    Thank you Pastor Tim listening to this message today seeking the Lord to live a life completely surrender to Him. If anyone reading this please pray for me that I would lay aside those things that I covet may I put aside . Vanity, pride, all that I put before my Lord and my God I truly want to surrender and live a life pleasing to him

      I do not believe you. It is easy to make such a claim online. I have lived it, no money, no home, no floor beneath your feet to call your own. No source of income, no food. God met my needs. I challenge you to go to any African nation or India or Indonesia or Thailand, sell all that you have and meet the needs of other Christians in greater need than yourself. See that acceptance and contentedness is a way of life for those brothers and sisters who have nothing. It is an easy thing to say when you have everything. Few Americans get this level of contentedness. You claim it? Then prove it or stop making a claim you do not trurly understand.

    • @TheTykus
      @TheTykus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@StoicObserverS To be fair to the brother above you, He did not claim that he has obtained or lived that, but that it is true. Paul the apostle himself said he had learned to be content in whatever state. The only issue I could potentially see with his post, is his use of the word "happy". I'll give him the benifit of the doubt that he wasn't trying to be very concise in his meaning.
      You also may want to consider your own heart and motive for why you felt the need to come out so harshly. If you have lived it, praise God for your sacrifice. And if you wish to tell a brother to contemplate more deeply the words he is saying, do so with love and grace.
      1 Corinthians 13:3
      And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

      Why you are in such destitute? Curses in your life? Maybe you need to find out why God's people with such life conditions. God's Word never fails. Contentment is much gain He said.

      Vanilla Warrior are you having doubts that God is real and the Bible is truth? Or you believe in Christ and just unsure if you are saved? I had doubts for years if the Bible was real or not but I no longer doubt. I’ve repented and believe. I would think as long as you have repented, believe in Christ and have put your faith and trust in Him and strive to live Godly you are the right track. There are other TH-cam videos that that outline if your a Christian or not. I believe brother Tim has one. Stay at it and don’t give up. Stay in Gods word and let the Lord speak to you. It’s not an easy path following Christ but the best path. Continuing being a warrior and not a worrier. 🙂

      It is amazing how God leads us to what we need. This is a good lesson for me as well. I really needed to hear this. I never thought of myself as coveting. This makes me realize this must be a big part of what I needed God to reveal in my heart. I'm going to apply coveting to everything I look at and turn my eyes away. Each time I say, "I want," I realize that I must ask myself, "why?" Why do I want that?

    • @Mezirok1
      @Mezirok1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, our learning is continuous. There are some sins that we are not even conscious of. Which is why when I ask for forgiveness, I ask for sins committed knowingly and unknowingly. This kind of teaching sheds light on this aspect of the Christian Life.

    St. Basil (c. 379)--"Wretches, how will you justify yourselves before the Heavenly Judge? You say to me 'What is our fault, when we keep what belongs to us?' I ask you, 'How did you get that which you call your property?' How do the possessors become rich if not by taking possession of things that belong to all?"
    St. John Chrysostom (c. 407)--"To grow rich without an injustice is impossible. But what if he succeeded to his father's inheritance? Then he receives what had been gained by injustice." (Homilies 1 Tim: Hom: 1-12)

    I was always struggling with sexual immorality AND repenting and repeating over n over. It took time, but I became financially successful. Did God bless me because I was doing better? Maybe...then years go by and fell into that same sin, because it is HARD! I kept going and being wise in what I could. But maybe my plans to be out of the rat race were wrong. God doesn't give a spica specific answers about these things. There's nothing wrong with being financially successful and Rich. I didn't care at all about money, I just wanted free time and not have to go to a 40 hour a week job for the rest of my life that I didn't enjoy. Anyway, this is now 5 years later after one event after another caused me to have to get rid of my properties and as I sit in my ghetto house and look around at all my filthy surroundings and having to put up with a lower class of people, looking at blight and all the depressed miserable people around me it feels like God put me in this social hellish experience to punish me because I never got victory over immorality. Now I'm just depressed and have no idea what God's disposition is towards me. Do I just wait for him to throw me into the Lake of Fire? I still want to understand how and why things happened the way they did. I don't know if he took things away because he loves me and saw that it was leading to destruction or if he took it away because he wants me to suffer because he hates me. It's hard to know whether God is chastising a person out of love or if he is punishing them out of hatred.

      Don’t wait...cry out to God as if your eternal salvation depends on it because it does!
