  • The Miami Hurricanes will have talented players returning next year, despite a disappointing 5-7 season in 2022. Pro Football Focus analyst Max Chadwick joins Alex Donno and John Garcia Jr. to break down why he considers James Williams to be among the top 5 returning safeties in the country. Not surprisingly, Kam Kinchens is also on that list. James, though, had an uneven 2022 season. He has a chance to be more consistent in 2023.
    Max also explains why Leonard Taylor is so highly rated by the PFF analytics. Taylor had a surprisingly low snap count in 2022 but Donno expects him to get more playing time next year. Max also explains what it will take for Tyler Van Dyke to have a bounce back season.
    Alex and John discuss the breaking news today of NIL violations being discovered by the NCAA against the Miami women’s basketball program. WBB head coach Katie Meyer served a suspension and Miami’s athletic department is on probation for a year. The violation is the result of the Cavinder twins having dinner last April at John Ruiz’ home. Thankfully, the NCAA investigated Miami’s entire athletic department and did not find any violations elsewhere, including football and men’s basketball. Alex and John discuss 2024 quarterbacks Air Noland and Marcos Davila.

      I’d add USC to that with the Addison thing, although they’ve received a beating in the past like Miami.

    Hey My UM brother! The LBs and Corners have to step up. I’d like to NOT have our safeties making stops on run plays.

    It’s really a shame, all the strange recruiting flips, and transfer portal news and the NCAA only targets Miami.
    Only one solid recruiting class and an abysmal season and they already trying to shut Miami down. Searching for petty things.

      He was seen on campus this week but that could mean anything. They could be mending fences or he could have been there asking for a release. I don’t know what’s going on there

    JW was playing with a fucked up shoulder all year last year. It really hurt his tackling. He will be the best safety in the country this year with cam being 2cd

      I hope so, James is such a specimen, but if he played with a bum shoulder, I get the poor tackling. Kitchens is well rounded, and a great player and leader. I hope they both stay healthy!

    This offense will resemble Lashley's offense, especially when it comes to the passing game and TVD was very successful in the scheme.
    I anticipate a return to the TVD we saw in 2021 and maybe an improved version of that player ( he is more experienced and a year older).

      @truss2005 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hope it’s better than lashlee. He called wayyyy to many wr bible screens on first and second down. Barely ever tested safeties

    • @RaisedCane-qn3ts
      @RaisedCane-qn3ts ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think this offense will be more aggressive vertically, which will require the WR room and the O line to step up. As far as TVD, I think it will depend in large part on how well his shoulder heals.

    • @RaisedCane-qn3ts
      @RaisedCane-qn3ts ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @t russ I think those bubble screens were used to get opposing safeties (especially FS's) cheating towards the line of scrimmage. Remember that Wheel route Mallory scored a bunch of times on absolutely wide open? IMO, those Bubble screens were a big reason why.

    • @richardjackley334
      @richardjackley334 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@truss2005 hey t russ..... you may not remember all the "Go's" he threw to Rambo down the sidelines, as well as, several skinny posts. Yes the bubble screen will still be part of the scheme and,like you, I'd like to see more down field passing, however other than the many of the passing concepts being the same there will be far more Pin & pull, counter and power run game. Lashlee relied heavily on simplicity, inside zone and shadowing techniques.
      Mario can better explain his vision of this offense. He talks about it in an interview he recently did with Joe rose on Odyssey. Just excited to have a modern offense back at the 'U'. BTW good job Raised Cane.
