Wow, great job for two would-be Carpenters! The catio l👀ks amazing! I can't wait to see the accessories put into place. Are you going to treat the wood to protect it from the rain and sun? Remember to add another lock at the bottom of the door because Billy is big enough to push through. I think we'll get an update to say you've built another one for someone.💰🤭👍🏼

You need perches and shelves and a bird feeder in yard so he can look at birds . Cats like climbing.
He has all that now, this was just the shell
Looks great, but I’d suggest adding the chicken wire to that spot by the fence. Billy might not be able to get out that way, but he may get stuck behind there. I’d be paranoid lol
We did look at that, but the gap between the wood and the fence is more than big enough for him to walk through without getting stuck ☺️ he also likes poking his paws through the fence to try pester next doors mini dachshund 😂 (it's friendly)

You both did an amazing job and Billy seemed to be loving it. I'd love to see an update once the furniture is in. I think you've made a very responsible decision for Billy by building him a catio. He's probably never going to be a street smart cat and could end up in all sorts of trouble if he was given free rein. The only point I wanted to make was that I would put a lock on the bottom of the door as well so that he can't push it open and squeeze through. Maybe you've already done this though so forgive me if that is the case? Well done to you both xx 😽

If you guys can successfully complete a project like this, you can probably work your way thru almost anything and still be together! Congrats to you both and congrats to Billy for having a catio built with love. It looks so spacious and inviting. I'm sure Billy will be a little more patient about getting his catio furniture and scratching stations. Maybe the side against the wood fence could be a designer wall adorned with some of Billy's favorite home decor. I'm confident he'll let you know! Cheers!

Make sure you give Billy a (waterproof probably sensibly) shelter he can really hide in too and think how you’re going to keep warm in the winter when he wants to be outside and you want the window shut 😆

It's funny because I also have an allergy to cats! One of the reasons I chose a Bengal breed was because of their undercoat, which I'm not allergic to but most moggy cats I am!
@@TheSliceOfJess I’m so glad you were able to find one that you’re not allergic to! Maybe one day I will. I’d have to spend time with a cat for a bit to see if I’d have a reaction. And sadly I don’t know that there are any Bengal breeders local to my area.

I just put down a small piece artificial grass on the decking for my baby. It comes by the meter and was super cheap. Something he can roll on and sun himself 😊great team work you two!!!! 🎉❤

the bottom section of the door is spot to escape if he pushes against it , because the door lock is securing more of the top section

Build a cat grass box he will love that and w all that rain I would def stain all the wood and maybe put a polycarbonate roof on it!!
I love my catio I have climbing poles, perches, plants, chairs for me to sit in the catio w my cats! Around it on the outside I planted plants to attract butterflies, bird feeders/baths etc so my cats can watch but not harm them n etc!!!

We’ve got a Bengal and she was supposed to be a house cat but she had other ideas !!! The harness wasn’t a great success so we do allow her outside time but not overnight. It is a worry but she loves being outside so it wouldn’t feel fair to deny her that freedom.

We thought about this but Billy really likes looking at the birds when they fly over 😂 I'm looking at getting like an 'out house' that he can sit in if he wants to! I might also look at some type of grass for part of the bottom too, even if it's artificial so he can have both the wood or grass to step on!
