But I don't understand one thing which is more important whether to check the electricity flowing or the fuel tank indicator I don't know why the company has put this metre in replacement of the fuel indicator.
I have a theory.. as REs customers base still buy REs for the nostalgia, they kept that old meter from the 70s bullet. Though I personally would prefer a fuel gauge.
I see a lot of undeserved hate towards the ammeter. Let me try to defend it a little bit by pointing out that automotive charging systems are more reliable nowadays, and thusly - for most users anyway - an ammeter isn't as crucial a piece of kit as it was back in the day. However, those riding older motorcycles will know that the dynamo / alternator, the rectifier bridge (in case of the latter) and the voltage regulator were a lot more prone to failure in the past. It's also true with any aging electrical component, but that's a different discussion. Anyway, a charging system failure often means getting stranded in the middle of nowhere on an incline or under a bridge, most likely at night on a moonless sky, in late autumn and during a bloody storm. It might seem adventurous nowadays, but it was a serious drawback back in the day, before the time of mobile phones and a million gas stations per square kilometer. As such, knowing the state of your charging system and how much juice you've got left in the battery is GOLD. A voltmeter will only tell you so much about how you're doing and will give imprecise readings on the alternator's output if the battery is discharged (at least in the case of the newer - brushless, permanent-magnet - systems that are used on motorcycles, as opposed to the automotive-style copper-wound rotor, brushed systems), but an ammeter will actually tell you if the charging system IS charging the battery or not. What an ammeter does is show the flow of electrons one way or another. This means it literally shows which way the current is flowing, i.e. from (discharging) or to (charging) the battery. By using an ammeter and voltmeter in tandem, even an inexperienced user will be able to assess the situation before it gets out of hand. Using the ammeter as a way to tell when the points are closed or open is merely a fortunate gimmick. And as far as factory equipment goes, I would much rather have a factory-fitted ammeter that's already calibrated to the electrical specifications of my motorcycle than a voltmeter, which is by comparison a far simpler thing to install.
I dont think that the 45 people who disliked the video understood the meaning of why is to this was created ( the video ) Good job done buddy ... really informative .. and equally good presentation of the same ! Keep these coming fella !!
You can keep track of the fuel with the reserve knob and trip meter. Keep in mind that you got another 100 odd kilometres left when the reserve needs to be switched on
Nice Info sam... Pls also explain how difficult it was to Crank in older days whenever each time the Ammeter needle was not in center... pls explain using old Classic 350, which needs Ammeter, as yours is a new one.
I am thinking of changing my spoke wheels to alloy wheels as I wish to change my tyres to tubeless ones. Any suggestions reg this? Also I would like to know which tyres are better for long rides as I wish to take my bike to manali leh trip.
At present my bike (claissic 350)is not getting start and self start also not working ...it means battery is low or something other prob is there..?? And Netrol(N)symbol also showing with low power..
S Vijayakumar yes - higher the RPM, more positive the amp meter will be meaning that the engine will be charging the battery. With the BS4 models, it's better to set the rpm little bit higher as the headlight is always on.
After riding bike for 1 km and continued riding it does your bike ampmeter needle comes to middle As in the begining the needle moves towards positive direction... Does this battery stops charging when continuously ride bike ???
sarath kasibhatta mobile charging won't have any affect but fitting multiple lights will reduce battery life. Install LED lights if possible as the use very little charge.
I have classic 350 bs4 engine..n 1st service done..i want to Install exhaust system which has a good n better performance without harming my bike engine so, can u suggest me which exhaust will be best..?
Hanshraj Singh ...hey whatever the exhaust models, go for good quality ones. there are cheaper silencers available in the market. They are without glasswool... and very loud sound. go for glasswool silencers.. I fitted glasswool short bottle exhaust...good bass ...earlier i tried short bottle without glasswool...but the sound irritates after sum time
I wonder, why people are asking about the shine of the bike. Common it's a new bike, just go through the Odo... I want to inform all these ppl, pls note, Sam's Bike is Run for just 980 KMS. What is reason behind not shining the bike in such a less use.
mera ek question tha ki kabhi kabhi meri cl350 m gear stuck ho jaate....Actually i mean to say that ki Na toh neutral lagta hai or na hi koi gear...yeh problem mere ko bullet chalate tym nhi aati hai jab khadi rheti hai tab aati hai....aise m kya kru...plz help..
Sumedh Nandedkar you are correct. I think fuel gauge is more expensive and requires more wiring etc. That's why the are stuck with this ancient amp meter.
Vishnu Raj same principle but with the headlight on. With BS4 if you don't actually ride the bike, you will see that the ammeter is always in negative and the battery will drain
ya..You know that, There's no fuel metered in Royal enfield classic Can you tell me please,How will i know petrol condition in my Bullet..Eg:Tanky Full or low Tanky low
I want to ask that, i heard that if in electra 350 if the battery is down so the bike will not start or run So is this the same situation in classic 350.?
dushyant kumar same as these bikes use "Full DC" electric system. The way you can tell if the electric system is full dc or not is if you can turn on the headlight while the engine is off (but the ignition is on) then its dull DC. if the headlight turns on only when the engine is on the its AC system.
dushyant kumar yes bro sad part but true royal enfield does not start if battery is down. Had to get mine towed to service center and get battery changed. That's why I feel ammeter is quite important in enfield.
If it shows positive all the time then that means your battery condition is not very good and the engine is changing the battery all the time as it's detecting low voltage
Dark blazer adding to your point, majority of people don't know how exactly to use it. They seem to think it's to see how seamlessly their hair swivels when they are riding. You can find most of them positioned the mirror towards their faces.
There are many options. Suggesting just a few here. 1. Open the tank and shake the bike. 2. Remove the fuel line going to the carburetor and open the fuel tap. 3. Or finally visit the nearest petrol pump.
AMP metre for my classic is not working properly,it consumes lot of battery power, garage people says it will cost Rs.600 for Original with no guarantee or warranty. Please help advice me what to do??
Rohan Chauhan hi. The problem is probably not with your ammeter as ammeter only shows the flow of current, it doesn't actually consume any power from the battery. Something else is probably wrong. Is it's BS4?
H Sam he was telling me that there is something wrong with the Ammeter and i need to change it, it will cost me 600 bucks for original with no guarantee or warranty. This is it
I am talking about the Bullet 500 still being sold in India, brother. I bought mine in November of 2016, it has one. I visited a store last week. They're keeping it. Though, I believe, it's only for our country right now. Mine was also one of the last to have a carburetor. 2017 models in India ditched it for EFI to comply with emission norms.
RE is so focused on maintaining the retro vibe, they still provide halogen lights on their every bike

