Always been one of my favorite solo sections from Alex..the way the song builds in that moment along with how he slowly builds up to his solo..sublime.
One of my all time favorite Rush tunes. The drumming is so amazing. The lyrics and singing are perfect, and the guitar... So fucking awesome! Thanks for this one, Ruben. Next, do Emotion Detector!
The "Grace Under Pressure Tour" is totally awesome. I love the drum sound on this live tour. I have lost count of how many times i have watched this tour! Check out "Vital Signs" from this tour also. I will listen to Rush until the day i die! RIP Neil Peart.
I was SOOO fortunate in hindsight, to have seen the grace under pressure tour 1984-the last time it was performed live, and my first of of 16 Rush shows over 32 years.🖖🤘🎹🥁🎸🇨🇦🎤
Zig, me too. Grace under pressure was my first Rush concert. I saw every other tour after that. You are right, I don't recall this ever played again live.
I didn't see this concert live but I caught it on MTV at midnight back around October of 1986 or '87. I was about 14 years old. I remember I had the worst cold I've ever had, sore throat, chills and basically felt like total shit. I was sitting on the couch with Kleenex and Clorasceptic throat spray and drugged up on NyQuil. Hell bent on watching this concert, I remember enjoying it despite my condition. I know I made it till the end because I remember being mesmerized by the bridge of Afterimage as it played along with the credits. Could of had something to do with what I was taking, but I'll never forget that concert and have loved Rush ever since.
I really like this video .... get a charge out of Neil just flipping the sticks between beats like,' yeah, I'm that good ...' And then cymbal-cymbal-cymbal-BAM!! It's just great!
Hey Ruben. Sorry to hear about your hangover...my condolences. Nice choice for a reaction. The guy at the beginning is Count Floyd from the SCTV comedy show. Very well known in Canada and the US. Hop you enjoyed it. Still waiting for The Necromancer.....
Didn't really gel with the song at first. I saw it live (realized how weird the time signature was, felt like disco but wasn't) and it was a surprisingly epic and changed my mind about the song. Fortunate to see Rush in the 80's and this tour especially the sound system seemed pretty good. Thanks Ruben for the reaction video this song, this takes me back to an awesome show and song.
I remember being at the gigs at this time - brilliant, the memories will last forever. The guys were playing out of their skins. Ruben - you only got this in one half D !! There will NEVER be a band like RUSH I was blessed to be alive when these guys were making music 👌😀
Rush...Live Rotterdam....you think the Dutch don’t like Rush?? “The Main Monkey Business”.....instrumental (Snakes and ArrowsTour)! One of the best jams!
Here’s a 2nd for The Necromancer! I forget if you’ve done By-Tor and the Snowdog, but if you haven’t, you need to do that song first and then The Necromancer. It’s a great story of battles and redemption. :)
When people ask me what my favorite band is, I always battle in my mind if I'm going to answer Queen, Pink Floyd or Rush. Most of the time, it's Rush :)
I saw this tour , and many after. This song is wonderful, and the album Signals is still one of my top 3 from Rush. Can't go wrong with Rush, in my book , Rubin.
Glad you enjoyed it Ruben! That intro has to be fun after a hangover lol! Yes - like them or not - RUSH are objectively among the greatest bands of all time - for many reasons. This track is quite different than what you have listened to so far (from them) - it is a decade where Geddy's synth playing was much more present in their tracks, but still, Neil's incredible drumming and Alex's guitar playing are just as powerful as with any Rush tune. Put down on your long list of requests this gem (no - not Rush this time, it's Jethro Tull and I am amazed you haven't had any 'Tull' reaction videos! Led by one of the greatest musical talents in the history of music - the mad magician - Ian Anderson) - HEY! It's only 13 minutes! - Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (live at Madison Square Garden 1978) /watch?v=H-hnVeq9FTg
Nice! You should check out all of the songs that make up the "fear" series. I believe that there are four songs in Neil Pearts "series of fear". Although a fifth song might have been added from one of their more recent albums. Only a few come to mind right now, but it should be easy to find them. Always a pleasure! Take care ✌
If this does not convince you that Peart is the number one rock drummer of all time I don't know what will. Alex is also amazing on this track. Rueben please check out Subdivisions and Middletown Dreams next.
Heads up, on that release, you have to check out the previous track- The Enemy Within and the track Witch Hunt which follows The Weapon! One and only tour they played that trilogy.
#PathOfGolconda Return Would really like to hear your reaction to Path of Golconda and the song Return. You might also like the song The Wolves are on the Prowl. Links to both songs below..... Return - th-cam.com/video/Ju3cD4B2puI/w-d-xo.html Wolves - th-cam.com/video/Q-ITKSS2CwQ/w-d-xo.html
Fantastic song, the guitar work is out of this world! You mentioned the sense of completeness of this band and I totally agree, but for me the best trio in music history still remains Emerson Lake and Palmer... Man that kind of chemistry was beyond human comprehension for me! Now that I'm thinking about it, I must suggest you some songs by them! Oh well, step by step as they say :D
@@nigelfarage4119 Yeah, that's true, but for me that 1/20th beats everything Rush has ever done...it's just my opinion, not a fact, I still love Rush and their catalogue is full of tremendous songs, so take it as a personal opinion :)
Ok Ruben, I gave this video a thumbs up even before I heard your reaction at the end. As always, you didn't disappoint. 👍 Now I know there are a ton of requests, but I'm going to request that you react to "Distant Early Warning", from the same concert as this song. I'm not even going to tell you anything else about it - you'll just have to trust me. 😎
If anyone was in any doubt as to why Neil Peart is considered the best drummer in the world, you just need to look at this performance. The drumming on display here is so unbelievably technical.
Rubin …. believe you've seen enough Rush to be able to watch "Beyond The Lighted Stage" (think it's on Netflix) without having any possible future songs spoiled. 2 and a half hours long so far too long for a reaction vid obviously (unless you're prepared to do some havy editing) but you'll enjoy no doubt. Watch it, and record as if a reaction and then see what you think. We'd all like to hear your thoughts on it though, I'm sure. Great reaction as always. :)
@@stevebryant6483 not yet! I will though. But I am also savoring the book. Very descriptive of the boys at work and their relationship to reach other and the job. Really like it.
The gutair solo is absolutely amazing along with the drumming

I was at this concert , 10th row center floor. My first rush show .. many more to follow.

I love this version.. That extended solo builds so beautifully
I was at this specific concert ,the first Rush concert I ever saw ...needless to say I was blown away
I was there, '82 or '84? Count Floyd, 3D glasses, Toronto. Ahh, Rush memories are all good.
Awesome song. Scary how relevant it is today.

Gotta love Neil rocking the rat tail
I like Rush, too. addendum: I Love Rush!
This post has got the best sound I’ve ever heard for the Weapon live !!
Peart was making his drums a weapon by themselves. Like the tattoo of a machine gun!
So right. Their chemistry is an example for all people in every kind of relationship.
Electricity! Biology!

Brilliant far cry or faithless from the 80’s chemistry off the same album as the weapon
They would practice for hours everyday together and by themselves up to the concert, now check out-( Bravado )and (the wreckers)****
Well, great version. Great reaction too!

“The Main Monkey Business”.....instrumental (Snakes and ArrowsTour)!

Aww man. My very 1st rush concert. Cow palace outside of San Francisco. I was a newbie in the Air Force and was so drunk I lost my 3d glasses. Lol.
Don't feel too bad for me tho bro, I got another 27 shows under my belt! Rock on
Love this one Rubin...good choice!
