    D750 is beast, but remote app is very simple. Nikon really needs to work on it, it needs a lot of improvements..
    I read some rumors regarding Nikon stopped manufacturing D750 and going to release a replacement with stunning low light capabilities :)

    • @JeremySmithPhotography
      @JeremySmithPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mehdi R I agree...Nikon (and all the camera companies) need to work on their apps. I read the same rumors although I have not been able to verify, I do suspect that we will see a D810 replacement first though.

    Thanks for the info. I have two questions: after the photo is taken and the image is downloaded onto your smart phone, is that downloaded image a jpg? If so, is it low or hi res? Also, if you’re taking RAW images, will the camera have a copy of the raw files in the SD card?

  • @nadeemafzal8984
    @nadeemafzal8984 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    thank you Jeremy - extremely well explained - both thumbs up !
    2 questions please
    1. if connected through wi fim does the camera use the mobile monthly data allowance ?
    2. How can you set this up on a Df ? I think need to purchase an additional 'dooh dah' to make that work as doesnt have inbuilt wifi - is it glitchy ? i have been told it is ....
    many thanks again

    I have a d750 aswell with the 28-105 lens I’m loving it, I have an iPhone 12 max and just downloaded WMU works great. I had a question, for maximum resolution should I shoot RAW+JPEG FINE or just JPEG FINE?
    Also, when I download photos if I wanted them to be maximum resolution should I use ORIGINAL or RECOMMENDED SIZE files?

    • @JeremySmithPhotography
      @JeremySmithPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want the full-res images to transfer to your smart device you want to use the original setting when transferring. While you can't transfer raw files to a mobile device using WMU shooting raw + jpeg will allow you to transfer the raw files from the memory card to a computer for detailed editing later.

  • @williamdurant5042
    @williamdurant5042 ปีที่แล้ว

    My S21 Android phone, too, doesn't have a way to turn off auto downloading with every picture taken, 4 years after the other poster's observation and my newer phone. I guess that feature won't ever be available in the WMU.

    Thank you Jeremy - this is just what I was looking for. One issue I have is the poor image resolution on the iPad. Im using a 6th generation iPad Pro 12.5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers R

    • @JeremySmithPhotography
      @JeremySmithPhotography  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It sounds like the images are being resized... this is the default app behavior. If you select an individual image for transfer you can choose "original" resolution instead of recommended. This will transfer the original full-size image instead of a lower res copy.

    • @JeremySmithPhotography
      @JeremySmithPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately that is all, it is not possible to change exposure setting in the WMU app. It's worth mentioning that the D780 with the Snapbridge app allows for more control. Third party wireless solutions like the Air Direct from Tether Tools are also an option if you want to have better wireless capability with the D750.

    If choose "original" as a download option, do you get the RAW file to your device? For me this doesn't work (anymore). It seems that theyˋve changed the cause snapseed and lightroom mobile doesn't detect them as RAW in my Camera roll.

    • @JeremySmithPhotography

      The built in wifi does not have this capability, you would need a 3rd party wireless solution. The latest offering on the market is the Tether Tools Air Direct, it seems to work reasonably well however even in 2020 wireless tethering is still not there yet IMHO. I prefer to stick with a cable and Capture One software, you could also use Lightroom Classic software instead of Capture One.

      Take a look at 4:06. Tap the blue gear/camera icon in the top right corner, then switch it from the option that says WMU to the option that says camera. If you don't want it to automatically save to your phone de-select the option that says download after shooting.
