I cant believe the incompence in maintaning this infrastructure. There are multiple tools that are routinely used to check pipe integrity. Someone made a huge mistake and needs to be held accountable.

Every department and contractor involved in this project is trying their best to squeeze the maximum 💵 out of this. Only because it is a govt owned project, if that thing was owned by a private company it would have been fixed in two days.
Texas has a private electric company that fails every year, at the same time every year.
Just because you claim it, doesn't mean private companies actually operate that way. The evidence indicates they run cheap and fail more often.

In the meantime, Calgary's Mayor, Jyoti Gondek, has a lot of explaining to do as she said that the Albertan city's water woes would be over by the end of the week, and now its three to five week's later.
Now we are seeing the consequences of Alberta's unreliable water infrastructure system, and lack of diligence in fixing water main breaks in a timely manner, as they have water lines breaking in a short period of time.
Even Halifax does a much better job with water infrastructure than Calgary in spite the fact that many parts of that Nova Scotian city has pipes that are almost 200 years old and still runs very well.
As for Gondek, it should take a few days to fix a water main, NOT five weeks.

Any politician who tried to adequately fund infrastructure would be voted out because Albertans are allergic to paying for anything

Hire potable water tenders and start hauling to a reservoir that you can pipe into existing infrastructure Like 24 hours a day as many as you can and get them hauling yesterday
It's kind of funny. They were screaming about a drought while there was still snow on the ground. Then it rained for almost a month straight. Now they managed to get their Emergency Drought conditions anyways. Probably just a coincidence.