Adrian Silea very well written Adrian. thank you.
Much obliged, sir.
Thanks for info
Thanks for info
Good explanation, thank you.
i think they should replace amp meter with fuel indicator now
You are correct. I think fuel gauge is more expensive and requires more wiring etc. That's why the are stuck with this ancient amp meter.
H Sam but the bike too is at an expensive rate , so they should surely provide fuel gauge... instead of amp meter
Ankush Shetty real men go for amp metre fuel indicator is for pussies
clash ott hahaha
They already have fuel indicator in Thunderbird, they just need to reuse it here.
I dont think that the 45 people who disliked the video understood the meaning of why is to this was created ( the video )
Good job done buddy ... really informative .. and equally good presentation of the same ! Keep these coming fella !!
Raktim Sen thanks for your kind comments.
thanks for d video buddy... useful info with proper demo
Perfect description! Very good!
Everything that everyone could understand.... Nice video
Excellent, thanks for the information, especially about the older 350s.
You can keep track of the fuel with the reserve knob and trip meter. Keep in mind that you got another 100 odd kilometres left when the reserve needs to be switched on
Never new about that amp.metre. thanks for info
Very good explanation... 🙏💯
Nyc video.... i just wanted n I also very hpy to see a video... how to maintain RE
Nice Info sam... Pls also explain how difficult it was to Crank in older days whenever each time the Ammeter needle was not in center... pls explain using old Classic 350, which needs Ammeter, as yours is a new one.

