    Have just up-graded my S80 with the new centre console! Thanks to your video I found it quite easy! Mine was perfect with no squeaks! But I noticed that mine was made in China and not Belgium like yours! 🙂

    So I picked this later design panel for my 2009. No change to the design, so what I did was inject hot glue between the two panels to reduce flex. What's dumb is that the BRAND NEW part would squeak when slightly twisted right out of the box. Again, dumb design. Once the hot glue hardened, ZERO creaks and squeaks... a lot less work, and looks good as new.

    Nice job. In my model 2016 there is a problem of squeaking central airflow panel (above the central console). Nasty sound comes during the drive. I wonder if there is a chance to fix it. My big five to a small asisstant in your garrage :)

      I have a similar problem in my 2011 xc60 there's a buzzing that can last for miles, it's strange, seems to depend on the type of road surface I travel on, but looks a whole lot of work removing that fat centre console and still maybe not find it :/

    it is same as me, I do not understand why Volvo used a hard material for this particular area. Although the center console used hard materials, other parts are very soft and good quality.

    Attention- Do NOT use Loctite Flexible plastic adhesive for this. I got one tiny dribble on the soft touch coating of the center console and it caused it to peel up some and now I need to buy another console.
    Stick to the Silicone Yuri showed in the video.

    This must be exemplaric. i don't recognise this at all. I had some squeaking when I pressed hard on the 'metal' parts but i fixed that with Tec7 on the under side. I now 100% quiet.

    • @volvosweden
      @volvosweden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think my whole panel was defective from the box when it was new.

      @EwoutSchalkwijk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I must have been the reason. Now I've seen the rest of the video and we did it 99% on the same way. Especially the tape around al sharp edges does a lot. We both live in climates with very big differences in temperatures. That make it extra good to work on it in the summer half year.

    The chrome colored plastic part around the CD-player vibrates and makes a slightly annoying sound but only on the left side. If I push on it it stops, but when I let go it starts again. I wonder if one can bend it off and somehow use double sided tape, glue or whatever to attach it better. Or maybe there's a screw behind it that's loose.

    Pomysł dobry, gorzej z wykonaniem. Na początku niszczy plastkowe zaczepy używając diaxa , a wystarczy podgrzać zaczepy HOTem (nie opalarką!) - schodzi jedno z drugiego bez problemu i można zamontować ponownie jak oryginał

    Same thing happened mine when I replaced it with the chrome highlighted console. The Volvo dealer wouldn't be smart enough to fix it. Here it would more likely be damaged.

    What about squeaking in the passenger seat when cornering? And noise or squeaking in the back i guess suspension or maybe struts when driving over small rocks or let say holes it is really annoying.

    • @volvosweden

      You need to properly diagnose the rear suspension. Could be the bushings.

      Very true! To bad for Volvo!

  • @hermanmunster3358
    @hermanmunster3358 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    That creaking is usually caused by different components rubbing together. I am guessing the new centre console is made up of more components than the old one. And looks a lot more flimsy when you bend and twist it. That is really poor, but only to be expected when a quality manufacturer is taken over by a Chinese conglomerate such as Geely.
    The plug was pulled on Saab because GM wanted to make Saabs to a GM mass market budget, but Saab didn't want to compromise their reputation, or their quality.
    I can see the same happening to Volvo, unless somebody buys the company, and commits to quality over quantity.

    • @volvosweden
      @volvosweden  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and No. The current Volvo lineup is amazing considering its owner. Time will tell though.

      Ozolz Om du bor i Göteborg så åk till volvo service i Torslanda, om inte så gå till närmsta auktoriserade volvoserviceställe. Att mittkonsolen låter så är inte okej och låter så eftersom dem monterat den fel :)

    Hi Uri, regarding the cluster. My car has the silver rings, non Chronograph. Do you know if the chronograph ones can be taken from another cluster and clipped in. I know buying a whole new cluster is way expensive and has to be coded to your vehicle. Thanks for any help m8!

      @lenniebruce 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries, yeah you already have the nice Chronograph Clusters! Blue would look chintzy, in contrast to your wooden interior/luxury car look. It suits an original R-Design better even though I think R-Designs spoil the Volvo look. The steering wheels are lovely though and I've retrofitted them onto my S80 and V60.

    добрый вечер. у вас спереди есть датчики парктроника? у меня один вышел из строя. боковые, которые стоят рядом с противотуманками достаются легко, а вот те что в решетке в бампере, не могу понять, бампер что ли снимать!!? а Vida показывает что вышел из строя именно тот датчик, что в решетке стоит.

    • @volvosweden

    • @kabassik1900

      Виталий Махамед, снимается вместе с решеткой, решетка достаётся наружу в инете и на драйве в частности есть фотки с расположением защёлок. Тут нужен некоторый навык. По своему опыту проблема может быть в проводке. Перетираются провода о правый передний локер. Я поменял исправный датчик пока понял что к чему. Чтобы проверить просто поменяйте правый и левый местами. И если ошибка не переместится вместе с датчиком-ошибка в проводке.
