  • Hi all. This is a review of my Arrma Outcast 4s and what I think is the main problem with it. This was bought with my own money and is an honest opinion of it. Many thanks indeed for watching. If you have one of these then do you agree? Please like and comment and all that :-)

    Very interesting. Seeing it running on ice, not so grippy rear wheels might help to keep the car down. But you also loose performance.

    Hi Pete, Nice video. I had same issues on my outcast. Tried sway bar on and off. In the end fitted 35kg ecoboost servo and kimbrough heavy duty servo saver. That made it better. However, you still need to throttle off and/or brake to get it to turn quickly. I also fitted chassis brace after cracking chassis. Id recommend that upgrade custom rc do a cheapish one. I havent broken chassis since. I tend to take mine jumping at bmx tracks. Also damaged a couple of shocks so fitted 6s shocks from ebay car stripper which are a bit nicer. I prefer outcast to my bigrock. Better for jumping at bmx track and bigger wheels give it a bit more versatility in longer grass, tougher terrain etc. Cheers

      @PeteWylieRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Neil. That's interesting info and a few people have said about that servo saver so I must get one ordered. Yeah you can't get around the short wheelbase thing of the front wheels being off the ground most of the time and needing to brake to steer. I don't tend to go mad with this but I guess that chassis brace would be a good idea. Need to decide if I want to make it into a Kraton first. Yeah I think that this thing is designed for jumps and the Big Rock is better for doing tail slides. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Really helpful :-)

    Hiya Pete! A very interesting and entertaining video as ever, mate! You can see by the footage you included that it was struggling in the turns, very well demonstrated there! If I was in the market for an Arrma I'd definitely take your advice and go for the 3S models. But you know me, I'll probably just stick to my slow Tamiyas at only 10mph as you saw today! 🤣🤣
    Anyway hope your head is clearing ready for the evening pint. Enjoy the sunshine and all the best, matey! Cheers! 😁✌👍

I've not tested the speed on this but it's around 50mph so I think it would have your Super Clodbuster in a race 🤔 Oh god I've been crazy tired all day today. Yeah, this one is my least favourite of the Arrmas, and that's only from watching them on video... Jumping and doing "stunt truck" stuff is not something I have explored much, so I don't think this one would be targeted for me... Great video Peter once again , ok so I've heard a few saying the same with the Outkast. Now apparently I've heard that the Kimbourogh heavy duty spring fits well in the arrma servo saver .
    I've got this information from a friend of mine , he's running it on his .
    I've really fancied one of these myself now I do feel on the fence about it as I trust your opinion.

      Hiya Chris. Oh yeah somebody else said about that servo saver so I will definitely check it out thanks. It's definitely an issue that even if you are slightly on the throttle the front wheels are off the ground and also it's too heavy and grippy to slide unless the surface is very slippy. Will be interesting to do the Kraton conversion to see if it's better. I think that maybe the 3s cars have hit the sweet spot of size, weight and power. The 6s cars are good but scary fast and you do need a big area for them. Many thanks indeed for your support mate. Much appreciated 😁👍

    In some ways it would be good if they did some arms, like they do for the Lunchbox Mini, so you can have a bit of steering at the back. The do seem to be more for throwing around than being to accurate. Looks great fun either way, just stand clear 😂👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. Ooh it's a tricky question. The Outcast is a bigger and more substantial RC. They both need the steering to be sorted out. The Outcast definitely needs that servo saver upgrade and stronger faster servo. The MT10 I've driven isn't mine but I remember the steering was a bit rubbish when my friend first got it. Apart from the servo upgrade I'm not sure what he did to improve it. I see that the newest version of the Outcast has a centre diff which seems like a good idea for something this size. Bit more expensive though but it might mean you can get a bargain on one of the previous ones like mine with the slipper clutch. Basically I think that you'd be happy with either once you have sorted them out a bit. Thanks for watching the video 😁👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya Dom. The trouble with this is that when you brake into a corner it's so heavy that the rear tyres don't break traction unless you do an extreme braking maneuver like I was showing. It ends up tail dragging and as you know that is not allowed 😂 I think it might be better with some weight over the front wheels, maybe about 100kg 🤔 Cheers for watching mate. Much appreciated 😁👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've not ever done the wide mod on the Granite so hard to say. Both cars are really good fun. I've noticed that the 3s Granite is out of stock now and I'm wondering if they are on the brink of launching a version 4? If they did that and included metal shocks on it then it would be good. The 4s cars are currently better value with the centre diffs, big bore shocks, metal gears etc. Also look at the 4s Kraton which still does back flips but the front wheels are on the ground more often so easier to steer. Thanks for watching 😁

    • @t3floz
      @t3floz 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PeteWylieRC ye it would be cool if they made a granite 4. The only thing that worries me about the outcast 4s is that it’s been reported from many people that the chassi breaks. • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@t3floz The chassis on 3s and 4s cars is pretty much the same but I think that the extra weight of the 4s is possibly the reason that people are breaking them.
