In idea for snacks for the girls is have a snack box for each of them and let them pick at the beginning of the day however many you want them to eat. Once their snack box is empty for the day they are done snacking for the day and they have to wait till the next meal.

I understand what you mean about the snacking. I am a teacher and in the summer my daughter and I are home together. What I had to do with her is put her on a schedule., posted on the fridge- 8am breakfast, 12pm lunch, 3pm snack, then dinner. I figured this was similar to her schedule during the school year. She learned that if she asked for a snack outside of those times the answer was going to be a firm NO. She was driving me insane before I though of this. But she learned after a while. And an added benefit she learned to tell time really well by the end of the first summer. Good Luck!

I am so glad I am not the only one that does that pre-wash thing with dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I KNOW that is what the dishwasher's job is, but I find that if I do a quick pre-wash like you did, they come out cleaner and no streaks. I also have an older machine, so it just doesn't do as good a job as the newer ones do. :) You did such a great job mamma! I LOVE your channel!

My daughter is a two year old snack head and doesn’t usually eat her dinner because she’s all snacked out. 😂😂 So the plan this summer is to feed her breakfast in the morning and pack lunch everyday we go out and by dinner she’ll eat...I hope! Keep it simple for the summer; salads, sandwiches, tacos, etc...I’m a stay at home mom + graduate student online and my saving grace has been scheduling and not overthinking it. 🧡

Gia, maybe you should try scanning school work papers to reference back to for Ava instead of actually keep the papers. Or maybe limit yourself to one binder worth of space to keep and no more.

For Ava's cradle cap issues try putting raw honey into her shampoo. Put the shampoo directly on her scalp and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then go in with a scalp brush. Her scalp SHOULD stay clear between washes

Jia, you should scan all your kids’ school documents and keep them organized in a folder on your computer. Label them descriptively and whenever you’re looking for something, you just have to search by key terms. Then, you don’t have to decide what to keep because you can keep all of it. And whenever you need something, you can just print it out as a PDF.

Keep them on a regular eating habit schedule. No snacking for the sake of snacking I say. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and whatever snacks they usually have. LOTS of fruit and veges for snacks if they want to munch. Otherwise you're creating bad eating habits that are hard to break later.

Kids are off for the summer, hubby has to work until June 7th, and afterward, it's road trip time. I can't wait. Concerning school work, it all went into the trash. Somethings I kept, but most of it went into the trash. We have 8 kiddies and clutter comes easy.

A friend had a 'secret' room where she kept three dressers. Some people might use the room for luggage or a roll-away bed). In each dresser she would keep different papers from each of her three children of poems or 'art work', clay ashtrays, report cards, macaroni bracelets and she dated them. When they were all grown she had put the stuff together in a special way and presented each as memory gifts so they could see what they'd accomplished over grade school and high school years...Her grandkids enjoyed it also.

My kids are almost 8&9...boy and girl. Since they were 3 years old I noticed they were eating all the snacks and not eating meals. So.... I cut off snacks! It was really hard the first couple days, but now they get all they want for three squares a day and that’s it! I read a book that talks about how it is healthier for kids so their system can fully empty and cleanse itself of toxins. I am so glad I made that move. Don’t get me wrong, I give them a snack to take to co-op so there is no FOMO, and have some on hand to tide them over if a meal is late. But other than that...no snacks!

maybe im the only mom that will say this but i just let my kids snack all day if thats what they want (doesnt mean chips and cookies all day). growth spurts typically happen during the summer because our kids are eating more so that can be good. just like adults dont all have the same exact eating schedule, kids also have their own food preferences. as long as most of the snacks are somewhat nutritious im good with it! when school starts back they will be back on their regular eating schedule :)

exactly what you said - check if they're actually hungry. stick to the 3 meals for sure so that at least you know what's in their bellies. teach them what it feels like to be satisfied so that they can be in tune with their own bodies as time goes on. are they bored, hungry or satisfied? also, an idea for their school memories - a plastic bankers box or hanging file box from staples - one file for each year. then you'll only have one box per girlie at graduation. also, photo books for each year that fit in the files in the filing box. love your channel!