Hy Sam .. my re Classic 350.. ammetr s not showing any deflection.. n no self start too.. it start y kick.. n get off if we start heading light..
sunil sunny check the battery bro
At present my bike (claissic 350)is not getting start and self start also not working ...it means battery is low or something other prob is there..?? And Netrol(N)symbol also showing with low power..
Your bike is shining... How..?? You did ceremic coat or something else?? I also own chestnut and want to know how to keep it shining.
Sirf 980 kms chali hai, chamkegi kyu nahi
Hi Sam. Thanks for the video. Is any correlation between amp meter indication and rpm adjustments? Please tell me
S Vijayakumar yes - higher the RPM, more positive the amp meter will be meaning that the engine will be charging the battery. With the BS4 models, it's better to set the rpm little bit higher as the headlight is always on.
H Sam Thanks. Yes mine is bs4 gunmetal which i kept bit higher
How do you know you are not running out of fuel beforehand? Is there any way to find out about fuel in classic 350?
After riding bike for 1 km and continued riding it does your bike ampmeter needle comes to middle
As in the begining the needle moves towards positive direction...
Does this battery stops charging when continuously ride bike ???
Any idea what would be the reason if the power is draining out from the battery even when ignition off and goes flat in 2 days.
Bro I have changed my old Bullet regulator rectifier with new electra rectifier
is there any problem in future for battery bro?????
My ammeter is showing a deflection to the right in idle.. The needle stays midway between the Centre and the + sign
Jose George this might mean that your battery is bit weak and the system is constantly charging the battery.
Same problem
may i know the effect on battery if i fix additional lighting systems and mobile charging ports
sarath kasibhatta mobile charging won't have any affect but fitting multiple lights will reduce battery life. Install LED lights if possible as the use very little charge.
H Sam Tq can you please suggest me which brand led set is good to install
I dont know what is available in India. I live in Australia - sorry.
H Sam OK Tq I will enquire at RE franchise
I have classic 350 bs4 engine..n 1st service done..i want to Install exhaust system which has a good n better performance without harming my bike engine so, can u suggest me which exhaust will be best..?
Hanshraj Singh megaphone exhaust will increase pickup.

I want to inform all these ppl, pls note, Sam's Bike is Run for just 980 KMS.
What is reason behind not shining the bike in such a less use.
if choke is pulled, the needle falls completely down to negative side. may the know the reason for it
I have a question once died the battery we can start by kicker or not?
Yes you can. But still the battery needs to be connected.
plz let me know why it never goes in positive side.its always in middle and sometimes it goes in negative side.
How to use fuel and abs indicator
How to check fuel meter in such bikes
we making padkaa sound on silencer engine have any problem
mera ek question tha ki kabhi kabhi meri cl350 m gear stuck ho jaate....Actually i mean to say that ki Na toh neutral lagta hai or na hi koi gear...yeh problem mere ko bullet chalate tym nhi aati hai jab khadi rheti hai tab aati hai....aise m kya kru...plz help..
Aman Tiwari happens with me too. The only reason i can come up with it is that it's a shitty bike.

