I was at one point taking the pill to help with my endometriosis. At first it made my periods less painful. Then I started experiencing some really negative side effects. Some women who struggle with anxiety disorders and depression can have their symptoms made worse after taking the pill. It messes with the chemicals and hormonal balance in your brain. The pill made my depression way worse and I had to stop it cause it made me feel suicidal. Just putting that out there incase any other girl is experiencing this, I’d recommend telling your doctor and to stop taking it.

I was the most depressed I had ever been in my life, lost my job, gained 10 pounds for eating the same things I’ve always eaten, and lost my boyfriend because of it. I take generic Seasonique, which is technically a combination pill but the packaging looks like the progestin only kind, and I get my period every three months. My mom had an progestin only IUD but when she took it out for good, she stopped having insane hormonal acne. I recommend getting the combination kind because the right amount of estrogen can help with things like that. My acne is already getting better and it works so fantastic and even though there are 7 reminder pills, I only have my period for four days.

So because men don’t go through menstruation, they don’t have the capacity to feel as much pain as a women? Because by that logic, that would make menstruation the most painful thing in the world. But based off a quick google search regarding the most painful thing in the world, that title belongs to Cluster headaches. Which occurs in all humans, regardless of gender. Which means men and women both have the same capacity to feel the greatest pain to ever exist. So, to claim that whatever pain a man has, his pain is far less than a women’s pain because men don’t go through menstruation, is complete nonsense. As for your second claim about respecting and thanking women, I respect my mother and thank her for giving birth to me sure, but Im not gonna express that respect and thankfulness to any other women in the world because they’re not the ones that went through the pain of labor for me.

@@someotherworldlybeing3167 In what way is the pain being experienced. physically? emotionally? I don't really want an answer, then we'd have to start researching and compiling evidence for both men and women if we really are going to figure out which gender experiences more pain in their lifetime. I personally think that it all equals out in the end. But if you have some compelling evidence that I don't already know about (cases of r@pe, abuse, menstruation, pregnancy, birth, physical and emotional damage) then I'll gladly lend an ear. But alas, what point would we be trying to prove? What would we be changing in the end? What fight is not already being fought for both men, women, trans, and whoever else there may be? Or are we simply trying to fuel each other's resentment for each other in the name of our own views, beliefs, and opinions. Women feel pain, Men feel pain, humans feel pain. I don't believe the greatness of said pain is something to use against each other to disavow each other's pain and make them feel like their pain is meaningless and unimportant compared to someone else's. It's just not right. We, as human beings, need to accept that everyone, no matter how big or small, no matter how rich or poor, no matter how guilty or innocent someone may be. We, at the end of the day, are human beings. Never made a comment like this before. Sleep deprivation for the win.

It was a natural twin pregnancy, so the weaker fetus (my twin in this case) was terminated in order for my mother to survive. This does not happen in every case, my brother and sister were singular pregnancies. It seems weird, knowing that I would've to could've had a twin.

menstruation on hormonal birth control is actually withdrawal bleeding - bleeding that occurs from the withdrawal of hormones.
-this was created to give your body a break from the consistent level of hormones, and to mimic a menstrual cycle to try to comfort people who might feel worried about birth control (ex. some women back in the 1950s, when hormonal birth control was first created and released, were skeptical about it because it would change their menstrual cycle).
-it's very similar to menstruation, with very similar symptoms and side effects, as hormone levels go down and fluctuate during this time with both. these vary with every person - some people's menstruation is better, some worse, and some the same. more commonly better, as, for example, cramps can improve due to no lining. there can still be some sort of cramping from the withdrawal bleeding, though.
-you can actually skip this period (ha pun), as there's no lining to be shed, it's just a reaction from the lack of hormones. though only up to 6, sometimes 3 months (depending on what type you take, how many hormones you're taking, your health history, your side effects, etc), as the hormones can build up too much, to where they can cause death.
everything else in this seems correct! i suggest looking up "withdrawal bleeding birth control" and reading more on it, if you're interested! good on you for reading this and educating yourself on the female reproductive system!

I was on the birth control pill for a little over a month. I didn’t realize that too much estrogen is what interfered with my seizure medication and could easily trigger a seizure. and as a result a couple months ago I had an epileptic seizure and was taken off birth control right away. I don’t know if I’d ever go on any other type of birth control again :(

It may be worth looking into getting an IUD. There are hormonal ones but because they are localised to the uterus the effects don't tend to generalise to the rest of the body. Some people (including me) have great experience with this, others, not so much - there are drawbacks to ay method. Perhaps talk to your doctor about your options as there are quite a few :)

@@mardigammon4061 if i ever wanted to get an iud, I’d have to get the copper one. My seizure medication makes birth control ineffective as well because with my seizure meds, the hormones in birth control break down faster. Epileptic women have increased chances of getting pregnant because of that, and even plan b doesn’t work. It’s awful. But I’ll definitely talk to my doctor :)

Hosrmones are verh important things for survival. These pills interfere with normal body hormones to a very extreme level. Remember that.

I'm glad you're doing research. Birth control pills are 99.9% effective but it does not prevent STDs or sti's.
Make sure shes careful with interactions such as vomiting first 3 hours ,severe diarrhea Antibiotics don't reduce the bc unless it's for hiv or tb but also talk to your doctor before she takes any antibiotics. Vitamin C increases side effects so careful with lemon juice and grapefruit or even tablets. If shes on combination pill she has up to 12 hours that she can take it late and if shes on mini pill she only has three hours that she can take it late ...anything after that there is risk. An example would be if she takes her pills at 7pm everyday and she forgets it at home and can't take it at 7pm then she has up to 7am to take it , if she's on mini pill and she takes it at 7pm then she only has up to 10pm only 3 hours anything after that there Is risk of pregnancy. Remind her that when she bleed there is no period and it's not called a period it's called breakthrough bleeding or withdrawal you dont get periods on bc also placebo pills dont have to be taken and are only there for 2 reasons one of them is just so you can keep the habit going and some of them contain iron that can help with side effects but dont have to be taken.
