I so love Pam Ayres - her poems and her recitations of life with her family and other experiences. Would love to see more of her on TH-cam. A very funny lady who could be cheeky but never lewd.
I followed Pam from time I first saw her on opportunity knocks in 1975 I was amazed as I never knew until then poetry cud be fun!! Stuff we did at school left me cold!! At 32 I put pen to paper myself and wrote like I never knew I cud a friend suggested I share some and so I did the rounds with my poems in Bedford area and my accents very similar so started being called Bedford's answer to Pam Ayres!!! Terribly flattered at that I can tell you I was know as Harriet Hobbs maybe some of you out there will remember me?? I moved to Wales in early 2004 I did few recitals there too. Pam has such a good eye for all of life’s experiences and then she tells the story in her own inimitable way. This lady is a treasure and I love both her poems and her chatty chats, they are so down to earth and easy to relate to.
How I wish I could write like Pam Easy does it flow, while mine gets muddled in a jam. Not one to give so easy I huff n puff & it does come out sleazy Alas ! I give up & it's time to admit these laboured lines betray a bard of dimwit
Pam AYRES is the most talented poet in the world! Her brilliant choice of everyday words & funny plot twists are beyond compare. GOD JESUS bless you & more power to you as the poet laureate of England. Robert FAY in AUSTRALIA.

Pam is in a league of her own. She has been making us laugh for decades with her so very descriptive and humorous poems.
Some things are so perfectly English, and Pam is someone we should all be proud of, Don't stop writing Pam,you have a big fan base,😃

You've got to love Pam. She should be a Dame. And Poet Laureate, because we can all relate to her, unlike most poets.
Such a great talent. Why isn't Pam our Poet Laureate?
Because she's not very good.

What a delight Pam Ayres is, and indeed always has been.

Hahaha, loves the poems and her! Those dimples are so cute!
Love, love LOVE pam Ayres.
I still have one of her vinyl records with this poem on it. Not sure where it is, though. Probably 'up in the attic'!
Brilliant love Pam 💖
I laughed & the cat on the stool next to me ran out! Maybe she understood the sad end!🤣
One really talented lady.
I love Pam Ayres. She's so funny and depicts human nature to a tee.
A national treasure.
Pam what a legend
A lovely talented lady
BRAVO👏👏
Just love Pam.❤❤❤❤❤❤
This poem reminds me of the poetry of CJ.Dennis, A Sentimental Bloke.
She is absolutely brilliant.
I don't get it.
Well, here's somethings to be gotten in this poem, it rhymes cleverly, it's funny with lots of irony, and she told it well. Merry Christmas!
@@tardigrade9493 It wasn't funny.
Opinions, everyone has one, or something like that.
A British treasure. Is she a Dame yet.
PLOT TWIST: Steve fancies Basil.
Very witty lady. Very funny. I remember her back in the 70s on tv.

Think Kurt Zouma would love the end of this poem 😺

I am laughing but leave the cat alone😂
What did the poor cat fo to deserve that fate. I laughed despite the end . Humans? Why do cats love us when we can be so mean?
