Fantastic watch, the RM 008 is what bit me and took me into the awesome world of high end watches. I felt the exact same as you regarding what I thought high end watches were. I remember saying, " I have to have that watch, I don't care if its $10K. LOL" I was floored when I saw the price and that's when I started diving into the awesome world of luxury watches. I also agree that is a bargain and have been saying that for some time. It is just a clean early work by RM and is iconic. Beautiful finishing and movements. There are some really cool things coming out right now by MB&F, Urwerk and other independents I am sure you are well aware of, I am always partial to Richard Mille and always will be. Don't get me wrong i appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship behind the RM collections. But I DONT think these watches deserve the high price tags. I would much rather get 10 beautiful Audemars than some $750,000 Richard Mille
Archangel Michael if you saw someone wearing an Audemars equation of time in platinum that utilized the complication, could you really think they have no class? Also if class is the box to tick, might a royal oak extra thin 39mm and under do that while still imparting a certain feeling/vibe? The brand is not all Offshores, nor does it have a brand identity of exclusively the "classy market"; you might be surprised looking through a catalog. If class was your only important box, you might not enjoy Rolex.

Sb Sb how gives a Fok about some stupid quartz. and what is the point to run even one month if you don't use it for this long you don't like it a bit so just sell it and get some real time piece and to stay in Japan Used Seiko's can be had for as low as 10 euro and you have a real time piece not the cheap China inside that almost killed real watchmaking
Comparing RM to Frank Muller is totally ridiculous, Richard Mille is so functional, durable, exclusive and like Tim said: the coolest watch in the World. Now, this is for after you've owned several Pateks, AP, JLC & Rolex. Ammeters and the faint of heart need not apply and those who will never afford one will continue to hate.
I think you meant to spell "Amateur"... And im assuming he is comparing it to FM bc FM is the only other horology brand that regularly uses the rectangular style case. Dont quote me, but it makes sense to compare a high quality RM to a FM as they might wear the same, show the quality differences, etc
AP , PP nautilus 5980 and now this RM, please stop making me spend on these masterpieces . I wish I can stick to one brand but I buy what I like iv amassed £££ worth got to deposit them in banks to keep safe,
