It's all thanks to the storm knocking down power lines and trees... It was 70 miles per hour wind or higher if I remember correctly... Also the Coronavirus has me stuck at home too... I had my doubts. I started seeing patterns. Then we went on vacation and he proposed. I said yes because I thought that's what we needed. What I needed. I started googling 'Am I in a toxic relationship?', 'Signs of a toxic partner', 'Mental abuse patterns', etc. Then I would clear my history while crying myself to sleep, telling myself the articles were wrong. I almost killed myself due to the trauma that relationship put me through. Two days after he broke it off, I felt relieved. A week after and he was already dead to me. A month after and I started to recognize what he did.
My friends don't know why I stayed so long. My family still doesn't know the full story. My coworkers wonder how I kept up a happy façade while I was slowly dying. The one person who warned me doesn't understand why I ignored them.
