I visit the West Bromwich shopping centres of the Queens and Kings and find many of the shops are abandoned and the Market hall appears to be almost forgotten.

Thank you fir the walk about. My younger years I lived in Kennedy house and went to hollyhedge school. We then moved to Slaithwaite rd just off dagger lane and I went to churchfields from 75 to 80. I walked along many if your walks, all saints way, hollyhedge Rd, up the humongous hill in Charlemont . What a walk down memory lane. I feel very sad now seeing how everything has changes, all i have now are my memories. I have been thinking about visiting just for old times sake, but I won't bother now. Thank you so much though, I will cherish my memories all the more now. Keep up the good work, I really enjoyed your channel. I will share this with my parents who moved away from West bromwich about 22 yrs ago purely for the fact that it was changing so much even back then. Thank you Karen
I remember the bustling shops. Such as, Chelsea Girl, Dolcis, Gas Store, Tesco, Mothercare. The waterfall in the middle. With the old folks, having a breather.
I moved out of West Brom in 2022, after living there since 1977, now live on the east coast, best thing I did. West Brom has turned into a ghost town, worst thing they did was move the bus station and build the new square. It killed the whole town.
Although the shopping centres are pretty much devoid of character now due to the amount of closed businesses it could be a lot worse. The centres are definitely a better option to shop in rather than the glum shabby high streets A stark contrast of sorts.
I think the new part has killed the old part, used to go dudley and West brom both now dead, remember being a kid when they was knocking it down to build the new squares, the old folks didn't like it, probably be made into houses

Its not a coincidence that this is happening in every single town and city in England.
Very true
It's so easy to find your way around.
Left at the ice cream parlour and right at the swimming pool. Simple.
Oops, they're all gone.
Most Towns now have too many shops the online shops have part of their share a rethink is needed for this new age.