  • @Nat073

For all your hair products maybe get 4 plastic bins that you can use to separate each person's hair products and then when it's time to do that person's hair you can just grab their basket. For the 4th bin you could put all the products that work for everyone. Plastic will be good because if it gets dirty you can just wipe it down. This also helps with being able to reach the stuff in the back. Also for the coffee station a cute basket for all the coffee stuff could work the same way and itll also help hide the clutter.

I am a retired educator with 26 years experience in Louisiana. If you live in Georgia, you can go on Georgia Department of Education website to obtain the grade level expectations for each child. Stop keeping all of that paperwork. As your children get older, they will complete assignments thru google class or Prodigy or Learning Farm program for Math. I am 49 with two sons still in school; my only daughter just graduated from high school.

I am a sahm and my son is 5. He will eat all day if I let him also. We do breakfast when he gets up. If he's still hungry a little dry cereal to snack on. Next lunch then he gets a snack around the time his dad gets up, ( hubby works nights). He gets a snack since dad is eating breakfast. Later dinner, if he eats a good dinner then a small snack before bed. All snacks depend on if he ate enough the previous meal. If he eats a good breakfast lunch and dinner he will only snack once. Some days he is hungrier then others but I usually give more food at meals, then snacks.

I used to be attacked by paper. But I’ve started the habit of sorting the mail before I even set it down. And the school folder - same thing. I open it, look through, if there’s something worthy of the fridge I put it up (one item only!!) and the rest to the trash. After the magnet gets too heavy (because I clip the next paper over the old one) then I take the stack and move it to that years folder we have. Each start of the year she gets a folder for stuff she wants to keep. I have a folder for stuff like documents and standardized tests and things, hers is not as official. But we try to keep no more than 1-2 papers a week, and then it goes on one of those boxes you have for the year - but our goal is to keep that from k-12 with their yearly folder only.

Go through it a couple years from now and you’ll see how much of what you keep is the same stuff over and over. Then you might question why do We keep everything but we never go through them? Do we even look at our own memories or families’!? One or two things we’ll cherish, otherwise they sit in a box for that one day when you look through it all and then pack it away again.

Breakfast is around 7, they have a snack around 10-10:30, lunch is at noon, afternoon snack around 3:30, dinner between 5-6. They go to bed at 7 (up and down with the sun lol).
Sometimes they ask for more snacks but unless we've had a REAlLY active day we pretty much stick to that eating schedule :)

Kids and snacks!! 😩😩😩 I teach second grade and our schedule was off during the last week of school, so they started asking for snacks at 8:15 a.m. Children who go to school are accustomed to having a limited amount of food during the day, so maybe scheduling a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack before dinner might help. You could also put out a snack basket for each day, and when the snacks are gone, they're gone...until the next day.

  • @yohairarivas4988
    @yohairarivas4988 5 ปีที่แล้ว

We do 3 meals & 2 snacks, 1 snack after breakfast and one snack in the afternoon. If they play outside or really playing hard then another snack if needed. But I would make sure that one of those snacks is fruit or veggies so they aren’t just asking for snacks so they can eat junk all day. Sometimes As one of the snacks I make them big fruit smoothies with a handful of spinach and I feel like that nourishes them and they aren’t and famished. Sometimes they may just be dehydrated and asking for food instead. So make sure they get their water in. Hope this helps.

So, I am way behind, but my plan is keep a 3 in. (3 ring) binder with samples of the kids' work, creating a portfolio for each boy. If the binder starts to get too full, then it is time to cull more. I also plan on having them eventually take ownership of their portfolio and what they want to keep. My suggestion would be to keep your boxes for each girl during the year and then curate down to a binder at the end. Maybe you want a 1 in. binder for each girl for each grade? I want something a bit more streamlined, because we are homeschoolers and if someone were to ask I could show them, simply, what the boys have accomplished.
As for lunches, maybe continue making lunches as you would for school and a separate snack box. Keep them on a specific shelf in the fridge. Tell them they can have the lunch box any time after 11:00 and the snack box anytime after 2:00. But let them know they cannot have anything else until dinner time. They can learn to self-manage/regulate and they won't be asking you for food all day. And you will know/control what they ate. Not really speaking from experience, just brainstorming what I think I would try...

