Brilliant - so helpful. One suggestion. I repeatedly made the mistake of not tabbing back to the left of the full stop before clicking level one and level two in the "Include level..." box. Missed the movement of the cursor in the video! A tiny thing that is so obvious but I missed it and maybe others would as well. Might be worth a little arrow on the screen or other way to highlight this. Then again maybe I am on my own here. Anyway, I persevered and it was exactly what I needed. Thanks a million.
Thank you for sharing and well done! I have a challenge that I've not been able to solve. I'm asked to provide a document with level 1 as "ARTICLE I", using roman numerals, followed by all lower levels using legal numbering: 1.1, 1.2,...1.2.1, 1.2.2, etc. I seem to only be able to achieve I.1, I.2...I.2.1, I.2.2, etc. I seems to me, if heading 1 is formatted as roman numeral, than any link to this level will retain that format? Do you agree? Your input is appreciated.
I am having such a difficult time on mine. Is there any way you can help me? First, I set the levels per your instructions. When I use heading 2 for a sub-heading, it keeps forcing it to be heading 3 (which is detailed subheading in my paper). Also when I update the TOC table, it adds the text. I am using a template from my instructor. Is there any way you could help me? i feel like I have watch and tried every TH-cam video but i have not been able to fix it. Thank you.
I faced a persistent problem eventhough I tried to solve it. After finishing my document with headings list and save it, some numbers of some headings have become hidden and a black cursor was highlighted instead. Bearing in mind that the number of headings in the navigation bar appear

I don't find the heading 3 in my styles... just heading 1
Why do you say "full stop" when you type the character commonly known (in North America) as a period?
You should work for Microsoft
