Most people don't understand that the concrete ties will "pop" or break in the middle if there is even a small rock or anything hard under the tie and a load like ballast cars, etc. are run over the track before the track is raised enough to get ballast under the ties from about 1 foot inside of the rails to the ends of the ties to adequately support the ties. That is loading the ties in reverse of the design. Once the track is raised and tamped, there is no danger to the ties unless there is a derailment or dragging equipment. Each one of those ties weighs around 700 to 750 lbs. Glad to see the project.
Thankfully Tampa and potentially Jacksonville will be in the pipeline. I am also going to go through withdrawals. He has really stepped it up. I hope they hire him for media.
I know right but thankfully between going to Tampa potential to Jacksonville, adding a port miami stop and possibly even make a commuter system to run alongside their intercity system. It'll be at least eight more years of construction.
This was awesome. Loved this seires and its good to see how the progress is really ramping up to meet that passenger service deadline of 2023. Pretty soon the trains will be flying through to test there top speed.
Great to see the track-laying start at this end! With the work train on-site there and tracks starting to run, seems like if it's another two months until your next update, they'll be meeting the tracks from Orlando by then!
Thanks for these 3 parts. when the track builders get started, there is no stopping anyway. until Orlando they still have enough to do. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
Both directions of 528 are now driving over 95. The 95 northbound exit from 528 is still off on the shoulder. I'm not really sure how it will cross the track though.
Thanks for all the updates, pretty cool seeing the progress even though I don't live in Florida. I was wondering if you have any videos of the actual track laying process?
@@RoamingRailfan Thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention Danny Harmon (Distant Signal) mentioned your channel in his video of his FEC visit. That's what sent me here !!
How did they deliverthe new 1600' sections of track onto the new track bed? I've seen that in other railroads when they drop off new rail alongside of existing rail via long rail trains but that's not possible here. So how did they deliver it? Thanks for keeping us informed about the progress. I'm lookikg forward to the day when we see Brightline zipping along adjacent to 528 at a speed faster the our auto is traveling.
Its so they can work and switch cars on the line without having to enter/affect the FEC mainline, which they would have to do if they used the one for the second mainline.
REALLY appreciate the time and expense you put into these videos. THANK YOU! For keeping the world up to date on this.

I might go through withdrawals when this project is done. I always look forward to your updates.
Considering the plans to extend to Disney and Tampa, I don't think the project will be fully complete for a long time yet.

Plus the second mainline.
Same here

Cool to see the VAB in the distance on a nice clear day
They are building so much faster than any road work in my state.
great Brightline Construction update video
the view of the 5 tracks at full width gives off serious european vibes. Love it!
Fantastic series of videos! Very well done! Brightline and FEC SHOULD give you an executive job, like head of marketing, for example!
Thank you for making these! It is so fascinating to watch a new rail line grow!
Nice job.

I'll be keeping a closer eye on it now.

Looking good so far. We will see trains on the track soon
Thanks for the update
Thanks for the update. This is quite the undertaking for Brightline. Hope it works out becomes a profitable venture. I can't wait to ride it!
That’s good progress!
While driving on I-95 I always wondered why the track curved to the north but now I understand
truly can't wait to ride from KMCO to Miami.
The progress is really starting to pick up now. Clearly approaching the home stretch, it's quite exciting! Thanks for a great update!
Perfect update as usual,WONDERFUL WORK!! ENJOYED EVERYTHING
Great video update, keep up the good news 👍.
Your doing well with the updates, train 🚆 trips to ride again. It will be so nice to have it again ☺ keep it safe and simple.
Awesome!
Super video, thanks for the update 👍👍

Run around track LOL
'Passing Loop' ;)
Runaround is the official term for it here in the states

I have bits and pieces throughout several of my videos, but no single video on it.

They delivered it next to the existing tracks in Cocoa then pulled it with a loader to where it was needed.
interesting they added an extra turnout instead of using the one already in place for the 2nd mainline.
Its so they can work and switch cars on the line without having to enter/affect the FEC mainline, which they would have to do if they used the one for the second mainline.
@@RoamingRailfan Thanks, I was wondering that too!
@@RoamingRailfan ah okay, makes sense
So, eventually there will be a double track inside the tunnel?
Yes
What's rail threading? Is it just that they laid down rail?
Its been moved into position
Are the tunnels good for full size freight if FEC ever wanted to send freight to Orlando/Tampa? Or are they leaving it to CSX?
They are not as freight is expressly prohibited on the line
Is the first tunnel wide enough for 2 tracks when they expand? Tunnel at Cocoa looks wide enough.
Both tunnels are wide enough for double track
Thank you. Have a hot cup of coffee on me.