Thanks thanks thanks...God blessu stay ssafe
superb broo
Sir..my amp meter reamain const. in midle while i excelerate..i hav bs4 model of standard..
Here all the new classic 350 have AHO system. If it is harmful to the bike?
Nibin A Kumar it will reduce the life of the battery. But won't harm the bike in any other way.
ok thank you sir
while riding, what is the ideal position for the amp meter ? mine stays in the middle....
Subham Majumdar should be in the middle.
How to know the fuel indication
Thanks brother
Thanks for the info.
How useless is this!
They could have provided the fuel gauge instead of this useless stuff...
Sumedh Nandedkar you are correct. I think fuel gauge is more expensive and requires more wiring etc. That's why the are stuck with this ancient amp meter.
Is it possible to convert amp meter to fuel guage
like tacho when you accelerate, it mives right haha
Why the ammeter needle does not move too much rightward
Because of voltage regulator.
How to check amp meter on classic 350 BS4 version?
Vishnu Raj same principle but with the headlight on. With BS4 if you don't actually ride the bike, you will see that the ammeter is always in negative and the battery will drain
ya..You know that, There's no fuel metered in Royal enfield classic Can you tell me please,How will i know petrol condition in my Bullet..Eg:Tanky Full or low Tanky low

Hi buddy I have a New classic 350, when I m riding it with 4th and 5th gear the amp meter is in neutral condition why.
Satyaratna Samal normal. Meaning that the is in perfect condition.
How to check petrol in much in my bike
Rupesh creation reserve and main is the only indications in Re about fuel.
what if the engine over charges the battery?.. mine shows postive most of the time
If it shows positive all the time then that means your battery condition is not very good and the engine is changing the battery all the time as it's detecting low voltage
which 350 is best classic or standard
Vishnu Vijayan i prefer classic 350 due to disc brake, Self Starter and better tyres. also like the looks more. engine same.
Ok thanks
Which is more comfort?
I heard that one of these has more vibration than the other
Vishnu Vijayan standard 350. more comfortable seat.
100kmh speed engine have any complaint
Rais KTK vibration
Self starting methode
Isme petrol kaha se dekha jata hai
can we start bike when Amp is negative.i mean bs4 blikes had head light and parking lights on when starting
abhilash ashtathmana yes you can. but bs4 will reduce battery life.
Is removing of side mirrors legal in australia?
anurag 1 you have to have atleast one rear view mirror in a motorcycle.
H Sam ohh...but here almost everbody remove their both mirrors in india😂😂...btw thanks for the info mate.👍🏼
anurag 1 but why ? They are very useful.
H Sam they're very useful mate. But majority of people think it is cool to remove side mirrors here in india.
Dark blazer adding to your point, majority of people don't know how exactly to use it. They seem to think it's to see how seamlessly their hair swivels when they are riding. You can find most of them positioned the mirror towards their faces.
I am asking engine complaint come
How to check fuel in this bike
No way other than using the reserve switch once main tank runs out of fuel. You will have around 100km in reserve.
How to see petrol
There are many options. Suggesting just a few here.
1. Open the tank and shake the bike.
2. Remove the fuel line going to the carburetor and open the fuel tap.
3. Or finally visit the nearest petrol pump.
It would have been better if they gave
Fuel Meter
why company can not provide fuel meter ?
RONI DAS due to cost I think.
excellent
A fuel gauge and RPM meter would do
Pravith Shriyan I think it would lose its classic charm then.
they give electric start ,ignition kill switch , disc brake, flash pass switch but think fuel guage will make it loose classic charm........rip logic
H Sam hi bro, no its BS3 i am planning to visit Royal's authorized service center
Rohan Chauhan please share what they tell you. My friend has BS4 version. The headlight kills battery in BS4 version very quickly
H Sam he was telling me that there is something wrong with the Ammeter and i need to change it, it will cost me 600 bucks for original with no guarantee or warranty. This is it
Improve audio quality please
Good information, but, please dont try fake accent buddy!!
Bhaskarjyoti Bora I am not Indian despite what many people think :)

asif khan should not have any Affects if you buy Megaphone silencer
H Sam thanks for your suggestion.
Bullet 500 still has an ammeter brother.
Dylan David not the new ones. old ones (before 2008) use to.
I picked up mine in April 2016, and it has one. :]

Its Ammeter not Ampmeter !
Ankur Beniwal I think both are correct.
great
Too slow grandad
Amp meter is so Useless...instead of this bull shit RE Must need/require Petrol meters
