'I can die, but my art cannot'. Wow... that is a remarkably profound observation. The vast majority of people in this world are forgotten after a very few generations, but art can be eternal. Thank you for posting this.
Poor guy - I hope more people take it up. Maybe if he was open to a fusion of art forms? I know it's not traditional, but permitting digital elements would probably encourage more young people to do it.
Wow.. it turns out that Cambodian shadow puppets look very similar to a type of "wayang" we have in Indonesia (tbh I didn't even know Cambodia has shadow puppets 😂). How interesting!
You go , Cambodian dude ! Those are some nice shadow puppets you made ! Hmmmm , "Shadow Puppets" would be a pretty cool name for a Graphic Novel or a Band . 👍🍻
Cambodian arts are great, its nice we can preserve the history and the values of it. But tbh we live in a world where things evolve and become modern. If you could combine the new method into art it would be much time-based. Although art is more about creativity, building new concepts. Be genuine and create our own work, not copying (I have seen most of stuffs were copied during the 2000s like music) but it has improved now. The fact that I hate how some of SEA countries like Cambodia and Thailand. We havent gone the fact that we shared culture. I know it used to be all Khmer but it was hundreds of years ago. Even land occupancy, they have their own law. Rather than fighting over whats our and whats theirs, we could do way better than this… I am saying as a Cambodian who was born and raised there. We have many good thing to share but we tend to reject new concept. Whenever anyone came up with creativity of altering the culture’s style by adapting to new world concepts, they would be criticized and judged most of the time. Now we rather copy some of the styles from other countries just because the ideas was already famous (not all tho but i have seen a few already)

Wish Cambodian art thrives and flourishes.🙏

I love learning about different cultures, people and their countries.🌏
Es lo que necesita este mundo; arte, cultura, educación, respeto y admiración entre unos y otros. El arte nos hace ser mejores seres humanos.

Americans are allowed to travel to Cambodia & witness these shows in person despite the pandemic. 😉
