RWBY Yellow Trailer "I Burn" Male Cover

- Rooster Teeth Productions has recently premiered a new web series by Monty Oum called RWBY, and the music is absolutely incredible, so I wanted to try to cover one of these songs.
This song is called I Burn, by Jeff Williams (who wrote all the music for RWBY as well as RvB) and is originally sung by Casey Lee Williams (with a small part by Jeff himself in the third part of the remix) and it's actually a remix of the three previous songs in additional to the new part.

I love this cover it's really well done
My only real complaint is that while technically speaking the "From Shadows" part is good it lacks a lot of the emotion that was in the original.
this is literally.. LITERALLY the only version where I can clearly hear "you got nothing that can stop me" in the chorus. I can't hear it in any other version including the original.

To all the people out there STILL complaining that "this isn't actually 'I Burn,' it's just a medley," GO FIND THE ACTUAL OST AND LOOK AT THE TRACK NAMES. There are three versions of "I Burn": Yellow Trailer, ft. Lamar Hall, and Remix. All three share the title "I Burn" with equal validity. So STOP COMPLAINING AND START PAYING ATTENTION TO THE FACTS!

Plus at the time this was made the trailer medley was literally the only version of I Burn available. A common complaint about Yang in the super early days was that we only had one verse in her song and she had little to no character development in volume 1 beyond 'Ruby's big sister', so she was far and away the least compelling of the four. Luckily they started turning that around in volume 2.

Congrats, sir, you're the only one that's been able to discern "you've got nothing that can stop me" from that jumble of words I heard in the original. Not that it detracts from the original at all, but I rather enjoyed your performance. Liked
While I personally did not care for the song done in this manner, I respect you for having the balls to step up and do this. I think that my issue with this is mostly the lack of inflection for the vocals, not necessarily the sound itself being off. But again, as a dude with no vocal talent whatsoever, I would never have thought to do this. Respect.
HOLY CRAP!! This is amazing!! I Burn is one of my favorite songs from the RWBY soundtrack (gave my nickname Fire Hazard, haha) and I'm so happy to hear this!

It's great. Taking on a song that the vocals are so heavily edited isn't the most easy thing to do for a cover and this sounds really good. Nice work.
You should never tell someone the suck or fail at something. You should only give people constructive criticism to help them become better and built them up not bring them down.

So many people do this because they decide that they personally don't like what they heard and...ugh...if I think about it, I'm just going to get myself angry so let's not think about that!
I personally like going around and giving feedback to newer channels with a small number of subscribers, the only feedback I got for this guy, really, is just to not go quite so over board with the vocal effects, I know he's just simulating the original but it would make it unique...that and a human sounding voice is better than one smothered in robotic effects.
Gamesfan34260 Honestly you do waaay better than what I ever could Lol, people such as yourself, Kid Yuki, Casey Lee Williams, Jeff Williams, etc. all have talent to where they can sing Pretty well. I honestly had a small minor problem with the "From Shadows" part because it wasn't as Emotional, But it still was excellent considering how the original is so Edited.
4:35 I am not ashamed to say that I have envisioned myself singing this part of the song. You did a really good job with Yang's part of the song. And the rest of the song, too.
This is awesome. The only complaint I have is that you didn't do the background vocals and the "From shadows" part didn't have the same emotion as the original

Very well done. It's not easy to cover these songs, much less make them sound good. My constructive criticism is that you need to make your tone more vertical. If you sit up straight when you are recording, it reduces the chance of your tone being nasaly or whiny. Don't ever stop singing. Love what you do and have fun with it.

I liked it. However, it's got a lot of filtering, and I think I would've liked it a little bit more if there had been more of a natural sound. You have a great voice.

This /is/ good, but you should label it as 'Yellow' rather than just 'I Burn' when it's clearly not. You don't even do that part until the end. That nitpick aside, if they do a song for Jaun, you should totally try for it.
Actually, this video was made before the album version of I Burn was released. That is the proper name of the song. Easy mix-up though.

You're way too low. You need to match her pitch and then you can note to note.

This wasn't I burn, this was a medley. It was good, but don't advertise something as a single song when three other songs dominate the running time. It was still good though.
