Hi Rodrigo! It's not a dumb question at all. Some of the general strategies and principles do apply, but many of the tactical elements do not, because regular pieces cannot jump backward and kings cannot fly in American / English checkers and draughts. I hope this helps!
Excellent video I tend to always play the single corner exchange opening as white, but you make great points sensei. I should play different ways to see different things. I feel like i figure out new ways to lose each week. Finally however some wins are being mixed in. Do you by chance no any programs that let you load pdf files of matches into them for study?

I am not sure about loading PDF files, but I do know with CheckerBoard you can load in PDN files, and using the engine Kingsrow, you can study and analyze your games. I just played a pretty good game by my current standards lol .Although it was through the app "Checkers online" and their data recording consists of jpgs and not the pdn files (no numbers) the jpgs certainly help me study at my current skill level but is there a space where I can upload the game for a review from you without too much trouble? I recorded the game but the data is 55 jpgs. Although it was a long game it ended in a win.

Just an idea, maybe you can tell something regarding strong formations and how to build them up, and at the same time avoiding weak formations (and how these look like). I completely understand! It can be a rollercoaster, and that's OK! The key is to understand the mistakes and then improve upon them. Losing is important because you can build off of that and then do the best you can to not make the same mistake twice.
