Had some construction going on, don't mind the loud a$$ hammering. Pretty stoked on this build. Shes a ripper, maybe a little too much. I hope to have it painted and ripping by next weekend. Hit that like and Subscribe for part 3.
Heck yah dude, it was time to try something a bit different and I love kit bashing stuff together. Wait till you see what I am making out of my prosc10 we ripped up in Belmont at Waterdog.
Inspiring guys like you inspires me to make better content. Hit me up on Instagram if you have any questions and once you finish your baja Rey hit me up so I can check it out. Thanks for the support bro appreciate you.
Wild build. Very cool. I’ve been sitting on a Proline Ford Ranger body for my son and wasn’t sure if I wanted crawler or pre-runner. He runs my other crawler, but likes speed. Your vid helped make that decision. Beach runner! Sub’d to stay tuned.
SO impressed! I don't know if you mentioned it yet (I'm watching the whole Playlist)... WHERE did you get the body? Looks bigger than the Tamiya/RC4WD Yota body, and MUCH better interior! I'm definitely taking notes. 😉
I'm pretending this is current! 😂😜 In 1/10th scale, 1.9s don't really work on any 80's to mid 90's mini trucks (not counting the kids RUINING them by slamming them and 22" rims with paper thin tires!!) 1.55s are the right choice! 15.5" in 1/10th scale. You just mentioned that it is a RC4WD body... I gotta go to the website! Do you remember where you got the fender/quarter flares? Love it!
Yah buddy. Thanks for watching and joining in. This is a rc4wd 87 Toyota extended cab hard body that I extensively modified for this project. I do my best to add links to all the parts used in the description. Questions are free and I enjoy answering. Happy new year! I do have parts available to purchase to help in your prerunner builds. Videos coming this weekend. High updates on this truck
In off road desert style prerunner trucks 40 inch tires is the standard. A good example of a 40 on a small prerunner is Darren Parsons Ranger. 1.9 class 1 tires for this body is as close as I could get to 40 inch tires simulating real world prerunners. The current black yota configuration is using Kyosho Outlaw Rampage tires and they are slightly larger than class 1 tires. Glad your enjoying watching these. Fun project.
@DoubleClutchProductions You are right about that... re: Wheels. I lived in Vegas until 2010, and worked for Terrible Herbst! The old man, Jerry, was a great guy, generous, good-natured, and a hell of a businessman. His 2 youngest sons.... weren't quite as kind or level-headed! (Being civil and kind...) Tim and Troy Herbst visited the shop often and even brought the "Old F-150" to the shop! That's when I met Mike Smith.... calling him a desert racing guru, would be a GROSS understatement!! LONG before today's average high horsepower beasts.... 2004 - the "Old F-150" cranked out SEVEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY horsepower!!!! 🥵🤪😳😳😳 And torque that would make a Diesel jealous. Mike designed front I-Beams and steering links with crazy geometry, that had very little toe bump steer! In a very high capacity, driven front suspension... Long time ago, but some of that is still burned into my old brain. The 6-speed sequential Gearbox... I couldn't imagine how it actually worked, but think Indy IRL technology.... on steroids! And yes, they were 4-wheel drive Trophy and Baja 500 trucks, but fundamentally similar. Your video series is inspiring me to recreate the "Old F-150" in spirit, but 2WD. That should add a level of unpredictably added oversteer, on- throttle understeer... and a different experience than what I've been used to, running RC 4X4s exclusively. My wife might not like you after this!! 🤪 I'm now in Tucson, with washes, open sand areas, and even some rocky, hilly bits that will be challenging.... and FUN!! Sorry for the life story! But this just fired up my brain... But finding a 325mm wheelbase, F-150 hardbody...... daunting to impossible! Looking forward to more from you, and this build. I completely forgot the POINT!! I believe it had 17" or 18" CNC machined beadlock rims, but don't quote me.
Does is have power loss with front driveshaft? I want to custom build a 2wd pre runner like a traxxas UDR but not sure where to start. I would like to stick with 1/10 scale instead of my UDR’s scale. But it would be cool in that size.. thoughts?
The interior quickly stopped that idea. In the earlier parts that was the plan mainly because I wanted to overdrive the front and run it reversed but the interior got in the way. It made more sense this way because of my custom battery location. The only way this truck will work is if the weight is close to the rear.

They were from Ebay and they look exactly like the shrink mounts. One side did did Crack, layer separation. But for crawling they should work great. Just don't drive off a sand dune lol.

Dude...I’ve been stoked about this build since I saw it on Scale Metals Supply’s IG story. So sick.
Right on bro. Appreciate the interest and thanks for watching.
I can't wait to see it finished
Me too man pretty excited on this build, thanks for watching.
Dude this is a true build! Love seeing this stuff. Its going to be sick!

These builds are so awesome
Thank you for following along 🤙
Love a good old fashioned yard sale :)
Lol we love a good yard sale. Miss you bro be on tomorrow.
Very cool. 1.55” wheels might be worth trying to get a bigger selection of smaller diameter tires.
I like your style. I have been looking at 1.5 and 1.7 tires and I think it would still look good too. Thanks for watching buddy
I love the build, definitely up my alley, can't wait to see it done.
Thanks man appreciate the support. Final assembly is almost complete I hope to have part 5 done by this next Friday, 🤞😎
Awesome video my man good stuff on the rig nice goodies into the build great job thumbs up 👍

New sub here love what your doing.
Thanks for following along and appreciate the support. 🤟

That would of been nice as a tray back without rear bed
Great idea

Fender flares are the proline prerunner fenders for the proline Ranger body, based on Darren Parsons TTB 1450 Ranger.

I agree, are those tires really the best size, how about 1.55s? Those come a fair bit smaller.
Check out the next parts in this series

These are a great project to build into 2wd, difficult but rewarding
I don't know if it's in your building or engineering range but wouldn't it be better to put the motor and gearbox to the front?

Nice built where you get the wide body adds

They were from Ebay and they look exactly like the shrink mounts. One side did did Crack, layer separation. But for crawling they should work great. Just don't drive off a sand dune lol.
Trailings arms are way to short ?!
I disagree, compared to a yeti length arm these still work really good, thanks for watching 👀
Where did you get the seats bro?
Amain Hobbies, rc4wd prp buckets
