't a punt with nothing to lose, a loan is. Ferguson is a panic buy when there's no real need to panic, west ham ain't getting relegated nor are they going to get European place so why rush spending money on anyone in January?
