Great video again, that Furlong double pretty special, particularly considering the players he shrugs off! Then in one of your other videos he skins two Scotland defenders! As a Scot I do remember Johnnie Beattie could bat away defenders with a big paw, was it POC on the way to the line in 2010? I think Geoff Parling in 2013 also got the swat aside.

Good video. Kini Murimurivalu did a great handoff in the Tigers vs Saints match at Franklins Gardens in 2021/22. practically through one player into the other and steamrolled them both.

some of these were great, the Lomu double hand-off is iconic, while others were really funny, like the slow motion women, and the Sunday league amateur getting laughed at from the side-lines...I love that they don't take it too seriously haha

I've always loved a great "don't argue", but ever since I started playing the game in 1990 I've been amazed that fends to the face and neck were legal. Thankfully this has finally been brought to an end. A big fend to the chest is a wonderful thing, long may it continue.

A tip tackle of a fend! Easily my favorite.
It goes to show how effective the technique is against a defender coming in too high. Coetzee is obviously no slouch.
Best one I ever had was in an intersquad game play 9, ball popped out of the scrum on the other teams put in. I picked it up and fended the opposite 10 for rushed me and dropped him. As much about his actions as mine

With the hand I don't think so. You can fend people in the face as long as your palm is open. You for sure cannot lead with a forearm or elbow

You can only really fend people off when they come in to tackle with their body too high, and the upper chest shoulders neck and head are the best places to put them back off balance. Never seen anyone injured from a fend because it's basically just a strong one armed push
