At the time in the mid-90s when FMac were inducted to RRHOF, Welch was suing FMac for allegedly renegotiating royalties from his period in the band without compensating him properly. The whole matter was settled out-of-court and left a bad taste in the mouth of FMac, in particular, the McVies. Welch speculated that this is the reason he was not part of the FMac induction.

No, man. No way. I think the 80's cemented the whole era.
Sorry mate, so many old guys are thinking rock music is dead, but if you don't know Living Colour or the Hold Steady, it's sad. These are top 10 ever...no doubt. Can't live in he 60's or 70's all our lives - we need to move on....
There is alot of good new rock and roll out there it's just harder to find, volbeat, the struts...and some of our 70s heroes are still putting out good music like alice cooper, just that none of it's on the radio
When Led Zeppelin ended?
Give Halestorm a try, I agree with you, they're an exception, I've seen them live 5 times, Lzzy is the best female rocker to come along since Ann Wilson.
What a genius television program!! Thank you for making and recording this in the first place and also for putting it on TH-cam! Truly a real treasure of music history. ❤
Also strange seeing Bob Margolis playing a Gibson SG Custom. Good days back then. I was alive and got to see them often.
Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin!
This was the day of my birth! Legendary day!😂😂😂
stage is awesome,,looks like a big ole snare drum.....
Can not imagine moving those huge Fender cabinets! But its worth it, they put out lots of Rock & Roll attitude!
chuck poured out his heart i bet he got some nice rewards from the girl in the british flag t-shirt
It's a shame that Bob Welch wasn't inducted into the HOF. The guy saved the band and that was their appreciation. SMH
Totally agree, it’s shameful-hurtful and what were they (not) thinking?
Was able to enjoy Bob Welch’s musical prowess twice. He played at ‘78 Texas Jamm and opened for the Cars in ‘79 @ KC Arrowhead Stadium, along with Nugent, Heart, Sammy Hager & local band Missouri. Love his ‘78 album “French Kiss”, still have it. Ebony eyes and Sentimental Lady are great songs. So sad about his painful health problems that led to his death by suicide. We, his fans, will never forget him!
R.I.P. Bob Welch🕊️🥀🎶
-have you seen the YT vid of Bob Welch getting down with a gaggle of men musicians, fronted by Randy California on “I’ve Got a Line on You” song? It’s fantastic! Lots of eye 🍭 for the ladies too, 🥰
@@KittyGrizGriz Yes, the vid where Skunk Baxter is having so much fun.
Welch speculated that this is the reason he was not part of the FMac induction.
he saved the band from oblivion, should have him his $$$ & a lawsuit wouldn't have happened
First time I've seen a bandolier of harmonicas.
I had to look twice when I saw that. I can honestly say that’s a first for me and I live just outside of the NOLA area. Pretty wild.
The best music show ever!
Classic episode!
The great Dan Hartman with Edgar Winter.
Went on to have some great success in the mid seventies with dance R&B/ Disco tracks like Instant Replay and Relight My Fire and several others. I believe he wrote Free Ride as well.
His biggest song came in the 80s with I can dream about you!
Ieft us way to soon.
It's a rock and rhythm and blues edition of The Midnight Special.
Rip Christine Mcvie, you was a amazing songwriter/musician... Songbird...
I have once again realized that he has an outstanding style!
Shawn Phillips! Damn!!!
His hair!! Is absolutely gorgeous!! So glad Chuck asked him to “let it all hang down”. This is my 1st time seeing-hearing him, what a guitar slinger/singer.

He plays some funky folk stuff. I took a walk, is great
@@karlsinclair9918 Thanks for the tip, 😉
@KittyGrizGriz it's on TH-cam. Just search and listen to the album version before the live one which is a little too fast! Take care!
That's Hollywood Fats playing guitar with Muddy Waters.
I was wondering who that was? I'm not familiar with him.
Back in the 70's each episide of the Midnight Special had anywhere from three to half a dozen iconic acts. Every single episode. And they were all different. Now, I'd ask the universe to please bring back this monumental show but sadly there's just no talent of this level to feature these days. Look at this one episode,... Chuck Berry, Edgar Winter, Fleetwood Mac, Muddy-freakin' WATERS, I mean, it doesn't get much better than that.
Interesting to see Rick Derringer go back and forth from bass to guitar...didnt know that
Amazing lineup!
The late Harry Nilsson also did the song "Spaceman" with Peter Frampton on guitar from 1972 "Son Of Smillisson".
Outstanding
MUDDY!
Never knew Weston was that good... good era for the Mac !
I didn’t either….. now I know some of the parts I thought Bob Welch was playing was played by Weston.
Dan Hartman "instant replay"... "relight my fire"...RIP...
An iconic artist on the Midnight Special, and he's so amazing and his guitar playing is awesome 🎉🎉
Fabulous show, great to see the wonderful Johnny Taylor live, what a wonderful voice.
Has there ever been a band like Fleetwood mac that just kept going through so many personel changes and just kept getting better?
This is after the euro (UK) tour that ' The London Chuck Berry Sessions LP came from.. THE Very Best versions ( Live or otherwise) of My Ding-a-ling / Realin' N Rockin' / and Johnny B. Goode you will ever experience, listen to the crowd 🥳 at the end of 'Goode' refusing to quit so the 'desperate' show management screaming into the mic can set up for the next performers (Pink Floyd) who were 'god-like' to the fans in England @the time 💨🍃😒 🤣 (Chuck❗Chuck❗❗CHUCK❗❗❗) 🎉😎🇺🇲🎶💪😁
Love seeing Fleetwood Mac on the MS. Just wish they would have performed Oh Well or Hypnotized. Still amazing performance by them though.
Best episode ever!
Rick Derringer looks about 18!
But that boy sure could play, he’s the American Steve Marriott!
But no one ever sang like Steve Marriott. Small Faces, Humble Pie... tragic how he died.
The next episode after this from November 10, 1973, was hosted by Jerry Lee Lewis, and features appearances by Linda Gail Lewis, Ballin' Jack, Dalton and Dubarri, Flash, B.B. King, and Ike & Tina Turner.
This is , I'm sorry... Legendary! Somehow they nailed it. Quality, soul and hard work. Never saw Shawn live though I have his works on vinyl. All the rest so left alone, so perfect 70's. Turn this up!