My teens have always wanted to snack all day all the time during the summer. I generally allow one snack in between breakfast and lunch, and another between breakfast and dinner, unless they play super hard outside (riding bikes, etc). And they always have to have a piece of fruit or veggie and some sort of protein with their snacks. That seems to help cut it down, but to be honest I usually expect my boy is gonna eat us onto the street during the summer. Sigh

Why? Why? Why? Make it hard in yourself? Use the rinse feature on your dishwasher. Then start it to clean the dishes. You should also consider using vinegar in the rinse aid feature in your dishwasher. If it does not have one, use 1/2 Cup vinegar in the bottom of dishwasher before starting the cleaning cycle. Hope these tips help! Jia! Love you girl! This little grey haired Asian grandma loves you and your family! You are so great with your girls! Take care Kathy from California! ❤

My 2 girls are each a year younger than yours, I’ve been home with them since birth... the way I’ve figured out to avoid getting asked “can i have a snack?” 1,000 times each day is by having set meal/snack times. I handle meals at 8,12, and 6. They handle their own snacks - at 10 and 3 I have an alarm set on our Echos in our house to tell them that it’s snack time. They can get anything they want from the pantry. They serve themselves and clean up after themselves. If it’s not one of those times and they are hungry they can grab a fruit or veggie.

In my case the extra snacking usually is because they are bored. So I try to keep them busy with something.my kids have a choice of a snack before lunch and one before dinner and they can have fruit or veggies anytime and that way I don't bust my budget and I make sure they are drinking plenty of water because dehydration can make you more hungry.

I am all about snacks in between meals! Helps with the crankiness. I'll let them have a snack in the morning and one in the afternoon. But if I cook dinner snacking stops 30-45 min before dinner. If they are hungry after dinner they may have a fruit, veggie, or water. I don't do snacking all day long, that gets expensive!

My (teacher 30 years but no kids) suggestion - considering you are *on top* of the school game is to PITCH the papers (around 4:45 mark). I suggest keeping specific stats in areas you and the school deem necessary. Take photos and store in folders on your phone, perhaps. In the end, I'm just throwing out ideas. I couldn't stand keeping all that paper.

Summer snacking is the WORST. I had to become a drill sergeant about this. We have breakfast, 10AM snack, lunch, 3PM snack, dinner. If they want to eat anything in between it has to be carrots/celery/apples. It's a constant battle but def adds structure

I've noticed my kids tend to snack more if they're bored or on electronics more than usual. If it hasn't been long since they've eaten and they said they were full, I just tell mine no that we dont eat for no reason. Sometimes there is fighting and pouting, but oh well.

I buy our snacks when I grocery shop once a week. My kids know that once the snacks are gone that's it, there won't be any more until the following week. I used to buy snacks at Sam's but it was too much and they were definitely overeating

My brother has eczema all over his body. He has yet to find a product that keeps his hair moisturized and non flaky. He had hair that was stopped just below his shoulder blades. He finally gave himself a “grown man” (his words!)haircut when he turned thirty.😂😂
I don’t have kids yet but when I have my sisters kids 6&7or my baby brother whose 8 I put them on a schedule like school.....I just added and extra snack so 2 meals and 2 snacks and my sister gives them dinner and possibly dessert. At the school they go to breakfast is between 8:35 and 8:50 am “lunch” depending on the grade is between 10:45 am and Noon. They get a snack between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Then we would give them a snack around 3:30-4:30 and dinner is usually 6pm-7pm.

In our house the kitchen "closes" between certain hours. They know what time meals are and when to expect the next meal, if they are hungry between then... The next meal will be soon enough, lol! Do what works for you. Great video!

I throw paperwork away after I look at it. It's just too much with three kids in school. I keep special holiday art work and report cards. Everything else is trashed immediately. It works for us.

Omg I know the struggle with kids wanting to eat everything! 😆
I try to leave the house as much as I can. When we’re out and about they usually don’t have the time to think about eating, nor do they have access to food 😆
But when it’s a day at home.... yup.....
they snack all day long 🤦🏽‍♀️
I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old, and i shop for groceries every week, plus an additional trip mid-week for just fruit 🍎 😆 🤷🏽‍♀️

I told my daughter she need to have her school stomach for the summer... Lol. I use the crock pot a lot in the summer and we do mostly sandwiches and cereal for lunch if she's not in camp
